《The Hybrid》Alive

Love Song by: SARA BAREILLES
Alex-
The warmth of the quietly crackling fire hits my face and I open my eyes. Colors consume me as I stare into the flames. I sit up slowly, taking in the large living room I am in. I sit on a large black leather couch in front of a fireplace that illuminates the area. Questions fill my head as I turn around to look at the rest of the room. My side aches and I develop a huge migraine. How did I get here? The last thing I remember is...
Liam. He kissed me. I kissed him back. No. Oh my gosh!
"How are you feeling?" His velvety voice fills the room giving me chills of happiness. I glance over and see him leaning against the doorway of the living room. He is wearing a simple white shirt and jeans along with a very nice black leather jacket.
"I'm alive." I breathe out. He lets out a small chuckle as he pushes off of the doorway and walks towards the small kitchenette in the corner of the room.
"When I threw us off of the top of the building, I wasn't planning on either of us 'dying', Love." He clarifies as he pours himself a small glass of brown liquid. It's probably some fancy type of alcohol.
"Well, you are an already-dead vampire, so." I grunted as I stood up from the couch. As soon as I was on both feet, blood rushed to my head and I felt dizzy. My knees went weak from the pain that entered my head and I began to fell towards the ground. In a flash, I was caught by my vampire savior.
"Careful, Love." He rang as he caught me with his vampire speed. He held me up and I wrapped my arms around his neck for extra support. Our eyes met with one another and my heart picked up speed.
"Do I make you nervous?" He observed as he could clearly hear my stupid heart pounding.
"No. I just-" I awkwardly began as we stared into each others eyes. My face erupt in a deep red blush in embarrassment. I became breathless as I got lost in his blue orbs. I could stare into his eyes forever. We are so close. My mind rushed just as fast as my heart as he held me there and we stared at each other.
"It's just-" I attempted to continue after a moment. "When you kissed that other girl, and then you- kissed me." My mouth blurted as I mentally slapped myself. Why am I so nervous? He gave me a genuine chuckle at my awkwardness.
"Was it wrong that I kissed you?" He asked, curiosity overtaking his orbs.
"No-yes. I mean." I began as my knees felt weak again. "I have a mate." I finally replied.
"Ah yes. The alpha Tyler. I've heard of him." Liam sounded casually.
"Yes... Him." I acknowledged. Tyler was my mate. He was given to me by the Moon Goddess herself. I was drawn to him. But I was also drawn to Liam. But this was probably because I haven't spent much time with him. It has to be! I wanted to be with Tyler!

"Then why do you say it like that? If you truly want to be with him then why did you kiss me back?" Liam questioned as he leaned in closer to me. My stomach fluttered as we were inches apart. A small part of me wanted to close the distance between us and be with Liam. But another part of me wanted to run and find my mate. Tyler.
"I-I don't know." I breathe out nervously. My heart throbbed loudly and I knew he could hear it clearly.
"So you enjoyed the kiss." He smirked as he observed my heartbeat. I was lost for words at his question. What if I told him the truth, that I really liked the kiss.
"Liam I-" I began but the door thrust open and frosty winds invaded the warm living room. My eyes snapped to the door as our delicate moment was just shattered by the intruder.
"This better be important." Liam growled in annoyance.
"Sir, your presence is requested in the meeting room." He instructed as he walked back into the snow, leaving the door open.
"We will have to finish this conversation another time. In the meantime, get some rest." Liam's voice stated before he sat me back down on the couch and walked towards the door.
"No. I'm not tired." I groaned as I tried to stand again.
"Try to sleep anyway." He spoke softly as he continued to the door.
"I want to come with you." I countered stubbornly. "I don't want to be locked in this house." This time Liam turned around to face me, his face contained a slightly annoyed look due to my in-compliance. He walked a few steps back towards me and his eyes locked with mine.
"Sleep." He compelled. By the time I realized he was compelling me it was too late for me to protest. My eyes grew heavy and my legs became weak. I felt Liam pick me up and lay me on the couch before unconsciousness overcame me.

