footsteps circled your apartment building's staircase, and you saw the man that you knew as steve rogers walk up towards you. you gave him a polite smile and held your laundry against your hip, hanging up with the person you were on the phone with.

"y'know, i've got a washing machine in my apartment, it's much better than the one downstairs, if you want to use it." steve smiled.

you grinned, thankful that someone was kind enough to offer their machines. "and how much will it cost?" you asked, not expecting an answer.

"a cup of coffee?"

surprised, you nodded, the sides of your lips upturning in a bigger grin. "yeah, i'll have to take you up on that on my next load, but i've already got the coins." steve nodded in response, happy that he had gotten even a simple 'yes'.

"well, i'll let you be on your way, then." he spoke, letting you step away from your door and over towards the staircase.

you turned back around for a moment, furrowing your eyebrows. "um- i think you left your stereo on, by the way."
