𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 Part 2.
Elena Gilbert is sitting on the porch of her family's two story Victorian styled home. She lifts from her seat when she notices the younger Salvatore brother walking up to her house.
"You're bleeding" Elena gasps two seconds away from rushing to get a first aid kit. Stefan lifts up his shirt to show the already healed wound.
"Of course" The brunette mutters credulously.
Of course he's fine, he's a damn vampire for crying out loud. Wow, and I was about to get a first aid kit, the browned eyed beauty scoffed humorously to herself.
Stefan peeked up at Elena before hurriedly returning his gaze to the ground, a guilty ridden look upon his face.
" I couldn't stop her- I mean I tried..." The green eyed vamp paused, swallowing thickly. He nervously scratched at the back of his neck.
"but she uh she completed the transition" Elena nodded slowly taking everything in.
It was silent for a few moments before she decided to break it by clearing her throat awkwardly.
"So what do we do, what do I tell Jeremy and Matt?" She asks concerned for the people she cares about.
Elena wraps her arms around herself as a chilly wind breezes past them.
"I'm going to find her and show her that she can live like I do. I have to make sure that she doesn't hurt anyone. I promise that Jeremy and Matt will be safe" Stefan declares confidently with a small assuring smile.
Elena offers him a tight lipped smile in return.
"I believe you, after all you are the vampire here" She jokes attempting to lighten the mood.
But in just a few seconds Elena's smile turns into a frown as a thought about a certain island girl comes to mind.
Just as Stefan was about to walk away the teenage girl calls his name. She waits for him to meet her eyes before speaking.
"You should go and see Maria- or at least...call her you know. Tell her that you still care" Elena suggests to the boyfriend of said friend. Stefan looks away shamefully.
"I would, but I can't-
"You can, whether or not Maria would like to admit it, she depends on you for comfort and support and while she's going through another tough trial in her life...you're ignoring her" The brunette reasons throwing him one of her infamous stern looks.
"I know that you may be...scared- hell I'm scared, b-but we can't let that disable us from staying strong and doing what we need to do" Stefan's eyes burn with unshed tears as he listens to what he needs to hear from the female Gilbert.
"You're neglecting her Stefan, she doesn't deserve the way you're treating her and I know that I don't really know you that well but this doesn't seem like something you would normally do" She finishes watching the broody vampire take in everything she said.
"Uh You're right, you're absolutely right. Um...thank you Elena, you really helped" the brown eyed girl sighed contently at the news as a wide smile broke out across her face.
"No worries, I'm just looking out for Maria" she shrugs subconsciously.
Stefan has the sudden urge to ask the girl about her obvious feelings for his angel. He couldn't fight the feeling of jealousy creep up his spine and wanted nothing more than anything to tell her that he was well informed of her emotions towards the Griffith girl, and that it was the reason why he distanced himself from Maria in the first place, but he bit his tongue nonetheless.

"Goodnight Elena" he smiled tightly. Elena returned the gesture with a small smile.
"Goodnight Stefan" with a simple nod Stefan sped off into the night.
I've been home for three hours sitting in my room watching Gossip Girl over again and eating a bucket of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Pathetic! I know I know. Elena called me about 2 hours ago that Stefan and Damon found Vicki and took her back to the boarding house. Stefan told Elena that Logan Fell shot them with wooden bullets before Damon killed him. So that means that the council knows there are vampires back in Mystic falls, they just don't know who and I'd like to keep it that way.
During episode 5 of season 1 my phone started ringing. I paused the show to pick up the phone and see it was Jac who was calling.
"Hey Jac, what's up?" I answered only to be replied back with voices in the background. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Uh hello, Jac?" I called out again. This time it sounded like the voices got closer, but I still couldn't make out what they were saying. Suddenly I heard a loud moan then the line went dead.
I chuckled with a shake of my head. If she's doing what I think she's doing I'm not going to bother her. At least she's getting some.
After I place my phone back down I get the sudden urge to pee, so I hop out of the bed and head to the bathroom. I do my business and wash my hands before heading back to my room.
I jump with a shriek when I saw a figure lying on my bed.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You scared the crap out of me!" I snap catching my breath while holding a hand to my chest.
"Well hello to you too" Damon waves mockingly. I glare at him. I march up to my bed and snatch a pillow from under him and hit him with it.
"Cute" He winks rolling away from me to the other side of the bed. I sigh in annoyance before climbing in next to him and back under the covers.
"What are you doing here and how did you even get in?" I ask snatching my bucket of ice cream away from his wandering hands. He chuckles as I stuff ice cream in my mouth until my cheeks were full.
"Well you're still under security watch, so I decided to grace you with my presence. Plus Tiare invited me in remember?" He explains while grabbing some candy I had in a bowl and popped it into his mouth.
"Right" I nod remembering Stefan telling me about their talk with my sister a couple days ago.
"So what are you watching?" He asks gesturing to the paused show on the screen.
"It's gossip girl" I replied back simply.
"Hmm, sounds like complete garbage" I snap my eyes to his instantly.
