you looked in concern at your old asgardian friend, you knew by the way he was acting that loki wasn't there, it was someone, or something else. you had known him for almost his whole life, and you'd like to say you'd gotten pretty damn good at knowing what he does and what he says.

"loki, this isn't you."

"but isn't it, darling?" he asked, turning from looking at the sky to looking at you, tied up in chains on a chair. "maybe this is what i wanted all along, i was simply just a magnificent liar, ever think of that?" he spoke, a little too calmly for your liking.

"no, i know the man that is my best friend is somewhere in there, just not now." loki chuckled, stepping over and hovering over you.

"i am your best friend, darling, now tell me, where does stark keep all his explosives?"

"you are most certainly not loki, and don't you remember? he stopped production years ago." he howled in pain as you stomped hard on his foot, using the last bit of your remaining strength to get up and hit him hard with the chair you were bound to, knocking him out onto the ground.

"you're not loki, and you're sure as hell not my best friend."
