Aliyah's POV

When I woke up, Ava was still asleep.

I checked my time. It was 15:15pm.

I might need to go back home to change.

I promised I was going to be with her the whole day and that's what I'm going to do.

I need to make sure it's fine by Mr and Mrs Davis

I pulled from her embrace cause she was tangled up with me. She made light snores

I chuckled

I'm definitely going to tease her about this.

She looked so peaceful while she slept. No hard features, just peaceful. Unlike the blank expression she has on almost all the time.

I had taken off my black jeans to feels comfortable. So I dressed up, taking one last look at Ava before gently closing the door.

"Hey" Ben greeted. Meeting me on my way down.

He looked confused. He wanted to say something but then he closed his mouth

"Hey Ben" I responded

"I didn't know your were around" he finally spoke

"Yeah I stopped by this morning"

He nodded, still looking at me suspiciously

"But mom said she's been sleeping since she got back from the hospital. she usually don't wake up till like midnight, on days like this"

It's funny seeing how he's trying to draw out a reason to why I'm at his house. Let it go Ben. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his obliviousness

"Yes I know" I answered simply.

"I would like the head out if you don't mind" i chuckled. He was still basically blocking me

"Oh yeah sorry"

"It's fine" I smiled

"You're leaving?" Ms Davis questioned as I got closer to the living room.

She was holding a cup of coffee on one hand and her phone on the other.

"Yeah, I just need to. Is it ok if I spend the night? I don't know if Ava mentioned it, but we.."

"She did" she replied making me stop

She smiled brightly

"Ava seem to be fond of you. Which is a rear thing for my baby girl" she smiled, with this bright sparkle in her eyes, like she's trying to tell me that she knows something I don't.

I went home quickly and took just my night cloths, with toiletries.

When I got outside I noticed Carson leaning on my car.

I was instantly annoyed.

"What do you want Carson? The last time I checked i have no business with you" I said approaching him

He simply stood there with his arms crossed around his chest.

His gaze fell on the bag I was holding.

He readjusted his position, still leaning on my Car

"What's that? Have somewhere you've got to be?"

He spoke, ignoring my question.

I rolled my eyes

"What do you want Carson?" I shouldn't be wasting precious time with this jerk

"You" he replied as a matter of facts.

He stood properly towering over me in his full height.

This is stupid. What gives him the right?

"I'm not some property you can just have Carson. We're done and that's final"

I said sternly, walking over to open my car door. But he followed me quickly shutting it harshly

"Don't walk away from me" he said in a low voice, trying to mask the anger, clearly evident on his face

"Hey sweetie, is everything alright" Mr Joe our neighbor said as he approached us.

He had his dogs with him. Clearly he was talking them for a walk.

I was grateful for this moment. I hope he noticed my discomfort.
