the lights surrounding you were breathtaking as you stood on the side of the gym. people were beginning to file in as the music kicked in, making you sway slightly on your heels.
peter looked over to you over ned's shoulder, trying to convince himself that you'd say 'yes' if he asked you to dance at the next slow song.
"how're you gonna ask them?" ned asked. "you need a tactic."
"i'm just gonna- be myself." peter breathed.
ned scoffed humorously. "yeah, okay- good luck with that." he laughed, taking it as a joke before sliding away to find somebody else to converse with.
peter breathed in harshly and stepped over towards you, ringing his hands together as his face completely flushed. "um- hi y/n!" he waved awkwardly.
you smiled at his anticts. "hi peter."
"would you like to dance?" he asked, holding his crossed fingers in his pocket hopefully.
"of course." you grinned, taking his hand and letting him lead you out towards the gym flooring.
