《Her House, My Rules》Chapter 53

As soon as I carried her to the bedroom, her body translated her fears between the cold sheets. Her messy long black hair, situated in the middle of two white pillows, gave me chills. It reminded me of those long heavy nights, back in her old house, where I used to beg her warm skin to cuddle with mine. The center of her beauty was like Heaven on fire. I used to watch the flames, smell the fumes from afar but it was always impossible to turn down the heat inside her.
.
My fingers navigated upon her flawless face gently as I begged her eyes to expose themselves back to earth. The guilt was eating me alive, I felt responsible. She was in this situation because of my unknown actions. I wanted her to be strong but it was more like an impossible mission. I didn't even know how to protect myself anymore. I finally felt like a real man but failures were written all over my future. I was lost and I was drowning myself under the deep dangerous sea.
I want to make things right, Hazel. Please, forgive me if I'm not the perfect man. Sweetie pie, forgive my heart for craving yours so badly.
Woman, I confess. I'm in love with you and I can't stop this feeling that's growing inside my veins every second of every day.
Holy Heaven, Hazel, you drive me so damn crazy. It kills me to see you in this position. Please get better so I can stop torturing my own self with bad convictions.
"Ba... Babe?" Her voice was shattered. "What happened?" Her question woke me up from my thoughts and had my full attention on the edge of confusions. "What happened to me?" She repeated herself.
Thank God, she's finally awake.
"You had bad cramps," I spoke the truth. "And you passed out as soon as I placed my hand on your stomach." The base of my fingers caressed her cheeks slowly. "What do you remember?"
"I don't know..." She stated, impatiently. "I had a terrible stomachache and the next thing I know, I'm on our bed." She started explaining her recent tragedy.
"I'm going to call Dr.Pen." I proposed. "We need to make sure that the baby is okay." I panicked. "Are you feeling okay, my love? Are you hurt?" The temperature of my tone was out of energy. I was worried and all I wanted was Hazel's pure safety under control. "Here, drink that." I lifted the bottle of water against her lips. "You need it."
Hazel obeyed, without hesitation.
"You don't have to call Dr. Pen." She made a statement. "I feel fine now." She pulled me closer to her and shared a wet pop kiss. "You don't have to worry about me, I'm perfectly fine. I just want to rest my head on your chest and fall asleep in your arms. That's all I need tonight." Her words were pleasant to hear but difficult to apply. "Good Vibes only. Can you do that for me?"

Hazel, babe. Your words won't work on me this time.
"I care about your health too." I disagreed. "I'll be a bad boyfriend if I let this slide." I squeezed my thoughts inside her mind. "You need to see a doctor and that's final."
"Hawk, please." She faked a sad face. "Can we do that tomorrow morning? It's getting late and I really need you by my side right now. I want to cuddle with you tonight. I feel fine, I promise."
"I don't believe you..." I replied, gently. "What about the baby?"
"Babe..." She sighed, impatiently. "The baby is fine. I promise." There was a pause on her end. "Now, can you please come to bed. I really want you to warm me up right now... Please..."
"Out of the question." I refused, immediately. "You need to see Dr.Pen for the last time, Hazel and that's final."
"Please..."
"No!"
"Please, babe..."She advanced on the edge of the bed and grabbed me by my shirt with a rough pull. "Please, say yes." Her lips enveloped mine with a quick damp kiss.
No, Hazel. Don't give me that innocent, adorable sexy face.
I'm not giving in. I already gave my answer.
"Okay fine..." I finally agreed. "But if it happens again, I'll call him right away." I threw myself on the bed, by her side. "I'm all yours now..."We made eye contact. "Should I start unzipping my pants?" I gestured, pretending to evaluate my sexual thought inside her mind.
We both laughed. It was a joke but deep down, I really meant it.
Hazel knows what I'm capable of.
"You're funny."She gave me a silly punch to the arm. "I mean we can make love later tonight. I just want to feel your presence near me and have a good time with you."
What's your definition of 'Good time'?
"Do you want to watch a movie with Daddy?" My last word caught her brimful attention. A baggy smile played on her face. "You like that name, huh?" I gave her a little tease as I flew my fingers in her soft, pristine hair. "Babe, you're so beautiful."
"Thank you, babe." Hazel crashed her lips in mine, unexpectedly. "You're the best."
"Do you want to watch a movie or?" I repeated the same question but with a better version of cleanness. "We can do something else if you want to." My sentence was far from over. "We can go to a restaurant and have a romantic dinner. Maybe? You're better now, you don't have a cold anymore." I kissed her forehead. "Do you want to stay in bed?"
Hazel passed out a few minutes ago. I totally regretted every single word.
"No," She refused, softly. "I want to cuddle with you. Can we please just forget about our problems and focus on a positive future? I want to forget about everything. No prophecy. No Jack. No doctors." She made a good point. "No phones." Her hand reached out for my phone and placed it on the little table, next to the lamp, behind her. "Deal?"

