《HER LOVE • davina claire》4 | HER ORIGIN STORY

I was humming along to a catching song on the radio in the penthouse apartment that Davina and I shared while making breakfast, seeing as Niklaus chased me from the Compound and demanded that I get some in some loving time with my girl while he takes Hayley hunting. The open plan design was what I love the most. It was spacious but at the same time homey. That is thanks to the little witch that was currently sleeping in our bed. She decorated our entire home. Footsteps hitting the bedroom floor alerted me that a certain brunette beauty awakened and was on her was to the kitchen, to where the smell of bacon was coming from from.
I grinned as arms wrapped around my waist. She kissed my shoulder in good morning. I am so wearing this strappy shirt and shorts to bed again. “Good morning, love. Slept well?” She hummed sleepily as an answer, clearly still waking up. The brunette let go of me. I glanced over my shoulder and saw that she was walking to the fridge and took out the box of orange juice before making her way to the kitchen island and plopping down on own of the high chairs.
I finished our breakfast and we ate in silence. We ate in a peaceful quiet around us until Davina spoke up. “Babe, can I ask you a question? You don’t have to answer.” I frowned and looked at her. She looked very nervous.
“You know you can ask me anything, love.” I took her hand in my own, hoping to calm her nerves. She shot me a smile. Then she adverted her eyes and took a deep breath.
“How are you not affected by magic?” I will admit, I was surprised, but it wasn’t unexpected. I knew she had to wonder how I am immune to magic. She was also the only one, besides my family who already know how, that I’m willing to give an explanation to.
“It’s difficult to tell. Maybe it’s better if I show you?” I told her, pointing to her head. Her eyes widened.
“You’d do that?”
I smiled gently. “Yes, Davina, I would. I’d do near to anything for you.” I got of my chair and spun her around, standing in-between her legs. Her locked her legs around my waist, bringing me closer to her. I smiled and gave her a deep, toe-curling kiss. Slightly breathless and dizzy from the sensations that came from kissing her, I took a deep breath to steady myself. I placed both my index and thumb fingers to her temples and closed my eyes. I brought up memories I had suppressed for a thousand years.
“It was right after my werewolf side was bound.” I told her, before projecting the images to her mind.
A disheveled and tears stained faced Aleksios Mikaelson was laying on the floor when she felt a blow to her stomach as Mikael kicked her. Her eyes burned with tears. “Dirty bitch.” The man snarled. The girl swallowed back her tears, refusing to cry. Rage flew through her when Mikael turned to her twin, ready to beat him as well. The blonde girl tried to crawl as fast as she could to her brother, to take the hits for him, unintentionally using her vampire speed and got in front of him just in time – by now her ribs had healed again. Before Mikael’s foot could hit her stomach, she caught his leg.
With wide eyes, she wanted to push him backwards and used all of her strength to do so. Instead of being thrown off balance, Mikael flew through the air. Aleksios was in awe of her powers. She quickly stood up as Mikael started to walk to them again. “You will never harm my twin brother again!” She shouted, the protectiveness burning fiercely in her eyes. Mikael then knew that he would have to go through her. With a smirk he walked towards her and thought, to bad she would not be dead forever.

She fought back, but ultimately Mikael got the upper hand and he killed her. That was the first and only time Aleksios Mikaelson was killed in her immortal life up until she arrived in Mystic Falls. It was also the first part she met the Spirits. They took her soul from her body and transported it to their realm. The newly turned girl woke up in a room that looked like something out of a place.
“Nik!” She called out in a panic.
“Aleksios.” A voice called out and the girl froze. She turned around, to where she heard the voice from. Her eyes widened when she spotted a woman, power radiating from her. “Do not fear.”
“Who are you?” The blonde girl asked, obviously scared of this woman. And this strange place she was in.
“My name is Dreah. And I am the leader of the Spirits.” The woman introduced herself, only confusion the girl even more.
“The Spirits?”
Dreah nodded. “Yes, it is a place where witches who have used their magic for good their whole lives, come to rest when they die. You come here and your power intensifies to an unlimited amount and you make a home for yourself here.”
“I do not understand. Dead? But I am immortal now, I should not be able to die.” She rambled, clearly confused.
