《Kiss √》FIFTY-FOUR

hands fell to her side.
namjoon's eyes widened. his heart slammed against his chest.
no. no. no.
she wasn't gone. she was here, in his hands. she was full of life. she was alive.
she wouldn't leave him. she said she wouldn't.
namjoon shook his head, "haru!"
there was no reply. his eyes swelled up with tears. she wasn't gone. he cradled her in his arms, hoping she might come back.
the second group burst through the door. the four of them dashed inside. they were covered in sweat.
they took deep breaths, gasping loudly. by the way they entered, it seemed they rummaged through the entire five stories.
"we found it!" jin shrieked, rushing over with a small needle.
jin took one look at namjoon's face. namjoon's widened eyes, his expression of shock, his guilt.
they couldn't be too late. she didn't leave them. she wouldn't right?
jin shook away all his thoughts. he jabbed the needle inside her, spilling its contents into her bloodstream.
the rest of the group ushered beside her. they glanced at her closed eyes and pale skin.
she was still kicking, right?
jin pressed his fingers into her arm, "there's a pulse."
"she's unconscious." jin stopped and started again, "it'll be up to her if she'll wake up."
it seemed like time wouldn't pass. the days would never go on. each day seemed barren, black, devoid of joy. each day without her.
even on the day of her funeral, neither of the boys could forget her tan skinned face full of happiness.
the sky mourned along with them on that day. seven boys stood cladded in black suits, with an umbrella over their heads. the rain poured with flashes of thunder and lightning.
their heads were down, staring towards the ground. each one of them believed it was their fault. the despair in their eyes was enormous.

there were no smiles. there was no happiness. only gloom floated through the air. a sense of hopelessness was all that remained.
each one took turns lighting a candle, placing it beside the casket. her seven flowers, seven angels.
the casket was open. it was stained a cherry red, the color of her lipstick. it was scented with a fresh scent of vanilla, just like her.
inside was a brown-haired girl devoid of life. pale skin and closed eyes. a girl they all cherished and loved deeply, now hand in hand with death.
jimin rose first. he laid his umbrella to the side as he walked towards the casket. his own shadows trailed behind him pegging him, blaming him.
jimin allowed each raindrop to crumble against his suit. in his eyes he held tears back, fighting back the urge to cry. he stood by the casket, looking at the other six.
"noona." he started, "she was my noona."
jimin looked at her body inside the casket. he swallowed the well in his throat. he needed to be strong for her.
"i couldn't have asked for a better noona. she protected me for years, made sure i was always safe. and if i could ever turn back time, i would do it all again. i would've forgiven her for the mistakes she's made. i would've spent more time with her. she's my calico cat, my angel."
jimin closed his eyes. he slowly sang, letting his feelings ease through each one of his words. he sang serendipity one last time for his sister, who loved to hear him sing.
"when you called me
i became your flower
as if we were waiting
we bloom until we ache
maybe it's the providence of the universe
it just had to be that

you know, i know
you are me, I am you"
and with that, the tears started to flow. they slipped down jimin's cheeks, crashing towards the ground. his lips shook as he took one last look at her.
one by one each man shared a story or memory with her. they shared moments of joy in an attempt to bring her back to life. but, it was to no avail. she was gone.
park haru was gone.
none of them had realized how important she was to them, till she was gone. till it became hard for all of them to move on.
namjoon was the last to rise and share his story. his face was puffy and red. she had died in his own arms.
"she was the love of my life." he started, looking down at her brown hair he cherished deeply.
"she beat me up to a pulp, when we first met." a faint smile washed over namjoon's face as he remembered the moments with her, "i teased her as much as i could. i loved to see her baby nose scrunch up at my snarky comments."
namjoon's eyes welled up with tears. he imagined her angry face, red and flushed, staring back at him. he wished she would wake up and hug him. he wanted her to caress her. he wanted all of this to be a dream.
in his eyes was regret, guilt and a wide variety of emotions.
"if i could do it all again i would confess to her. i would've made her mine. i would have spent all my living moments with her. i would have never let her in dangers way."
tears cruised out of namjoon's eyes. they mixed in with the salty rain. namjoon closed his eyes.
"park haru!" he screamed with tears, "i love you!"
haru's eyes snapped open. she gasped for breath.
was she dead?
haru looked around her. eight faces met her eyes. sighs of relief escaped into the thin air.
"oh haru." namjoon pulled her in close, "you really scared me, you know."
jin looked back and forth between the two and the other boys. he coughed awkwardly.
"ahem."
taehyung shuffled around.
he averted his eyes, "we're gonna like go to the car-"
jin glared at taehyung, "-we'll give you two some time."
the boys nodded and got up off the ground. they slowly exited the room, leaving the pair alone.
his arms wrapped around her, "you can't scare me like that."
a pink tone rose up her cheeks, rivaling her pale skin. her eyes danced away from his.
he cupped her face, gazing right into her chocolate brown orbs. his eyes inch downwards towards her lips.
he leaned in, kissing her softly.
their lips locked together.
she was in a daze at first, unsure of what to do. her heart thumped inside her chest, it thundered. she was soon sucked into his spell, kissing him back just as sweetly. her head tilted to the side, melting her lips with his soft lips.
after a while, he pulled away. his dimples flourished as he looked at haru's flushed face with a sweet smile.
"i like you, haru."

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Yet another ”reincarnated as a monster” story, however, this time, it’s a carnivorous plant
Bob was a very social person, however, he had no friends. he liked being with people, no matter how tiring he found it, and was constantly looking for new friends. but, he never did find any. he remained a loner for the most of his life, being social only on the internet where people couldn't reject him due to his frightening visage, and with his one and only friend, Muffin the snake. one day Bob was out for a walk, smiling and greeting people as he would whenever his and their eyes meet. shame his eyes were so cold and lifeless he would have scared off God Himself, had He not taken a liking to Bob. as luck would have it, this would be the last time he would walk. ever. what happened was simple. he walked into a sword. how this happened is irrelevant, just be assured that this took his life without fail, and soon Bob was no more. at least he thought so. heyo mayo, the Author Palt here, coming right in with the news. yes, I'm making another one and yes I am ashamed. however, I have a few good reasons. oneI've always wanted to make one like this and two, I've got a certain something coming up that i have to flex my writing muscles for. thus, I've picked up writing again. ain't it fun!? if you have any comments about anything like plot holes or unrealistic characters, just comment bro. Chasing Darkness
Lilith's first time parachuting at night was a disaster. Fictional Gods clashed before her eyes. Caught in the crossfire, Lilith traveled through Space and Time. Her reality was turned into her favorite childhood game, Pokemon. The beginning of journey shrouded in the Dark. A Pursuit of something Greater. *** Author Notes: As a writer, I enjoy the 'How' and 'Why' thing happen in a story over 'What' happens. This will not, however, diminish plot points in the story. Each Arc will be well thought out. This Fanfic explores what it would be like in a reality where Pokemon exist. Most other Fanfics are based on game or anime logic. I will be taking the point of view of a Progression Fantasy. I will try to update every Weekday at Noon Central. P.S. I do this for fun. As I am an amateur writer, I expect complaints and criticism. Anything other than constructive will be ignored. Well thought out Reviews, please. *I Do NOT own Pokemon in any way, shape or form. *I created the Cover in all its pixilated glory.
