It seems you've gotten yourself into a bit of a pickle. No worries though! There is a simple solution to this issue. Fortunately, though I can see how this may not be an ideal solution, your best option is to go back to your friend and ask about the characters. You know what they say, honesty is the best policy, so you can always just explain the situation and that you agreed without really knowing what you were agreeing to. It was a spur of the moment decision, and you still want to do it, but you need a little more information! Some clarity. I'm sure your friend will understand. You can also say something along the lines of you don't know how you want to make your costume and ask for help that way, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. The easiest and most reliable plan is to be honest and ask for what you need explicitly. That way there are no more misunderstandings, and you are both on the same page.
