Camp had been on edge since the failed trolley station robbery. Dutch had made it clear he believed Bronte had to be killed before you could move on and rob the bank. Hosea has also made it clear that he thought that plan was foolish. But you know Dutch, he doesn't take no for an answer.
Him and Arthur had gone out to come up with a plan to get rid of Bronte, but you had no desire to be involved. You killed when you had to, and despite Dutch's plan, you didn't think killing the man was necessary.
You were sitting under a tree right outside camp when you heard footsteps approaching. You turn to see Hosea greeting you with a smile. He sat down next to you and sighed.
"What's wrong Hosea?" You said noticing the exhaustion in his eyes.
"I can't get Dutch off the idea of killing Bronte. We need to get out of here, and drawing more attention to ourselves will make it harder." Hosea explained. You looked at him with sympathetic eyes.
"Listen y/n. I know about you and Dutch." Hosea started. You looked at him wide eyed. Who would have told him?
"Anyone with eyes can see he acts different towards you." He chuckled. "And I've know Dutch for years, I can tell when he has his eyes on a lady."
You rubbed your neck as Hosea talked. "I could tell from the second you got here, Dutch seemed somewhat happier. I told him not to mess around with you, but he never listens. What you do is your choice y/n. He obviously isn't listening to me, so do you think you could try and talk to him? He's stubborn so it probably won't work, but it's worth a shot."
You finally spoke up. "Of course. He knows I'm not keen on it either, but I'll try and bring it up again."
"Thank you y/n." Hosea smiled. Both your heads turned as you heard a twig snap behind you. It was Dutch.
"Look at you two." Dutch said.

"Camp was getting stuffy with all those fools, sometimes we need a break." Hosea replied.
"That I can agree with my friend." Dutch laughed. "Hosea, Could you excuse me and Miss. l/n?"
"Not a problem." Hosea grunted standing up. He gave you a quick look before walking back in the direction of camp. Dutch sat down so he was behind you, and pulled you back to rest on his chest. "So were you and Hosea talking about what has gone wrong with me?" Dutch asked.
"Nothing like that Dutch." You replied.
He ran his fingers through your hair slowly as you rested your head back. You didn't get much time alone, so you were going to take advantage of this time. A few minutes of comfortable silence passed before Dutch spoke up again. "We should go out and do something, like a proper date."
You turned to look at him with an eyebrow raised. "A date?"
"Yeah. We can go into town and see a show, I'm sure things have died down since we were last there. Or just go out for a ride." He explained.
"That hit to the head must have really messed you up." You chuckled.
Dutch slowly stood up. "Fine, if you don't want to take me up on my offer I'll go back to camp." He said sarcastically.
You stood up and grabbed his wrist laughing. "No that's not it at all. I just wasn't expecting this. I'd love to go."
He smirked. "I thought you'd say that." He placed both his hands on your cheeks and kissed your head lightly. "We'll go later tonight. I'll get you when I'm ready." Dutch explained. You smiled as he walked back into camp. You sat down again, the slight smile not leaving your face."

"Falling asleep on me?"
You eyes open to see Dutch standing at the foot of your bed. You didn't realize you feel asleep.
"Just decided to nap before we go." You responded rubbing your eyes. Dutch extended his hand to you. "Let's go m'lady." He said softly. You smiled and took his hand to stand up. You walked out of your tent and to the horses. You passed Arthur as you walked.

"Arthur, Miss l/n and I are going into town for a few things, watch over camp and make sure no one does anything stupid." Dutch said patting his shoulder.
"Will do." He responded. He looked at you and raised an eyebrow, knowing Dutch doesn't just 'go into town to shop'. You shrugged your shoulders, having no idea where your true destination was.
You made your way to Anastasia and mounted up, Dutch doing the same. "We have a bit of a ride, is that okay?" He asked.
"Yep, just glad to get out of there with you." You smiled. Dutch lead you back to the Heartlands, which was back towards Valentine. You honestly missed the time you spend at Horseshoe Overlook, it was a lot less chaotic. Dutch talked a lot about Bronte. About how they were going in through the swamps to attack. You didn't completely listen, but you nodded when necessary. After a long ride, you arrived on top of a large cliff, which had an amazing view of the land and wildlife below. Dutch got off his horse and helped you off yours.
"Are you planning on pushing me off?" You chuckled. He smiled and rolled his eyes. He grabbed a blanket off the back of his horse and laid it on the ground. You motioned for you to sit. As you did, he started to build a fire. You watched as he struggled to light the fire and got frustrated. You tried to help but he wouldn't let you. When he finally got it, she went to sit next to you.
"It's so pretty up here." You said, still taking in the view.
"I knew you would like it. It's much better than those swamps." He responded.
"When are we getting out of there?" You asked.
"As soon and Brontes gone, and we get more money, we will be out of here and thriving somewhere that really wants us." He responded, his eyes lit up optimistically.
"Dutch, are you sure getting rid of Bronte is a good idea? After Sean and Kieran, I just don't want anyone else to get hurt." You said with a frown.
He turned to you and lightly grabbed your face, kissing your forehead. "No one else is going to die y/n, I can promise you that."
You lightly nodded, hoping he was right. You looked back up to see him now smirking. "What?" You asked.
"We are finally alone." He said still smirking, his eyes dark. You got butterflies everytime he looked at you like that. You chewed on your bottom lip while looking up at him. He took off his jacket before laying you down, hovering over you. "Your so damn beautiful y/n." Dutch whispered to you before melting into you.

The sun started to set as you laid with your head on his chest, your head slightly moving every time he took a breath. "We should get back before people start to worry." Dutch said running his fingers through your hair.
"Mhm" you hummed, not really wanting to get up. You felt at peace. Just you and Dutch, no one else. You finally sat up, taking in the view one more time. You both stood up, making yourselves presentable, and walked to the horses. Dutch grabbed you by the waist and pulled you into a kiss. "I love you." He said looking into your eyes.
"I love you too." You smiled back. He held you hand as you walked and then helped you onto Anastasia. He mounted up and you started following him back to camp. The conversation on the way back was light, not talking to much, just enjoying each others company. You arrived at camp just as the sun set and got off your horses. "Let's do this again." You said to him while walking. He nodded and smiled at you.
"Well well well, here comes the lovebirds."
