《BadBoy Tutor》Chapter Nine

Reece spared me a glance as I muffled my laughter at the name she used for him. He grinned down at the little girl and picked her up and I was almost in awe at how soft and gentle he was with her. That was until I noticed the woman behind him was smiling at me. She stepped forward, ignoring Reece and smiled warmly at me. "Come in dear, it must be freezing out there!" She welcomed me in and shut the door behind her.
I tried to not let my jaw drop at the beautiful house and my eyes scanned a huge, gold spiral staircase. "You must be Sammy." The women said and I was shocked.
He told her about me?
Don't be stupid Sam, he probably just mentioned he was tutoring me.
I chuckled. "It's just Sam." She looked a little confused but shrugged it off.
"It's nice to meet you hunny. I'm Amanda." She nodded to Reece who was picking up Ellie and wandering off. The small girl giggled in his arms and my heart literally melted at their cuteness. I turned back to Amanda. "Their mother, although you've probably gathered that." She chuckled and I smiled softly.
"It's nice to meet you too. You have a lovely home."
She grinned, the same dark green eyes sparkling. She was a stunning woman, with dark brown curly hair just ended around her shoulders and striking features. I guess i know where Reece gets his good looks from. "You're a lot politer than the other girls my son brings home." She frowned.
"That's because I'm not sleeping with your son." As soon as the words left my mouth I shot a hand over my mouth. "I'm so sorry."
Instead of glaring at me or kicking me out, she burst out laughing making me laugh along with her. "I like you."
I smiled wildly but didn't know what to reply back but she cut in. "It was really nice to meet you Sam but I'm afraid I have to go. Have fun with my son and make yourself at home."
I grinned in reply. "Thankyou." She called goodbye to her children and slipped out the front door. I really liked her and I knew we would get along well, not that I'm likely to really meet her again. After spending minutes in awe staring at the house, I decided to go and find Reece. Not knowing where to go because this house was a freaking maze, I walked in the direction I had seen the two siblings wander off into. I groaned when I took the first right and I was in another hallway.
"Where even am I?" I muttered, following the long and spacious hallway and pushing open the first door. Cole's house was a mansion but I never got lost in it. I guess being there so many times I knew it like the back of my hand. Inside the door was a huge room which I'm guessing was their family room as there were board games scattered around and two enormous plump sofas situated around a wooden table. Wow, this room was bigger than my entire downstairs.
Giving up on finding Reece, I found my lazy body absorbed to the most comfortable looking couch I have ever seen as I slumped down on it. I wanted to moan as the softness and it was one of those moments where you have never been more comfortable. Leaning further into the soft material, I let out a huge yawn and my eyes felt heavy. I knew I shouldn't have fallen asleep but my eyes wanted different. I was tired after that argument with Amber and I couldn't help but let her words get to me. Had he been sleeping with her our entire relationship? He even told her about where we had sex for the first time. Damn, I wanted to punch him so hard right now. No matter how much of a douche bag he was, who the hell did he think he was to tell her about our most intimate moment.

I hated him.
No, I despised him.
"There you are."
I snapped my head around to see Reece standing there with Ellie at his feet. Before I could even process what was happening, the little girl was diving over the sofa and onto me. "Oof." I breathed as she grinned up at me with her forming teeth and I couldn't help but grin back. She was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
"Are you Sammy?" She asked with a lisp and I spared Reece a glare for getting her to call me that. I would scold him later.
She was practically on my lap, twirling the ends of my hair around her fingers as Reece chuckled. "I think she likes you." His eyes twinkled with amusement and I smirked up at him from where he stood in front of us.
"That's hardly a surprise." I said dryly. "Everyone loves me."
He rolled his eyes and I ignored him, turning back to the girl who looking up at me with wide eyes. "Pwease play Barbie's with me." She turned to glare at her older brother. "Reecey's a big meanie and won't play with me." I smiled softly at her as she gave me puppy dog eyes. I stood up and grabbed her hand, grinning down at her.
"Lead the way."
3 hours later and I was now back in Reece's car. Amanda had just come home and as it was getting late so Reece was dropping me home. I spent hours playing Barbie with Ellie and much to Reece's dismay, I was glad I had done it. She took my mind off my anger towards Amber and Adam and just helped me to relax. It really surprised me how Reece knew exactly how to calm me down because I know if he had just driven me home I would have paced my room with clenched fists the entire night. We spent the majority of the journey in silence but it wasn't awkward at all, in fact it was just comfortable. I liked that about our sort of friendship, neither of us had to speak to fill the silence or we didn't have to have a boring and conversation just for the sake of talking. The car came to a holt outside my house but the car was still running.
I snapped off my seat belt and turned to Reece but he was already looking at me. "Thanks for the ride." As soon as the words left my mouth I instantly regretted it as I raised an eyebrow, awaiting the sexual innuendo to follow.
He gave me a floppy grin and I was surprised it wasn't his famous smirk. "Anytime buttercup."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Stop calling me that." I huffed. "I don't know what's more annoying. That or Sammy."
His dark green eyes glistened under the moon light. "See you tomorrow Sam." My eyes lit up but the teasing glint that he held made me suspicious. "ee." He added and I flipped him off and opened the door but stopped and turned back around. He gave me a suspicious look and I awkwardly played with my fingers.
"Um thanks for you know, everything you did today." I paused, gnawing on my bottom lip for the right thing to say. His eyes never left mine and I wouldn't be the first to break eye contact. His gaze was mesmerising. "I um. You know what, just thanks." I rushed out and slammed the door shut behind me and quickly walked to my front door. My cheeks burned and I hated myself for how I just acted. Since when did I ever get nervous around him? I could see him chuckle and only when I watched his car disappear I let out the breath I didn't even realise I was holding.

