《Don't test me (chaeryeong x reader)》VI. "Whats in it for me"

"Are you fucking kidding me." I whispered. I looked at the busted front door and the dead butler. I quickly ran to Chaeryeong's room to see that she isn't there.
"Oh god this can't be happening." I whispered as I searched the entire house. This huge ass house, yet it doesn't have Chaeryeong. I groaned and hit the wall dramatically. I sighed knowing that I had to ask the one person I hated.
"What's in it for me?" Y/n said as she pretended to sleep. I groaned making Y/n smirk. It was the next day, bright and very early in the morning and this is the first thing she fucking says to me.
"You know how hard it was for me to sneak in here? May I remind you that's you're in a fucking cell?" Y/n looked up at me to roll her eyes.
"But I'm not as desperate as you obviously. You're sweating your ass over there." I stared at her offended at what she said.
"I am not- that's besides the point! Help me find Chaeryeong then I'll release you from this... jail thing." It wasn't much of a jail. There weren't any prisoners there except Y/n which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
Good thing about her being in her cell is that I can ask her for help.
Bad thing about her being in the cell is that I have to suck up my pride and admit that I need help.
"You didn't answer my question sweetie... what's in it for me?" Y/n asked again and stood up on her feet.
"I'll release you." I said firmly. She raised her eyebrow at that and tipped her hat back so she can look at me in the eyes.

"Release me and answer every question I ask you without asking why. Deal?" She took her hand and put it past the bar, wanting to shake mine. I sighed knowing that I'll regret answering every question but I shook it anyways. She smiled and nodded making me get the key.
The dog happily barked at me as I reached for the keys and unlocked her cell. She strolled out and stretched her back.
"Alright, lets go get a ship." Y/n said leading the way.
"Fucking asshole." I muttered out before reluctantly following her.
It didn't take us long at all to go to the dock because the guards were focused on helping the people.
"Yup, it sure must have been hard getting past nothing." Y/n said while jogging to the ships.
"Shut up-" I was about to say when she stopped jogging. I then rammed into her back because I wasn't paying that close attention. I mean who would.
"My shit." Y/n said and started to sprint back to the cell. I scoffed and ran after her.
"Why didn't you get that in the first place!" I yelled after her as she ran down the stone stairs leading to the cell.
"Because..." Y/n answered annoyingly as she saw her things hanging from a hook. I saw her sign in relief as she took her sword and pouch. She then smiled at me mockingly and lead the way out again.
"Idiot." I muttered again.
"I heard that sweets." Y/n said. I angrily shoved the hair covering my face and followed her.
This dumb bitch stopped again causing me to fall back a little. She then grabbed the bottoms of my shirt to keep me from falling back.
She then leaned into my ear.
"There's a guard up there... I'm going to hit his head and we make a run for it." I nodded while she let go of my shirt. She slowly went up the stair and held up her sword, aiming for his head.

She then slammed her sword on his temple making him pass out. Y/n then turned to me and signaled for us to run.
We sprinted for a bit before seeing the sea in front of us.
'How are we going to get a ship without anyone knowing?' I thought trying to get a game plan. The pirate immediately pulled me down, us being covered by the barrels. She sighed and looked at me angrily.
"What the hell are you doing?" I looked at her confused and pissed off at the same time.
"What are you talking about?" She then pointed to her left. I peered over to see two guards scanning the area.
"You were so busy in fucking dreamland that you almost got us caught." She spat at me quietly.
"Whatever." I whispered back. It was my first time doing something illegal, my bad.
"I thought you said all the guards were helping the town?" Y/n said preparing her sword.
"Well I guess I thought wrong." I said, not really helping the situation. She rolled her eyes at me and looked around again.
"Hey, cat eyes." I hit her on the shoulder for that comment.
"You didn't have to-"
"Shut up and look." Y/n said and pulled my body to see. There was another ship boarding, by the looks of it they were about to leave.
"Is that the Interceptor?" She asked me, I shook my head at her and pointed to another ship.
"That's the Interceptor." It was ten times larger than the ship Y/n was looking at. The ship that Y/n saw first was about to leave.
Y/n grabbed my arm and making me uncomfortable as hell.
"Can you let me the fuck go?" I whispered, we still didn't want to be caught. The pirate rolled her eyes and pointed at a small boat attached to the ship.
"Let me tell you the fucking plan dumb bitch." She said angrily letting go of my arm.
"You could've just shoved me or something? Don't you know my fucking name?" She smirked at me and shook her head no.
"Sorry kitty I kinda forgot." She mocked me while I slowly got angry.
"You're so infuriating to be with." The pirate then let out a quiet chuckle.
"How could I ever forget you Yeji? You were the first to come close in beating me at sword fighting. That takes some skill. You definitely don't have a sex life because you focus your whole life trying to beat me." She said. I hit the back of her head making her wince at the pain.
"I have sex you bitch and I don't train to beat you! I train to beat pirates!" I guess that made her even more happy as she held her hand in front of her mouth.
"Am I or am I not a fucking pirate? Gosh no wonder you need my help to get Chaeryeong. If you sailed the sea by yourself you wouldn't survive a fucking day."
"That's because I'm not a pirate and I don't need to do whatever you pirates do." Y/n rolled her eyes and booked towards the boat again.
"Whatever you say kitty, anyways. Here's what we are going to do."

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

Up In Space
New chapter every other day Iain Compton never planned to be abducted by an alien spaceship. It just… happened. And now he’s been awakened 22,000 years in the future and half a galaxy away by a pair of oddly human seeming beak nosed aliens and a space ship A.I. that seems to have more than a few screws loose. Oh, and then there's this gorgeous alien woman who he probably shouldn’t trust at all. His plan is to find a way home to Earth, even if its unlikely to be remotely the same; to find a better class of companions among an often strange and inexplicable galactic community, at least one who won’t use him or sell him out at the first opportunity; and to do something about the parasites in his brain who are supposed to connect him to a library the size of the galaxy, but seem to only be telling him that almost everyone and everything he comes across wants to kill him. But at least he can still send tweets.

Curse of the Reaper
The Void, mother of all that was, created two sons, Order and Chaos, to bring substance to her. A war will be sparked off between the twins that will, in the end, consume their mother. Out of the ashes of her corpse, the third and final Plane, that of physical existence would be born. Here they would wage a war that would span eons and worlds, until it would finally fall upon a seemingly insignificant planet. Bearing the name of its immortal caregiver, the Grim, Order fashioned him to defend this bastion of life from the hands of Chaos. His brother would play on the infant immortals fear of annihilation, and tempt him into the sacrilegious act of mating with mortals. When Order scrambles to try to right the injustice and preserve the balance, it is thought that all is well, but sins will always come back to haunt the Father. Now it will be up to another of his sons, many millennia down the road, to answer for his Fathers wrongs, as the race for the Throne of the Underworld begins in Book One of The World of Grim.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
