'...Steve' You whisper softly as you lay on his chest. His arms wrapped around you firmly. Not wanting to let you go.
You look up at him but he was already looking down at you too. He knew.
'It's time. Isn't it?' You ask gently. Steve nods.
You take a deep shaky breath and go to get up off him but he holds you tighter, making you let out a small cry.
'Hey' Steve coo's as he strokes your hair, planting a kiss to your forehead. 'Sorry' You say sheepishly. 'I know I was the one who said no tears but I...'
'I know' Steve soothes. 'I know'
Steve finally lest you sit up properly and you turn to face him. Cupping his face, 'I'm going to miss you so much, but I wanted to remind you how proud I am of you. You've become the man I always knew you were. Serum or not. You ARE Captain America Steven Grant Rogers. And it is an honour to call you mine'
Steve takes your hands from his face and kisses them before leaning over. Placing his one hand slowly on the back on your head while using the other to push you towards him. Your lips meet in a passionate but desperate kiss. Both of you longing for more time, but for now, you didn't have any.
Your foreheads leans against one another's as your breathing calms itself down. 'You're mine and I'm yours. Always' Steve says tenderly.
'Always' you say back just as hushed.
Steve takes a breath and gets dressed, you get yourself a bit more presentable too.
By the time you both get downstairs Bucky was already waiting.
'Morning Cap' Bucky says proudly.
'Sergeant Barnes' Steve says back just as happy. The two share a brief hug that ends with a pat on the back and then Bucky turns to you.

'I'll miss you Daisy' He gives you a sad smile.
You put your arms out and he pulls you into a hug that's more than suffocating but you didn't care. You laugh as he squeezes you before putting you down. 'But I think I'll miss your cooking more' He teases so you swat him on the arm. 'Which reminds me' You taunt as you make your way over to the counter. Grabbing a box and walking back over. 'It's Sunday...' You say playfully.
'Blueberry muffins?!?' Bucky asks hopeful.
You nod and he takes the box out of your hand as fast as you can. 'Enough for the both of you and Howard, not enough for six weeks. But definitely enough for the journey' You laugh.
Steve's face was speechless. 'I am forever in awe of you' He says as he exasperates.
You blush before leaning up to kiss him. That's when the horn beeps. Howard still waiting outside in the limousine.
'Steve...' Bucky says nervously.
'Give us a minute?' Steve asks Bucky.
Bucky gives you one last kiss on the cheek before heading out the door. 'Don't be mad at me if I eat all the muffins by the time you get in the car!' Bucky hollers out. Making both you and Steve chuckle.
'I'll call every day. I promise' Steve starts.
'Steve....'
'No. Every day. Without question. And if you aren't okay I need you to tell me. I want to know everything. No matter how small. I know your mother's court date is next week and I...I'm letting you down by not being there'
'Steve...'
'But, I can tell you now I won't stop thinking about you. Whenever you feel down I want you to look at that ring on your finger and remember that I love you. You're too precious for this world Daisy, and my God am I lucky that you're choosing to spend your life with me'

'Steve....'
'Yeah?' He finally asks quietly.
'Until the end of our days. Remember?'
Steve wraps his arms around you snd you embrace. Feeling his warmth for the last time. You promised you wouldn't cry until he was gone. You couldn't.
'Until the end of our days' Steve says back as he releases you. Grabbing his bag and walking to the door.
As you get out to the porch Howard rolls down the window 'America's calling Captain! Time to shine!'
You give a small smile and Steve blushes.
'I'll ring you tonight' Steve says in an uncertain tone.
'Yeah...yeah...'
'I love you' Steve blurts out in a panic.
'And I love you, now go. America's calling' You tease.
Steve leans down. Giving you one last kiss.
You watch as he gets in the limousine abs you give a salute as it drives and pulls off. You feel the tears roll down your cheek.
Once the limousine was out of sight you walk back into the house and you feel nothing but heartache. You couldn't be more proud of Steve but there was no doubt you wouldn't feel whole without him.
You find yourself climbing back into bed, on Steve's side. Still warm from where he lay. You curl up right in his spot and let yourself be overcome with emotions. Sobbing to yourself so hard that you drift on and off into a broken sleep.
