《Hatake Pride》Part XXII

~Kashin~
We had to have classes outside for the next few weeks, I didn't exactly mind either way... being outside meant more fresh air... it also, however, meant we had to sit on the hard ground... which was worse than sitting at a wooden desk in my opinion.
"What happened next?" Inojin's voice brought me out of my own thought, looking back up to Boruto and Shikadai who were informing us of their eventful morning.
"So this dude then put his hands together like this... and blew fire at us. We managed to dodge though~"
"Barely..." Shikadai jumped in.
"But the look on his face was priceless! When he tried to blow fire at me again, Iwabe formed a wall to lift me off the ground and the fire hit that instead of me. I then jumped down and kicked this guy straight across the face, sending him stumbling back." Boruto explained.
"Did you beat him?" I asked, leaning back on my arms.
"Actually... he blew sand in our faces and ran off..."
"So no?" I tilted my head.
"I mean we chased after him," Boruto lay back on the grass and put his arms over his eyes.
"But when we found him he was unconscious in an alley with this kid standing over him." Shikadai finished Boruto's story.
"Did this kid take him down? How?" Inojin asked.
"I have no idea, but I'd like to find out," Boruto concluded.
"Settle down student! Can I have your attention!" Shino-Sensei walked out in front of the whiteboard we had set up for lessons, with a plate blue-haired boy following him.
I sat up properly, turning to face our Sensei with the rest of my classmates.
"This is our new transfer student. He's going to be studying with you all from this point on," Sensei explained the boy that stood next to him.

'Transfer? Like, from another village?' I leaned forward slightly, interested.
"This is Mitsuki, please welcome him warmly to the class." Shino-Sensei went on.
"Hey, that's the kid form this morning..." I heard Boruto mumble.
"Yeah, you're right, the show-off..." Iwabe added.
"This kid took down your ex-peer?" I turned my head to face the older ninja, pointing my thumb over my shoulder at 'Mitsuki'.
"Yeah..." Iwabe nodded.
'He must be strong for such a small guy,' I was now more intrigued.
Not only was this kid from outside the village, but he was also stronger than the average academy student... just like me...
"My name is Mitsuki, I've come from the Hidden Sound Village," He bowed.
'Hidden Sound?' I blinked.
I had learned about all the other Hidden Villages out there from my mentor and lecturers but I had never been, nor ever seen a ninja from any of them. What was this 'Mitsuki' like? I wanted to know... I wanted to know what it like outside the walls of the Hidden Leaf, was the world out there the same as in here? Or was it all different?
"It's understandable if you're surprised, seen as the Hidden Sound Village was established by someone who once plotted to destroy the Hidden Leaf," Shino-Sensei explained.
'What?' I blinked.
'I didn't know that... did Anri and Torune, keep a part of history from me...?' I was so confused... did my classmates know who that was... maybe I could ask Mitsuki about it.
Mitsuki looked over our class, his eyes fixing on the area my friends and I sat at.
"You said he was the one that took down that other guy before you could right?" I turned to Boruto and Iwabe again.

"Yeah," Iwabe nodded.
"He must be skilled. I wonder what Jutsu he is able to use..." Metal spoke.
"How strong do you think he is?" I asked.
"No idea... but I'd like to find out," Iwabe punched his fist into his open palm.
"Are you guys even listening?" Sensei called, frustration clear in his voice.
"The new kid's kinda cute wouldn't you say Namida?" Wasabi's voice reached my ears.
"Mmm-hmm," Her brunette friend agreed.
"Mmm not exactly my type but not bad I guess," Chocho commented.
"Ahhhh~ Everyone please be quiet during homeroom!" Sumire our, -class rep,- looked around frantically, waving her hands around.
"Haaa, please take a seat Mitsuki~ huh?"
"May I sit next to you?"
'Ah!~' I shifted my eyes to look over my shoulder at Boruto, Mitsuki sitting next to him.
'How did he get over there so fast?' I stared at the blue-haired boy in amazement.
"Ah, sure," Boruto smiled.
"My name is Boruto Uzumaki by the way," Boruto introduced himself.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Boruto," Mitsuki smiled a closed-eyes smile.
"Now you feel free to ask me anything you like..." Boruto rubbed his finger under his nose with a smug look as he offered his full assistance to our new classmate.
"Oh, anything?" Mitsuki asked.
That was a little strange... I don't usually say 'anything anything' because when that person says 'anything?' back questioningly... it makes me feel like, they might ask something that wouldn't normally be brought up, something uncomfortable.
I watched the two out of the corner of my eyes, my ears on full alert focused on their conversation just in case... of what I wasn't exactly sure, and I mean I didn't think Mitsuki was dangerous, not yet at least, but I was just making sure.
"Yip," Boruto nodded.
"Well then... Boruto," Mitsuki began.
"Why is it that we are the only ones without a classroom," Mitsuki looked around.
Boruto paled and the whole class laughed.
"Oh well, that's... cause...~" Boruto broke down.
"We have classes outside thank's to a certain someone..." Inojin answered mockingly, smirking smugly at Boruto.
The young Uzumaki growled and I cracked a smile, chuckling myself at the poor boy. To be honest, we were all to blame, but because Boruto was the lead the whole time, and was the one that picked a fight with Sarada in the first place... he was the one that took all the blame.
'Poor kid,' I shook my head, looking back at Shino-Sensei as he began the class properly.

Humanity Extinguished
I had the same nightmare again. The loss of my first life continues to haunt me, but now it aches like an old wound. A more grievous injury to my psyche was the losses yet to come and the inevitable hellscape I would return to again and again. Reincarnation is my curse. The lives themselves weren't all that bad. Losing people you cared about hurt and all, but even that pain was preferable to experiencing the nothingness between lives for months at a time. It was enough to drive anyone mad. Now I have to focus on breaking this horrible cycle. Thankfully I have all the time in the world. Trace is an average man driven by extraordinary circumstances in an indifferent and cruel world. His reincarnations give him a few key advantages but also take a heavy toll on him. He lives in a world where magic is uncommon and underpowered compared to the limitless physical adaptations you can acquire by getting your hands a little bloody. This story is one of hardship and terrible lows, but also monumental achievements and grand heights. The main character has flaws. While some of these flaws will fade with time, others will worsen. Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis. I plan to release 2-3 chapters a week.
