《Distraction》The Black eye.

"Bucky..don't" You tried to grab onto his hand but he had already sprung out of the chair, launching himself to the front door. He swung the door open and grabbed Steve by the collar, throwing him inside the house and slamming the door.
"What the FUCK!" Bucky roared, his grip still hung around Steve's neck.
"Bucky!" You gasped at the sheer aggression. You rushed towards them both and tried to pry Bucky's grip but you couldn't.
"Bucky please"you pleaded as you saw the wrath in his eyes. Steve looked petrified. His eyes were wide and full of regret. As much as you resented him, you couldn't help but still find yourself head over heels for him. You still didn't want any sort of harm to come to him. He was still Steve.
"The diner?! Of ALL places! What, was you just trying to rub your new prissy and stuck up girlfriend in Daisy's face?! Pathetic!" Bucky continued to shout louder and louder. His voice scratching against his vocal cords.
"I...I..." Steve mumbles but he was frozen, too scared to say the wrong thing.
"Coward! YOU ARE A COWARD!" Bucky pulled back his fist ready to hit Steve and Steve closed his eyes, bracing himself for the punch. You quickly stepped in between, hoping it would stop Bucky but he was too into the moment to realise. His fist walloped into your eye socket and you fell down hard.
When Bucky realised what he had done his fist trembled. Now he was the one stood in fear. The colour drained from both the boy's faces and Bucky's other hand loosened on Steve's collar. Making Steve bend down to your side where you were screaming from the throbbing pain. Your one hand over your eye as you curled up on the floor.

Steve knelt in front of you and you felt his hand touch your face. You could tell instantly it was Steve by the way your skin flushed beneath his touch. As you look up with your remaining eye to meet his gaze you could see the tear fall from his face.
You gulped as he offered you a hand, pulling you off the floor and leading you back to the sofa.
Once the shock had resided in Bucky he quickly grabbed some tissue and ran the cold water under it before coming to your aid.
"Daisy I'm so.."
"It's okay Buck...it wasn't your fault" you wince as you remove your hand, your eye already forming a nice shade of purple.
"How do I look?" You try and lighten the mood but Bucky's face falls and Steve's jaw drops slightly.
You take a deep breath as Bucky presses the cold compress to your eye. You wince and flinch but Bucky holds you still.
"Why did you do that Daisy?" Bucky sighs.
"I didn't want you to hurt him..."
Steve immediately hangs his head down in shame. After everything he's done, you still try to defend him.
"You guys have been best friends forever. I can't keep coming in between that..."
"Daisy" They both say in unison. And you look up and give them both a small smile.
"See... my problems with Steve shouldn't be the cause for your problems with Steve Buck. I'm sorry I..."
"Don't you fucking dare say your sorry Daisy" Bucky scowls.
"Or what? You'll give me another black eye?" You tease.
"Not funny" Bucky mumbles.
"Sorry, too soon?" You nudge him and he rolls his eyes.
"You really are infuriating" Bucky laughs, making you laugh, and eventually, easing the tension for Steve to laugh.

After a few more minutes of silence Bucky releases the cold compress from your eye and you relax a bit more.
Bucky sits to one side of you and Steve the other.
"Well..the is uncomfortable" You can't help but giggle at the awkwardness.
Bucky and Steve both let out a sigh and you follow suit.
"What we're you coming here for Steve?" Bucky finally asks, with less aggression this time. Making you feel more calmer.
"For Daisy" Steve replies back. You were taken back by how confident he sounded. It wasn't like Steve to be so forward or direct.
Bucky scoffs "Thought you had Peggy now?"
"That's not what you..."
"It doesn't matter what I think Steve. She literally got Daisy fired and you sat there and said nothing" You take Bucky's hand and give it a squeeze. Signalling him to take it easy.
Steve notices this interaction and tenses with jealousy. Shifting in his seat.
"You wasn't there Buck..." Steve stammers out. His confidence diminishing once more.
"But I was" You finally speaks up for yourself.
"You was" Steve agrees. Nodding his head.
"So where is she? Off to rinse the sprinkles out of her perm?"
Bucky laughs and you don't realise but Steve smiles a little.
"I wouldn't know. I left and came straight here..." Steve exhales.
"My hero" You say sarcastically. But your stomach immediately fluttered. Making you mad at yourself.
"Buck, could you give us a minute?" Steve asks carefully.
Bucky turns in his place, his fists now clenched.
"Absolutely not!"
"Buck..." You say softly. Making him sigh.
"Fine" He grits his teeth before standing up.
You stand up and give him a hug. Steve looks away. Making Bucky roll his eyes.
He walks down the hall and closes his bedroom door behind him.
You sit back down and turn to face Steve, his hands were in his lap and he was looking down, lost in thought.
'Steve, if you want to talk to me, at least have the decency to look at me" You say abruptly. Trying not to break into tears and hold him close right there and then. You had to be strong. Bucky was right, he was cowardly and he didn't deserve your forgiveness. Not yet anyway.
Steve looks up and you can see how miserable he looks, he looked overworked and exhausted and your heart immediately aches for him.
"Daisy..." Steve begins.
You hold your breath and wait for what's coming. You didn't know where this conversation was going or what it would entail. But you wasn't ready.