"Men." I muttered as I walked to my front door. I grabbed my keys from my pocket only to realise it was already unlocked. I began to panic, I knew that I had locked it this morning and I braced myself as I slowly opened the door. I tiptoed in, ready to grab a knife if there was in fact a burglar but the familiar cackle made me breathe a sigh of relief. I followed the laughter and narrowed my brown eyes at the two people who sat sprawled on the couch watching tv.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" I half-yelled.
Both heads snapped to mine and they both grinned at me. Cole was sprawled upside down on the couch so his long legs were hanging off the edge and Jodie laid on the other end with her feet resting in Cole's lap and they were both eating my food.
"Oh hey Sam." Cole grinned without even bothering to move. I narrowed my eyes at Jodie and waited for her to stop grinning at me like a maniac and answer my question.
She rolled her eyes and ran a hand through her black hair. "We were waiting for you."
I grunted and pushed Cole off the couch so he went flying to the ground with a thud. He winced and I smiled, taking a seat where he was previously sitting and pushing Jodie's feet away from me. Cole sprung up and glared at me, not taking his light brown eyes off me until he reached the recliner across from us. He slumped down and crossed his arms like a little baby who had been told off. His glare then morphed into a teasing smirk.
"So..." He trailed. "Where exactly did lover boy take you?"
I gave out a frustrated sign. "He's not lover boy!" I exclaimed angrily. Since the second Reece started tutoring me they had been winding me up and teasing me about him ever since.
"Whatever you say." Cole replied dryly and I glared at him.
Jodie chuckled lightly beside me. "We came here to check up on you after the whole Amber incident." She then grimaced. "What did she say to you?"
I tried to do that thing with my eyes to get Jodie to drop it in front of Cole but she seemed completely oblivious to it, waiting for me to tell her. It wasn't that I was embarrassed in front of him, it was just more of a girly thing. Cole wouldn't understand that for a girl losing her virginity is supposed to be special and romantic.
It was anything but that.
Both pairs of eyes were on me and I groaned into my hands. I sighed, knowing I couldn't get out of this. That was the thing about our friendship, we literally told each other everything. We knew everything that there was to know about each other. Obviously apart from Cole's underlying love for the other best friend. "She said that my dead mum would be ashamed of where I lost my virginity." I explained slowly, cautiously switching my eyes between the two.
"She what?" Jodie drawled slowly, taking in what she had said to me. Jodie knew all about what happened that night because as soon as I got home that night, I rang her straight away.
"That bastard told her about you having sex?" Cole yelled, jumping to his feet with clenched fists.
"Now you can see why I wanted to beat her to a pulp." I said dryly.
"I'm going to fucking kill him!" Cole growled angrily before turning to me and his eyes softened.
"Most importantly. I'm sure you want to kill him."
Before I could reply, Jodie piped in. "I have an idea. Why don't we murder him together and then we can force feed his dead corpse to Amber?"
I chuckled softly as they argued on the best way to murder the two. Jodie then snapped her head to meet my gaze. "Wait." She paused, scratching her head with her nail. "Do you think what she said was right?" She questioned, referring to Amber sleeping with Adam the whole time.
I shrugged my shoulders, staring at my hands. "It adds up I guess. He would constantly say that he had soccer practise even when I was pretty certain that he didn't but I never questioned it. And then he would say he was studying with a friend but never told me who. I mean, I trusted him so when he said he was somewhere, I believed him. God I was so fucking naïve." Jodie was next to me within a second and slapped my arm.
"Oww!" I winced but she ignored me.
"You were not naïve Sam. He was a liar and a fucking good one. Anyone would have believed him, he's a manipulative asshole and you know what, I'm glad you found him cheating. He can no longer lie to you and we all know he's so desperate for you back. He fucked up the best thing in his sad little life and that's one thing you can hold over him."
I nodded, Jodie was right. For the past month, he had been begging me to get back with him. Even though I told him constantly that I'd rather never eat chocolate again than kiss him, let alone get back with him and that was something. Chocolate was my favourite thing in this world and I got through a truck load when we first broke up.
Cole smiled. "I agree with crazy for once." She glared at him but he ignored her.
"No one could have known." He added and I nodded but I knew deep down that I should have figured it out. I shouldn't have been so self- consumed with my feelings for him not to realise that he was two timing me.
I hated myself for not realising. It made me feel physically sick that during that year we dated, every time he kissed me, he had been kissing her. It had only been a month but It was still such a raw subject. I hated him.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.

A new Power has come into the World and seeks to change it. Being on the last dregs of sanity and full of alcohol Daniel West receives an opportunity to seek revenge. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To live is to Dream is the second book of the Just a Dream series. You do not have to read the first to enjoy the second, but there will be recurring characters along the line. The first book features Mir, a man that dislikes how his current world appears and hence wants to change it. The second book will feature other people and how the changes implemented by Mir affect their lives. For those interested in my first book, it's easy to find it. Just beware that with the first book, it was my first time writing and there are a lot of grammar errors despite lots of editing, at least at the beginning of the book. The cover was done by Lmarief. I had requested something bizarre and she delivered. I have even used it as part of the story since her interpretation of my imagination was a bit different. Still, I loved it. As a thank you gift, I posted a link to her profile here for others who want a unique cover. https://www.royalroad.com/profile/220043