But I wonder.
Where is Jack right now? Is he okay? What is he doing? I told him I was going to give him a call. Should I? Hazel, should I really follow your orders right now when my only brother is out there in great endangerment?
On the other hand, you're my baby girl. I want to be there for you too. It's hard to choose sides when you both mean the world to me. I'm deeply grateful to have both of you in my life.
It's a blessing.
"Deal." I agreed. "I'll call Jack in the morning to make sure everything is okay." I pulled her neck towards me as my tongue made its entrance inside her mouth. "I'm all yours tonight, babe..." I whispered between kisses. "You have my full attention."
"There's something I need to talk to you about." Hazel's voice howled in silent fears. "I want you to listen to me for a few minutes." Her tone was harsh and serious. "It's really important."
"Okay." I made a quick sound with my tongue. "I'm listening, Miss..." The headboard of the bed carried my back. With one knee bent, one leg straight. My position made me comfortable. I was ready for Hazel's upcoming words.
"Are you ready?" She moved closer to me. Violating my personal space. "Can I start?"
"Go ahead, Love," I replied, gently. "I'm waiting for you."
"Okay..." She let out a deep long sigh. "I want to start by saying that you're the best boyfriend and I want you to know that I really do appreciate the little things you do for me."
"Anything for my little baby." I kissed the back of her hand. "You deserve it."
"Can you please just let me finish?" She silently blushed. "You're making me nervous and I want to get to the point already." Her broken tone massacred the bad thoughts inside my head. "Baby, just listen. Don't say anything."
"Alright, fine," I exclaimed, quickly. "Talk."
"Okay, where was I before I was so rudely interrupted?" A smile played on her face. Hazel's smile was the cutest. Oh Gosh, her dimples were sexy as hell. "Can I talk now?"
Holy Heaven, hold me tight so I can resist from falling for this girl all over again.
"I can listen to your voice all night..." I pinched her chin gently, between my thumb and index. "As long as I'm staring at your flawless, golden face. You can turn your volume all the way up." Hazel rolled her eyes joyfully as she continued with her loving speech.
"Hawk, seriously," Hazel stated. "I really am trying to tell you something. Can you please be serious for once? I really need you to listen to me right now."
"I'm listening, baby," I promised. "You have my word."
"Hawk, thank you for being there for me." She started thanking me out of the blue. I wasn't expecting that. "Thank you for forgiving me and giving me so many chances. I know I don't deserve to be with you right now but I want to celebrate your presence in my life. I am truly sorry for acting so selfish in the past, for protecting myself with so many secrets, for destroying your life and for lying to you when you gave me your full loyalty. I'm not perfect." She paused in the middle of her sentences to collect the pieces all together. "I've done a lot of bad things and I'm not proud of that. This is why I made my decision."
"What decision?" My brows disagreed with her silly words. "What are you talking about?"
"Babe, I'm selfish." She blamed herself. "I don't want to hurt you anymore."
"You're not hurting me... Hazel." I expanded. "You're my girl and I love you." My words were floating in her ears but she was just not having it. "Do you hear me? I love you, babe."
"B... But..." Hazel stammered.
"But what?" I said, impatiently. "But what, Hazel?"
"I'm hurting you..." Her sentence destroyed me completely. It broke me down entirely.
"You're not." I tried to erase her bad opinion. "What are you saying right now?"
"I love you but I don't think I'm the one for you." Her words were cold and disgusting to hear. She was really driving me insane. "Honestly, I think we should break up."
Break up? What? Are you out of your mind, Hazel Brown?
Hell Nah.
"We're not breaking up," I replied, frankly. "That's final."
"I am..." She refused. "And I am leaving this house."
"Why?" I asked, desperately. "Why? Hazel. Why are you doing this to me? Why do you enjoy playing with my emotions? Am I not a good boyfriend?"
"On the contrary." She replied, truthfully. "You're the best but I don't feel like you deserve someone like me in your life."
"Why is that?" I asked, directly. "Please, give me a good explanation."
Hazel stared at me for a few seconds and exposed her malefic words in my face.

Where She Belongs
Looking at the motivational poster, I couldn't stop myself from snorting at the ridiculousness of it all. 'Why fit in, when you were born to stand out?'
