The answer to your question is YES! A guy can definitely love you more than his first love. However, from what you've told me, it seems like he will always have a place in his heart for his ex. Don't compete with her; you don't have to. The way he loves you may be different to the way he loved her. Take it easy on the guy because his heart is clearly still on the mend, and it may need a lot more time. That's up to him. Maybe he is scared that you'll cheat on him like she did.
