《Pranking The Bad Boy》Chapter 24.

Ryder and I exchanged wary looks.
Something was definitely going on. From what Ryder had told me, Nick wasn't one to congratulate the other team without any strings attached. I just wish I knew what would happen.
"Ryder! Come here," Nick called and waved him over while sending us a big smile.
Most people looked pretty clueless so I'm guessing not everyone was informed as to what was going on. But a few guys were either smirking or smiling wickedly.
Ryder let go of my hand that he had been holding and walked through the crowd of people to where Nick was standing on top of the table.
Nick held out a hand and pulled Ryder up.
"Everyone, the captain of the winning team!" he called and held up Ryder's arm.
Everybody started clapping and hollering.
I'm sure you could guess that the loudest ones were our own team.
In the corner, I saw a few people walking along the wall to the back of the room until I couldn't see them anymore because I was facing away from them.
I caught Ryder's eyes and sent him a quizzed look.
He shrugged slightly in return, telling me he didn't know what was going on either.
All of a sudden, all the lights turned off and we were standing in complete darkness. People started yelling both excitedly and scared.
You know when you were in elementary school and you had an assembly or something. And then the lights would be turned off and all of the students would start yelling? Yeah, that's pretty much what it was like.
I turned and looked around. Even though it was pretty useless because it was pitch black.
Had no one thought of the idea to pull out their cell phone?
Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me back. These arms were definitely not Ryder's. They were much broader.
I tried to scream but the person's hand clamped over my mouth, muffling my scream.
I kicked and scratched at the person's arms and legs but he didn't seem fazed. The person dragged me through the room and opened a door.
How did no one hear a person being dragged through a room? They weren't all that drunk or high, right?
We got outside and I was finally able to see my hands in front of my face again.
The street lamps illuminated the streets and I saw two guys standing in front of me. They started to walk towards me with evil grins.
"Hello, gorgeous," one of them said in a british accent.
If I wasn't currently being held against my will and been in a different situation, I might have found it just a little hot.
"Can I help you?" I asked him.
"No. Sadly you can't," he replied with fake sadness. "It's really a pity I have to do this. I mean, you're such a pretty girl."
He stepped closer to me and I narrowed my eyes at him. I tried to take a step back but walked into the person still holding me.
"Oh well, I'll see you soon," the guy said.
Before I could ask him what he was talking about, I felt something hit the back of my head and then, just like before, complete darkness.

I caught Kennedy's eye and she sent me a questioning look, asking me what was going on. I shrugged in return because I had absolutely no idea either.
All of a sudden the lights turned off. We were engulfed in complete darkness.
People started yelling like immature children. Why? I'm pretty sure they've been in a dark room before.
I carefully hopped off the table I had been standing on. I heard Nick also getting off and then walking away.
Then I heard the opening and slamming shut of a door.
I reached in my pocket to get out my phone but in that moment the lights turned back on
I looked around and my eyes landed on the spot where Kennedy had been standing. Yes, had. I searched for her in the crowd but I didn't find her anywhere.
The lights got turned off again but the colourful ones got turned on and the music started again.
I sent Kennedy a text, asking where she is.
Maybe she just went to the bathroom but I have a feeling that it wasn't the case.
I saw Blake and standing against the wall and drinking out of a cup.
"Have you seen Kennedy?" I shouted over the music.
"No, why?"
"Because I can't find her."
"Have you even looked around the whole house yet?" he asked me with an 'are you an idiot' look.
I ran my hands over my face and sighed. "This house is huge! It would take forever. But I'll try." And with that I walked off and start to look through this mansion of a house.
You might be wondering, Ryder, why are you worrying so much about this girl?
Well, sure I've been with plenty of other girl's but this is different. She's different.
For instance, she doesn't chase after me or bow down to my every need like most girls. You ever heard of the saying 'you always want what you can't have'?
But now you might be wondering: Hey Ryder, then why were you such a huge dick to her?
Here's my sucky explanation. I'm not always a good person. I hurt people without even realising it. And she's too much of an angel to be hurt by an asshole like me.
I know, I know. Why don't I just change and be careful?
It's not that easy. You can't just change with a snap of your finger. And like I've said, I do it without realising that I'm doing it.
But, I'm willing to try and see how it works out with her.
I got back to the kitchen of the house. I was done with looking through it. Even though most of the hallways and rooms were off limits it still took almost half an hour.
There was half a bottle of vodka sitting on the counter top so I grabbed it and started to drink out of it.
"Any luck?" Blake asked me when he also walked into the kitchen.
I set the bottle down and shook my head. I ran a hand through my hair and exhaustedly leaned against the counter.
I knew something was going to happen today. So why did I let them convince me to come? Of course it was going to end badly. When does it not?