“You are not dead, dear. No one every truly dies. There is a place for every soul to go after death. But you did die temporarily. And should you accept my offer, I could make it permanent.”
“No!” She refused immediately. “Please, you have to send me back.” A confused face looked back at her.
“Why do you want to go back to lead a life of immortality and death, when you can live a peaceful one here. When you were alive, you kept the balance of nature perfectly with your witch powers. Even when your throat burned for human blood after your transformation, you refused to take a drop of blood, until your father threatened to hurt your twin. You are a perfect candidate to become a spirit.”
“Thank you.” Aleksios spoke, flattered. “But it is for that exact reason, for my twin, that I can not accept your offer. I would not be able to be at peace without Nik or any of my family members by my side. And even if I had my twin’s blessing, how could I be content, knowing that he would be alone?”
The woman had a soft smile on her fact as she looked at the blonde. “You, Aleksios, are one of a kind. Don’t ever change.”
“So, you will send me back?” She asked hopefully.
“Yes, I will. But, I shall give you a gift. The gift of being able to withstand any form of magic.” Dreah declared, touched by the blonde girl’s loyalty to her family. It is not something you see very often. “And if you ever need help along the way, all you have to do is call out to us.” With a wave of the dark haired woman’s hand, she send Aleksios back into her body, and she gasped awake.
I took my hands away from Davina’s temple and rested my forehead against hers, still affected by the binding of my werewolf side and Mikael’s beatings after a thousand years. She wrapped her arms around my waist and I sighed in content as she began rubbing her hands up and down my back.
“I’m so sorry you had to go through all that.” The brunette beauty said, referring to my death and transition. I opened my eyes, locking them on hers.

“It’s not your fault, love.” I told her with a sad smile. “Besides, if I didn’t go through all that, I wouldn’t have met you.” I told her, pulling my head away. “So all in all, looking at it like that, it was worth it. If meeting you was the universes way of repaying me for a thousand years of darkness and death, then all of it was worth it. And I’d go through it again in a heartbeat, as long as you’re waiting for me on the other side.” Tears welled up in her eyes and she leaned forward to kiss me.
“I love you. So much. Always remember that.” She mumbled emotionally against my lips.
“Forever.” I promised.
“Forever and a day.” She swore and I nodded before picking her up and speeding her to our bedroom.

“Hey Aleksios, you remember my new friend, Kaleb?” Davina yelled to me from our bathroom. Like I could forget him, he’s been texting her the whole day.
“Yes, I do.”
“We’ll he invited me for dinner.” She told me walking out of the bathroom and my head snapped to her. An inaudible growl ripped from my lips. There was no way I was going to let that happen. Call me possessive or moronic, but I’m not letting a guy with ulterior motives near my girl. Not that he’d be able to get her anyways. She loves me to much too much to let anyone near her. “I told him that I would go, but only if I could bring my girlfriend.”
A delighted laugh left my lips. “That sounds like an entertaining evening for me and an uncomfortable one for him.”
“I take it we’re going then?” The blue-eyed beauty questions, clearly amused by my change in attitude.
“Of course, my love.” I answered with a grin.
We were all sitting at a table in Rousseau’s. I was having fun watching the boy squirm under my gaze. It wasn’t hard to do either. We were all getting to know each other, without revealing to much.
“My family? Oh, no. They're all crazy as loons. How about your family?” Kaleb answered and I grinned for the first time. Something we have in common. Who knows, maybe we’ll be able to get along after all. Davina shifts uncomfortably in her seat and hesitates before speaking. I looked at her, knowing that this isn’t a subject she likes. She once took me to meet her mother, about two months ago. Alice Claire nearly had a heart attack when she realized that her daughter is dating one of the Original Hybrids. And – according to stories she’s heard – the most dangerous one at that.
“Not much to say. Only child. My dad was distant, which is a lot better than my mom.” She answered shortly.
“Mommy issues, eh? Bet she's a control freak, right?” My girlfriend nods in confirmation. “Yeah, same as mine. She's the reason I stopped practicing magic for so long.” My head snapped to his. This was news. I knew something was off about him. I just didn’t know what.
“You're a witch?” The beauty spluttered, clearly shocked.
