《Kiss √》THIRTY-SIX

HIS sister was lying in front of him in a pool of blood. he ran to her. he cradled her in his lap.

"junmi, please wake up." he croaked.

her face was bloated. a bullet wound in her forehead. her body was cold, a light blue hue. a pool of blood rested aside her head. he didn't want to believe it.

he held her wrist, pressing for any pulse. there was nothing. she was already gone. a tear slipped down jin's cheek.

"junmi. don't leave me."

he wanted her to reply. he waited for her to awaken from the dead and hug him. she didn't move.

he continued to cradle her. his screams echoed throughout their quiet home.

"junmi." he cried, "what did i do."

he pulled her close to him. letting the red blood soak his white shirt. he cradled her for hours, frozen to his bedroom floor.

he looked into his window. he gazed at the stars. which one was junmi? he lost track of time as he gazed into the stars, clutching his sister tightly.

the front door creaked open.

"junmi!" his mother called.

jin opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. only cries.

"jin?"

his mother ran to his room. her mouth opened to speak. she felt her head going dizzy as a reeling sensation spread throughout her. she crashed towards the floor. she went out cold.

jin's life had turned into a nightmare.

the police showed up a few hours later. all the evidence was poked and prodded. they spent hours to arrive with a conclusion.

jin didn't sleep that night. his eyes didn't close as the grueling image of his sister flashed before his eyes.

the head policeman stepped out of the room. his hair was dyed a nice shade of blue. he gestured to jin.

"take a walk with me mr. kim."

jin glanced at the officer. the officer was definitely younger than him. jin knew that this wasn't a good sign. his heart pounded against his rib cage.

"all the evidence points towards you." the policeman sighed.

jin didn't speak. his words escaped from his tongue. they vanished, disappeared into thin air. he brought his head down in shame. he knew he didn't do it, but what was the point if all the evidence pointed to him.

"you're a good kid." he started, "i don't think it's you."

"i didn't do it. it wasn't me." jin chanted.

jin glanced at the officer's name tag. yoongi.

"yoongi." jin started, "i didn't do it."

yoongi closed his eyes, "i know."

in yoongi's tone was a sincere apology. the man in front of him had so much more time with his life. he shouldn't be in jail at this age.

"i'll give you a week before i take you under arrest." yoongi spoke to jin.

jin's eyes welled with tears. what did he do?

"what the fuck did you do, jin!" his father yelled, "we sent you to university to study!"

"i didn't kill her-"

"all the fucking evidence shows you are the murderer." his father screamed, "you fucking killed your sister!"

his own parents didn't believe him. what was the use. he packed his bags. he didn't say a word before slipping out of their home.

tears slipped his eyes as he got onto a train. he stared into the gleam of the moonlight under the rainy sky.

the principal averted his eyes, "we have no choice but to expel you."

jin brought his head down, "i understand."

all his years of studying had been taken away from him. everything he had worked towards had just slipped out of his hands.

jin allowed the fresh breeze to slip past him. his feet dangled over the edge of the roof. there was nobody else left for him. what was the use of living and going to jail. if only he just slipped.

"jin." the sweet voice purred, "what was it all for."

the voice was right. jin didn't know what it was all for. in the end he failed like always. jin looked at the cotton in the sky. he was going to join his sister in the stars.

jin hesitated before lifting his feet up to the edge. he would spread his wings and fly. each flying gust buffeted his stance.

he let his toes float over air. it sent a rush of joy through him. he was ready to leave this world.

"i'm almost there junmi." jin smiled.

a black haired man came behind him. his hands wrapped around the jin's waist. he pulled jin off the ledge with him.

"hey. hey." the man stared into jin's eyes.

jin's eyes welled up with tears, "why?"

"nobody wants me in this world!"

jin let the anger pass him. he yelled at the man in front of him. he unleashed his full anger on the man.

"its alright." the man justified jin's anger,"let it all out."

jin looked into the man's eyes. he wanted someone to listen to him. he needed someone to see him as a human.

"my sister is dead." jin's voice cracked, "and the evidence points to me."

jin took harsh deep breaths as he narrated his story to the man beside him. the man listened as the sky turned dark and the stars shined.

jin let tears slip down his cheek, "i don't even have a home now."

"i'm better off dead."

the man hugged jin, "you are not better off dead."

"life has been cruel to you. but that doesn't mean you aren't important."

he knew that the boy in front of him needed love. he saw a part of himself in him. he clutched the boy to his chest. he was sure he would be loved by his brother.

"you can stay with me." the man smiled a warm smile.

jin knew it was better than the prison. he nodded at the man in front of him.

he held out a hand for jin, "i'm namjoon,"

suho looked at the boy beside him, "you really do love them don't you."

"unfortunately so."
