-------------------
The following morning I woke up calmly, something that I haven't done in the longest time. I usually woke up in a cold sweat, and out of breath, waking up from a nightmare. But, today was different.
At first, I thought what happened yesterday was a dream. But, I smiled as I remembered. It was real, it wasn't a dream.
I got up and began getting ready for school.
As soon as I entered the bathroom I heard a knock. I sighed and opened the door, and there was my dad.
Surprised, my eyes widened and he looked at me. Behind him stood my mom, and I was even more surprised. I left the bathroom and closed the door. I hadn't seen them together for the longest time.
"Deidara, we need to talk," mom said, sounding strained. I looked at her.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Just come to the kitchen," dad said. I followed my parents to the kitchen and they sat down. I sat down across from them and dad sighed.
"Deidara," he began. Afraid, I didn't say anything. "Me and your mom..." his voice trailed off.
"We're getting a divorce," mom finished off. I stared at her blankly. I must've misheard her.
"Uh, can you say that again...?" mom sighed.
"Things haven't been going good between me and your father." My eyes widened.
"What? I thought things were going good," I said, sounding involuntarily hurt.
"Why do you think we haven't been home often?" dad asked. I frowned.
"Work?" I said, unsure.
"I'm sorry, Deidara," mom said. She sighed again. "Please, don't tell your brother." I looked down.
"So," dad said, nudging me a little. "If you have a girlfriend, better introduce us to her before I leave," he joked. My face turned pale.
"Oh, dad... Well, I..." I tried talking, but I couldn't find my voice. Mom stared at me.
"What is it? Do you have a girlfriend?" she asked, laughing a little. I shook my head.

"No... but there's someone I like," I managed to say. Mom squealed.
"Really?! What's she like?" she asked, clearly excited.
"Well... It's not... she... I like..." I sighed. I couldn't talk, and I was trying so hard to tell them that I liked a boy. Dad looked at me.
"Well?" I sighed.
"I like... his name is Tobi..." I said. I looked down and I blushed. I didn't want to look at my parents. They were probably so disappointed in me.
"Deidara," mom said, sounding very surprised.

Tobi's P.O.V
I entered the school gates with Sakura and was worried because she was pretty quiet.
"Um, Sakura, are you okay?" I asked. She looked up at me. Her cheeks were red and she was frowning.
"Tobi," she said shyly. I stopped walking and looked down at her.
"Huh? What is it, Sakura?" She looked away.
"Well... I... I just wanted to say, that I really..." she turned back to me. "Tobi... I really like you, so..." My eyes widened. After a few seconds, I laughed a little and continued walking.
"Thanks," I said. Sakura walked again, catching up to me.
"No, Tobi. I mean, I like like you." I nodded.
"And that's really nice of you, Sakura, but..." I stopped walking and she came to a stop too. I turned to her and leaned down to her ear. I could feel her face heat up. "You don't know who I really am," I whispered, in my normal voice. I stood up straight again and continued walking, leaving behind a shocked-looking Sakura. "And plus," I called over my shoulder, "I already like someone. But, sorry."
-----------------
I walked into the school and smiled when I saw Deidara sitting down. I sat down next to him and he turned to me. Before I could say anything, I heard his small voice.
"I told my parents," he said. I looked at him.
"What'd they say?" I asked. He looked down.
"Nothing. I left before they could," he said.
"Well, you've got to face them sooner or later."
"What would I even say? I have someone I like. And I think he likes me, but I'm not sure because we aren't even dating," he teased. I smirked.

"Are you implying that you want to go out with me?" I whispered to him. His eyes widened.
"I-"
"Well I'm not saying no," I said, cutting him off. He blushed and I laughed.
When class ended I waited outside of the door for Deidara. When he came out I grabbed his wrist and pulled him outside. He gasped.
"Tobi! What are you doing?" he asked.
"Relax," I said in my normal voice. "It's fine. I just wanted to talk to you." He frowned.
"What is it?" he asked.
"You see... I was told not to tell anybody this, but... My real name, it's not Tobi," I said. Deidara looked at me, surprised.
"What do you mean? What is it?" he asked. I shook my head.
"I don't know. I've been having dreams, regaining my memories of my clan. And I know my name isn't Tobi, but I don't know who took my memories, and who's giving them back. I don't know who killed my clan and who spared me, I don't know who I am." Deidara stayed silent.
"I remember, someone told me in my memories, never to show anyone my face. Or what my voice sounds like, but obviously, that didn't happened," I said.
"It's probably difficult for you, isn't it?" he asked. I looked down. Deidara laughed a little. "Well, my parents are getting divorced." I looked up at him. He was looking down, and tears were forming in his eyes. I gasped.
"Hey... are you okay?" I asked. He sniffed and wiped his eye.
"Yeah, I'm-" before I could continue, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him close. I felt him tense up but soon he rest his head on my shoulder and he put his arms around me. I felt a few tears slip onto my shoulder, but I let him cry.
--------------
Deidara's P.O.V
I couldn't believe how weak I was being in front of the person I liked. But his arms, they felt so comfortable, so warm...
Tears fell from my eyes. I was so weak, how was I so weak? Tobi has it much worse, he's gone through so much more, and here I am crying for a simple little thing. I've never seen him out of energy, never seen him sad or upset, so how could I...?
After a few minutes Tobi pulled away and wiped away my tears.
"Deidara, I know how you're feeling, and I know that you want to be strong. But you can't keep you emotions bottled up. Deidara, you don't have to be strong for me," he said warmly. More tears fell and I hugged him again. Before I knew it, the bell for the end of the day rang. I heard someone running towards us. I pulled away from Tobi and turned towards the direction I heard the steps. I wiped my eyes and I looked up, and there stood my mom.
"Deidara!" she called. She walked quickly to me, and put a hand on my shoulder. She glanced at Tobi, looking annoyed. "Come on. We're leaving," she said, trying to pull me away. I resisted her strong pull.
"Sorry mom. I'm with Tobi right now," I said. She flinched at his name. Her eye twitched.
"No, honey you don't know what you're saying," she said. "You're going through a phase. You're interested in girls," she said, forcing out a smile and sending a dirty glare to Tobi.
"Mom, I like Tobi." She turned to me. I glanced at him and he looked down. He took off his mask and looked at my mom.
"Sorry to interrupt you, but I really need to tell you this. Ma'am, you're son... he may like me, but I..." I held my breath.
"I love him."
------------------
Tobi's P.O.V
I scanned her face for any sign of emotion, but her face was blank. After a few seconds I turned to Deidara, his face red. I grabbed his hand and pulled it, my mask in my other hand. We arrived at my house and I opened the door for Deidara. He entered silently and I followed after him. I shut the door and turned to Deidara who had sat down on the couch. I sat down next to him, and heaved a sigh, throwing my mask on the floor, which I did often.
"Sorry. My apartment, it's really small. You're probably not used to that, since your house is so big," I said. He shook his head, his face still red.
"No, it's fine. I really love this place, it's so cozy," he replied, smiling a little. I laughed. Before anything else was said, Deidara leaned over and gave me a small peck on the cheek. I smirked, and he looked away.
"What was that for?" I asked. He shrugged.
"I just... I don't know," he said.
"I love you too."