“Don't look so surprised, love. I didn't just ask you out because you're gorgeous. No, we're, uh... we're kindred souls.” The boy said. I looked at him in disbelief as anger washed over me like a tsunami. I growled and let my Hybrid face surface as Davina’s head snapped to mine. She knew I was about to go off, calling her love, was something only I did. It is my thing, and I don’t do well with sharing my things.
“Call my girl, love or gorgeous again and I’ll rip out your spleen and shove it up your nose.” I snarled threateningly.
“Can’t I give a compliment to her? Is she not allowed to receive them or something?” He questioned me, raising his brows.
“Compliments are fine, I understand that my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl in the world, it’s the implied suggestion I don’t like one bit.” I retorted with a harsh glare.
“Are you a mind reader now?”
“No, but I’ve been on this earth long enough to know when someone is interested in someone else.” I snapped at the frustration witch.
“Afraid I’ll catch her attention?” At his words, a laugh left my lips.
“You don’t stand a chance.” I told him with a smirk, reaching to take my Love’s hand and calming down immediately. He looked surprised by my change in attitude and I felt pride surge through me when I saw Davina nodding at my words out of the corner of my eye.
“What do you mean we’re kindred spirits?” She asked him, a little confused. Intrigued, I looked at him.
“I know your story, Davina. I mean, you're practically famous. You're the Harvest girl who told them all to shove it.” He pauses a beat. “I'm a lot like you. Don't really believe in rules and authority. Your courage, it should be celebrated.” He told her, smiling at her. She nodded before looking at me. When I didn’t look at her, she nudged my side. I turned my head and gave her a loving smile.
Davina's phone rings, interrupting their conversation. It's Marcel. I frowned. What did he want? “I'm so sorry, he'll just keep calling until I answer. I'll make it quick.”
“Want me take care of it?” I questioned. She stood up and shook her head.
“No, it’s fine. Really.” With that, my Love turned and walked out of the restaurant to answer the phone. I shrugged and turned back to the warlock, only to find him already staring at me.
“What about your family?” He asked, curiosity in his eyes.
“What about it?” My eyebrows raised.
“What are they like?”
“I’m sure you’ve heard the stories.”
He nodded, “I have, but I’d like to hear from a Mikaelson.”
“Okay. Well, let’s see. They’re all crazy too. There is my twin slash best friend, who I love more than anything, except for Davina. I love them the same amount, just differently. Then there is my eldest living brother, Elijah. He’s a pain in my arse, but I love him all the same. Then, my sister Rebekah. I’m a bit cross with her at the moment, but there isn’t something I wouldn’t do for her. Then of course there’s Hayley, the newest member of our family. I love her like a sister and consider her my female best friend, save for Davina of course.” I finished, hoping that it was enough.
“And the ones who died?” He questioned. I sighed, raking a hand through my blonde locks.
“My brothers Finn and…” I paused, it was still hard to say his name. “Kol.” I breathed and Kaleb got a strange look in his eyes. Almost one of familiarity? Or was it pain? “Finn was an asshole, but a brother all the same. I miss him, but it’s Kol I miss the most.”
“How come?” The witch prodded.
“He, uh, he was my other best friend. We were thick as thieves. Always conning witches into doing our bidding.” I smiled fondly as I thought about the times with Kol.
“Have you done it since? Con a witch I mean?”
“No.” I answered, shaking my head. “It’s just not the same without him. There’s no meaning or value to do it. Now, I just threaten to rip their heads off if they don’t do what I asked.” He smiled at me, almost longingly. I kept myself from frowning. There was something off about this guy and I am going to figure out what it is.
***
Alright, let me explain some things:
-Davina, Marcel and Elijah never met. They figure it out on their own. So, at the restaurant, Marcel calls her to confront her.
-There will be no, and I mean NO Kolvina happening. Mikael’s resurrection will be enough drama. Sorry for the disappointed ones. Davina’s betrayal is going to be the highlight, plot or whatever you want to call it, for the season. And of course if and how Lex will forgive her.
On the bright side, you finally know how Lex is able to withstand magic. Also, I purposely wrote it in third person narration.
Bare in mind that Klayley will be endgame people!
WARNING: The second part of the story is about to start. At all times during the reading process, please hold on to your device and resist throwing it at a wall. Also, please keep a roll of toilet paper near at all times, you never know when you might need it.
You’ve been warned my sweet ones.
Enjoy!
