peter smiled at the small pendant, it was a spider. he knew you loved spiderman, and didn't know that he was spiderman. he hoped that he could give it to you on your date that night to try and soften the blow of telling you that he was spiderman.

later....

"ned, i can't wait to tell y/n! but... what if they freak out and break up with me?"

"tell me what?"

you emerged from the doorway, ned quickly left the room, avoiding a possible couple fight.

"um- here..." he said, giving you the pendant. he smiled, seeing your face light up. "i'm spiderman."

the pendant dropped, peter using his spidey-sense and quickly catching it before it hit the ground, looking back at you.

"oh my god... i've been gushing to you about how much i love you! but- oh my god, i'm dating spiderman..."

"hey," peter said, grasping your hands. "if you want to break up, i understand-"

"break up? are you kidding me! you're taking me swinging around new york right now, yknow, to pay for lying to me."

he clasped the necklace around your neck. "i love you, so much."