"I think Nick's got her," I told Blake.
He looked at me and crossed his arms over his chest. "You really think so?"
"You don't?" Blake knew about what had happened with Nick. Of course he did. He was my best friend. "I mean, why else would they want us here? It's not like them to just peacefully throw a party"
Blake groaned. "Why can't we ever just have a normal party." He turned around and walked to the front door, pushing and shoving people out of his way who then exclaimed in annoyance.
"Hey, godzilla!" I called out to him. "What are you doing?"
We walked outside to the front yard and walked to the street.
"I'm looking for your girlfriend."

Slowly, I was able to move my head. I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings.
I was at the playground where on the first night here we decided to go to that club, Neon Flash.
There were three other guys here. There was the british guy and the other one I had seen. The last one had broad shoulders so I'm guessing he was the one who had dragged me outside.
They were facing away from me and speaking in hushed voices so that I couldn't hear them.
I was sitting against one of the metal poles by the swings. After looking down, I noticed that I wasn't tied up in any way so I slowly and carefully got up, as to not make a sound.
Thankfully, I decided to wear my converse and not some heels that I could have gotten at the mall. Otherwise, it would currently be a little difficult to walk on the little wooden chip things that covered the ground.
Quietly, I walked away from the playground and to the path next to the benches.
The other three still hadn't noticed me so I turned around to run away but instead ran into someone's chest.
Idiot! You're getting in the way of me escaping this really poorly managed kidnapping!
I looked up the see who I ran into and rolled my eyes when I saw Nick smirking down at me.
"Of course," I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
"It seems like you have a thick skull. Most people would be out cold for another five to ten minutes," he told me, referring to the unconsciousness.
"I've been told I'm pretty stubborn," I replied and smiled sarcastically at him.
He chuckled and grabbed my arm, roughly pulling me towards where the other three were still facing away from me.
Seriously, worst guards/ guys who watch the kidnapee ever.
"Does anybody care to explain as to why our precious Kennedy was running away without you chasing her?" Nick asked when we stood in front of them.
They all got surprised looks on their faces when they saw us.
"She was suppose to be out for another five minutes or so," the guy with the broad shoulders explained.
"So?! That still means to watch her!" Nick yelled.
"Um, excuse me," I interrupted and raised my hand. "May I know why exactly I'm the kidnappee in all of this?"
"Because, gorgeous," the british guy answered. "Our mate Nick over there," he pointed to Nick who smiled friendly at me, "doesn't like Ryder. So instead of fighting and or kidnapping him, we decided to kidnap what was most important to him."
I rolled my eyes. "You do realise that, that was the most stereotypical and cliche thing you could have done."

