it's dinnertime.

the avengers sat in silence across the whole dining table. tony had introduced the 'great' idea of having dinner together, and it wasn't working that well. you looked across the table from you, locking eyes with natasha and smiling pitifully. you knew that she would rather eat dinner alone with you than with the rest of the team.

but, nevertheless, there you sat, picking at the plate of the 5-course meal that j.a.r.v.i.s. had prepared. you ignored the clawing silence, and instead tried to think of other things.

finally, the silence was broken after thor broke a glass. tony swore at the loud noise, steve said 'language', and the whole dinner table was suddenly filled with life.

you looked to natasha, picking up your plate and sliding it beside her. you walked along the table and slid your chair in to sit next to her, grinning sweetly at the woman beside you as you enjoyed a beautiful dinner with the avengers.