So my night consist of explaining Gossip girl to Damon who then still thought it was terrible so I forced him to watch it with me. After two episodes he said he still didn't think the show was good. And when he started talking smack about Chuck I simply reminding him that he was an old man who can't comprehend good tv shows because his favorite show probably used to be drawing pictures in dirt with a stick.

To which then turned into an argument on how society has dumbed down since the 1800s and I told him that his generation doesn't even have a say because they're all dead. But after his constant complaining I let him pick a show to watch and was surprised when he picked Grey's Anatomy.
"Hey Maria, I wanted to tell you something...it's about Stefan and-"
"Look Damon there's Derek! He's so dreamy" I sigh staring longingly at the screen.
"Sure, but I need to tell you that I thi-"
"Derek and Meredith are soooo cute" I squeal as I watch them kiss in the scene. I turn to Damon who was staring at me from his side of the bed.
"What is it you wanted to tell me?" I ask glancing between him and the tv while I took huge bites of ice cream.
Damon sighed in frustration before shaking his head.
"Nothing, just that Stefan and Jac are close to finding a spell in some of her aunts grimoires" He tells me with a tight lipped grin.
"Oh Okay" I shrug going back to the show.
"Actually yes, I do have something rather important to tell you" Damon says pausing the show.
I turned to him with a look of concern. Damon turned so that he was completely facing me, he lightly placed his hand on my knee.
"We did actually find something to help you" I furrow my eyebrows when he pauses.
"Well...what is it?" I snap impatiently looking at him expectedly.
"It was a scroll filled with the full prophecy of the enchantress written inside. It told us about how all supernatural creatures will seek you out for their own selfish gain and they will continue to feel a magnetic pull to you until you reach your maximum power by becoming a true immortal enchantress" I hung on to every word Damon spewed as he spoke of my prophecy.
"Okay, that sounds great! So how do we get me to my 'true immortal' capacity?" I ask hoping he would soon get to the point of this explanation.
I can feel a very strong but coming along and I wished he would just quit beating around the bush and tell me.
"Your enchantress ancestors would have to test you through a trial to see if you are worthy of becoming the strongest being in the world, and then only then- will you reach your full mojo" The blue eyed vamp attempted to joke, but his worry fought against him.
"So how do I get to the witch trials?" I grit out raises an eyebrow. Damon looks hesitant on continuing, but goes on despite his internal protest.
"You have to die" he spits out looking anywhere but at me. I feel as if my mouth had gone dry. My face pales as my heart begins to beat erratically in my chest, so loud that I can feel it in my ears.
I have to what?
"And even then..."
Oh god there's more? What could possibly be worse than death?!
"You wouldn't be guaranteed to come back"
That. That's worse than death...
"You have a visitor" Damon notifies from beside me.
After he informed me of the prophecy and all it's deadly glory, I decided to push it aside and worry about it tomorrow when everyone else finds out.
I groan out in frustration. I pause the movie we were watching before turning to the vampire with a huff.
"I already have you here, I can not possibly deal with anyone else" I grumble sliding out of the bed to put on some socks and wrap a blanket around me from a nearby chair.
"Hey! That's no way to treat a guest" Damon taunts with a cheeky grin, I roll my eyes as I make my way to my bedroom door.
"You're not a guest if you broke in" I remark with a smile over my shoulder before closing the door behind me.
I go all the way downstairs to the front door, but for safety precautions I check the window to see who it is first. And low and behold it's my boyfriend, forgot I had one of those.
"Green eyes" I greet stepping out of the house and closing the door behind me.
"Angel I-" Stefan begins but I cut him off.
"Wait" I say holding my hand. I grab his hand and pull him towards the front steps, I let go of his hand after we sat down.
"Proceed" Stefan sighs deeply looking down at his hands before looking up to meet my eyes.
"Angel I'm- I'm so sorry for pushing you away a little bit and giving you the cold shoulder, I was just...scared- of losing you and then I let my pride and jealousy cloud my judgement of things a-and I should have just came to you instead of acting like a coward. I understand if you want some space or maybe-" He pauses when I start to giggle.
Stefan looks at me bewildered that I was laughing while he was trying to apologize. I cover my mouth with my hands to tame my giggling.
"Sorry it's just- Stefan I'm not mad at you. I understand why you did what you did completely, I mean this is a stressful time and if the roles were reversed I'd react the same way you did. I've quite some time to think everything over and I couldn't be upset with you- especially with the Elena thing because again if roles were reversed..." I look at him pointedly in warning causing him to hold his hands up in surrender with a hint of fear flashing through his eyes.
"I would have reacted the same...if not worse. Plus this just happened to be our first obstacle as a couple" I grin widely at my words forcing Stefan's eyes to light and grin in return. I grab his hand in mine and bring it to my lips for a sweet little peck.
Stefan pulls me closer by my legs before placing them over his and wrapping his arms around my waist. I wrap my arms around his neck and lean on his shoulder.
"Do you think Damon's been listening this entire time?" The Salvatore brother whispers in my ear, I think about for a few seconds before answering with a shake of my head.
"No, he's probably too busy throwing insults and popcorn at the tv" Stefan laughs as the image of Damon throwing popcorn at a tv screen comes to mind.
"Why, What were you guys watching?" I snort in amusement.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