"I don't get it! He's suppose to be here by now!" Nick yelled in frustration.
I was currently sitting on top of the little platform by the slide and dangling my legs through the bars. You'd think they'd make smaller spaces between the bars with little kids playing here and all.
Nick was furiously pacing around the swing set where british guy and the one I didn't have a name for were sitting. Broad guy was sitting down at the end of the slide.
I didn't bother to try and run away. You know why? Because I'm not stupid like all those people in the movies.
It was four against one. They were surely going to catch me and then probably even tie me up.
"I told you!" I called to Nick. "I'm not the most important thing for him. He doesn't really care if I'm there or not. Honestly, I bet he's glad to have me off his back," I said and inspected my nails.
Of course I didn't believe that it was true. I was just trying to get on Nick's nerves. It's not like there was anything better to do anyway.
He stopped pacing and stood in front of where I was sitting. Him still on the ground of course.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked him.
He looked at me like I was crazy for asking but then smirked at me. "Why? Thinking about leaving Ryder and coming to me?"
"Nah. Just wondering," I replied and shook my head.
He rolled his eyes and gent back to walking around.
"You know," I started. "I bet if you were just a little nicer and didn't kidnap people for fun you might even get a girlfriend."
"Will you shut up!" broad guy called up to me.
"Nope!" I yelled back, popping the 'p'. "What did you plan on doing anyway if Ryder had gotten here?"
Nobody answered so I picked up some of the little wooden chip things and started to throw them at broad guy who was still sitting at the bottom of the slide.
I know. Probably not the best thing to do when being held captive by four guys who could easily kill me but I was bored.
Broad guy spun around furiously, with a murdering look.
I rolled my eyes. "Jeez. What's got your panties in a twist?"
"You little--!"
"Enough!" Nick called. "I'm seriously starting to regret not bringing duct tape."
"Well if you regret doing this why don't you let me leave and we forget all about this," I suggested.
He was about to answer but that's when british guy and no name guy fell unconsciously off the swings and to the ground.
I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Kill the Harem
I was never a person who struggled with anything. Whatever I wanted to achieve, I achieved, except for finding a good reason for living. That was until I died. Perhaps it was karma, or perhaps it was some particularly sick god. I woke up in a world full of magic and encountered all these women who became romantically obsessed with me. It bears an uncanny resemblance to those garbage isekai series that I had the misfortune of reading in high school. The problem is, I loathe isekai. It got to the point where ever time I read about a busty elf-girl wanting to follow the protagonist, I wanted to throw something. It's illogical and it ruins the flow of the story. But now, I'm the one getting harassed by such illogical people? What complete and utter drivel. If any obsessive crazy person tries to make me theirs without even caring about my opinion, I'll f*cking kill them! I'll kill them all! I'm getting back home no matter what. My favorite manga hasn't finished yet and I want to read it to the end. Q&A Section Q: Is the protagonist mentally healthy? A: No, not even close. Q: Are all the female characters stupid? A: Barring extenuating circumstances, nobody rational would fall for a guy like the protagonist, so there's a bit of selection bias going on here. Q: Is this about a Gary Stu killing a bunch of irrational harem characters in a cliche isekai world? A: Go reread the title and the synopsis. Q: Do the women die because they won't sleep with the protagonist? A: No. I'm not sure where anyone got that from since it's entirely the opposite of what happens.

Interface
Welcome to the World-City of Thousel, the sixth iteration of life on the planet. These are the recordings of the people of Thousel. Thousel is believed to be the second longest iteration of life, and the overall most prosperous compared to what we know about the past five iterations. Medicine and technology have all progressed abundantly, and the world itself has been turned into one great city, governed and managed by the Governmental-Company Alliance, or the GCA.These particular recordings concern the discovery of a peculiar machine. When two very different people find themselves bound by the fate of one mysterious bot, life in the World-City begins to change… Interface is a cyberpunk webnovel set in an ecumenopolis world where people evolved with electro-sensory abilities. These senses shape the face of modern technology and life in a world where the three largest corporations run what has effectively become the government. Each of these three companies control various aspects of life in the city, and they all constantly vie for domain and power over one another. The world stands at the precipice of biological, technological, and historical breakthrough. After decades of study into microbiology, archaeology, and geology, it has been discovered that sentient life has lived on the planet multiple times over. These past peoples are referred to as the “prior iterations of life,” and it is believed that five great civilizations were constructed before the rise of the modern world. No one can be sure for certain what caused these peoples’ extinction long ago, and the theories range from simply dying off over time to massive tectonic fractures in the face of the planet. Advanced technology, far more complicated than anything the people possess today, has been uncovered in multiple locations. This has lead scholars to speculate on exactly how long each iteration of life survived and how far they progressed as a society. None of the companies have been able to find a way to make this ancient technology work for their own profit. It is as though they are each missing the final key needed to unlock these centuries old secrets. What could this knowledge reveal about the nature of life across every iteration? What power could it give to the one who wields it?Far from the investigation into the origin of life, two kids unlock a new mystery – one that ties their fates to the discovery of an old, mysterious robot. Suddenly, eyes begin to turn towards them as life in the city of Thousel changes wherever they go…
