they knew it, thursday had rolled in. after days of preparing, they were ready.
"i am so excited." taehyung groaned, "six hours in a car with you fuckers."
"don't even remind me."
jungkook slammed his door open, he dashed straight into the hall.
"what do you guys think?" he flashed a cheeky smile.
jungkook ran his hands through his hair, striking a pose. he sported a bright red as his new hair color.
"i fucking hate you!" taehyung screamed, "you stole the last bit of hair dye i had!"
jungkook shrugged. he high fived jimin, laughing at taehyung together.
"i'm going to go blind." yoongi whined, "too much red."
"it's too early for me to see this. my eyes are bleeding."
yoongi rolled his eyes. he couldn't deal with their drama at this time of day. the sun wasn't even shining and they were already arguing.
"taehyung?" namjoon called.
he pursed his lips, he only remembered taehyung having red hair. since when did the others dye their hair.
"yes?"
jungkook, jimin, and taehyung all turned at namjoon's call. jungkook slapped jimin's back. loud laughs escaped the duo, filling the atmosphere with giggles.
"did you see the look on namjoon's face." jungkook cracked up, "fucking hilarious."
namjoon glared at him, "please can you all get in the fucking car. we hardly have any time to waste."
"killjoy."
jungkook sighed as he trotted towards the car.
"about time you told them to shut the hell up." yoongi looked at the clock, "its 4:00 am for fucks sake. they're too active for this time of day."
"i call shotgun!" jimin shrieked.
jungkook huffed, "fuck you park."
jimin sprouted a cheeky smile as he got into the car. the others followed him, choosing random seats.
"are you guys ready to rumble"
taehyung shoved his foot onto the accelerator. the car spun as it dashed onto the street.

"oh god no," hoseok's voice drowned out.
it was silent. the silence was icy cold. it was suffocating. it gripped the air in their throats. six hours of this would be torture.
"lets share" haru eased out the tension, "why don't we share something about ourselves?"
"something we don't know."
heads turned towards each other. they were all unsure of what to say.
"i tried to kill myself once."
yoongi chuckled, "i don't know why i'm telling you this. but i trust you. i have a feeling you'll stay."
"he's a genius." his babysitter gushed at the boy.
instead of playing with his fellow three-year-old friends, he was reading. his nose was stuck in a book, scanning through the pages.
"he'll go places areum. your boy will do wonders."
his mother smiled at the three-year-old.
yoongi was enrolled in primary school shortly after, at the ripe age of four.
he sat in his mother's lap, his big doe eyes stared at his teacher.
"i'm yoongi's teacher. is his father coming?" his teacher held out a hand, "i would like to talk about yoongi."
his mother shook the teacher's hand, "the father isn't in the picture."
areum looked towards the ground. it had always been hard for her and yoongi to get through life, hopefully his teacher wouldn't have anything bad to say about him.
"i would like for yoongi to skip past a couple grades." his teacher started, "possibly to secondary school."
his mother tilted his head. she didn't want yoongi to be overwhelmed.
"he's not going to learn anything, the boy is wasting his time."
his teacher held up the sheet of paper, confiscated from yoongi earlier.
"what's that."
"random stuff he's been writing." his teacher tossed into the trash, "he's a genius, i wouldn't want that knowledge to go to waste."
yoongi frowned. he enjoyed writing the poems. what was so wrong with that?

"alright." his mother hesitated, "i would like for him to skip."
yoongi skipped to secondary school. he was able to graduate college before he turned 18. he had chosen to take a degree in criminology as a policeman to save people.
"yoongi." the chief called him, "your first case."
the chief handed him a folder. yoongi flipped through the pages, scanning through the evidence linked to the case.
yoongi stepped out of the room where the murder had happened. he gestured to jin.
"take a walk with me kim."
"all the evidence points towards you." yoongi sighed.
jin brought his head down in shame.
"you're a good kid." he started, "i don't think it's you."
"i didn't do it. it wasn't me." jin chanted.
jin glanced at the officer's name tag. yoongi.
"yoongi." jin started, "i didn't do it."
yoongi closed his eyes, "i know."
in yoongi's tone was a sincere apology. the man in front of him had so much more time with his life. he shouldn't be in jail at this age.
"i'll give you a week before i take you under arrest." yoongi spoke to jin
yoongi could not get the image of the blond hair boy he met earlier in the day. jin. he frowned, imagining the man in jail instead of spending his life.
"he's fucking missing! why the fuck didn't you take him under arrest."
yoongi shook his head to the side, that couldn't be true. what did he do?
"you're fired!" the chief hollered, "you let a fucking murderer loose!"
yoongi held his head down low. this was bound to happen. his heart was too soft.
within a blink of his eye, his whole world had vanished. his friends had disappeared. who would want to spend time with someone who let a murder loose? yoongi was unable to get a job, his home went broke.
"eomma." yoongi placed the bouquet of flowers on her grave, "i'm sorry."
his eyes welled up with tears. he imagined his mother's glossy black hair and her gummy smile with her eyes staring at him. he imagined her holding him in his arms, telling yoongi, everything was going to be alright. however, there was no one left for him. it was just him left.
"i'm sorry i couldn't be the boy you wanted."
he walked into the streets, unsure of what to do. he spotted a motel in the corner.
yoongi pulled out his purse, "can i have a room for tonight."
he smiled as the lady in front of him handed him his room keys.
yoongi took out the small lighter in his pocket. yoongi cocked his head to the side. he flicked the lighter, on and off. his eyes twinkled at the sight of the small flame. he allowed the light scent of smoke to absorb him.
"eomma." he looked at the ceiling, "do you miss me?"
he flicked the lighter on, dropping it to the ground. yoongi laid on the bed, waiting for the room to explode in flames. his eyes perched open as the room heated up. flames swallowed the room and smoke shot through the air.
"and you know." tears brimmed in yoongi's eyes, "that fucker saved me."
the blonde-haired man ran inside. his eyes scanned the room, falling upon the boy on the bed. he dashed towards the bed in the sweltering heat. he lifted the man carrying him outside the building.
"what the hell were you thinking?" he glared at the coughing man.
yoongi looked around him. a light smile spread across his face as he reminisced his past. he was lost in the distant memory.
"he fucking smiled. he held my hand and said, 'i'm jin ' "