Liam-
"We could contact Russell. He captured her before and is more than capable of protecting her." Jaxon suggested thoughtfully. The thought of Russell and the past we shared sickened me.
"There is no way I would ever let her go with the bloody likes of him." I hissed. Sure, he was capable of keeping her safe, but he would probably bargain her off or worse, he would turn her against me.
"What if we found her a sort of safe house. We could lock her in there until it was safe." Another one of my men suggested.
"No. She is not a prisoner." I argued.
"Sir there are no other options." I heard Jaxon state. My head ached from this long meeting. I sat at the large brown table in the meeting room as my men proposed what we do next. We couldn't go back to my mansion at this moment. Kai was most likely looking for us. He can't get a hold of Alexandra.

"Sir? Did you hear me?" Jaxon brought me out of deep thought.
"Yes. We should take her to the alpha for safety until I can rid the Earth of Kai." I gritted through my teeth. As much as I didn't want to return Alex to her mate, it was the only safe place I could return her to until I was ready to steal her back. I know that Tyler wouldn't let anything happen to her if he was anything like the stories I've heard of him. What worried me most is the fact that I knew he would retaliate whenever I decided I wanted to get my hybrid back.
"Then it is decided. I can contact his pack and announce that we are coming."
.
.
.
I opened the door to the cabin slowly and softly so I wouldn't wake her. It had only been an hour and a half since she went to sleep. I walked in and I was instantly consumed by the warmth of the fire on the other side of the room. I made my way over to the couch and saw her soundly sleeping. Her dark brown curls laid gracefully around her as she was curled up on the leather couch. She looked so peaceful as she slept. I was saddened as I remembered that I had come here to wake her. I bent down next to her face and gently brushed a delicate curl behind her ear.
"Come on sleepy head." I whispered softly to her. "Time to get up."
~~~~
Alex-
I was dragged out of a deep sleep by simple whispers. I felt a gently hand brush my face as my eyes fluttered open. Liam crouched down by the couch and smiled at me kindly. I returned his warm smile as I stretched and let out a sleepy yawn. He chuckled and then stood back up.
"Wait." My smile dropped as my brain reminded me of recent events. "You used your compulsion on me!" I remembered as I sat up from the couch, all sleepiness gone.
"Don't be upset, Love." He brushed me off. "We have to get going."
"No! That wasn't nice! You can't just control me like I'm a freaking robot or something!" I steamed as I stood up from the couch and walked over to him.
"You know, you're cute when you're pissed." he gave me a wink. I kept my hard expression, clearly not amused. "Lets get going." He finally rolled his eyes and broke our gaze.
"Going where?" I grumbled confused.
"I'm taking you back to Tyler." He stated as he handed me a jacket. I gaped at him. Did he just say he was taking me to Tyler? How did he know where Tyler was?
"What-why?" I gasped. I hadn't seen Tyler since we were with the hunters. I had been taken and tortured and then eventually Liam saved me from the lake and Kai said he escaped. After that... nothing.
"You will be safe with his pack until I deal with Kai." He informed.
"Oh so you're just dumping me on them like some child that you don't want to deal with?"I scoffed angrily. I can't believe him.
"Don't you want to be with your mate?" He yelled now angry as well. "You know, the one you're 'destined' to be with. All werewolves are assigned them by the Star Goddess or something."
"Moon Goddess." I retorted.
"Whatever." he spat. "Can we just go?" He said as he opened the door. Winds rushed in, putting out the warm fire with their chilly powers.
"Yes." I grumbled as I stomped out of the door. "I can't wait to see Tyler." I huffed as I got in a small black car. Liam walked around and got in the passenger seat and started the car.
We drove in silence through the small road in the snow. I was surprised Liam knew where we were going. I watched out of the dark window at the snowy pine trees passing by. Minutes passed by like hours as the silence screamed. The engine purred as we sped down the lonely road. A small part of me was overjoyed at the thought of seeing Tyler again.
Maybe you two can become more comfortable with each other, My wolf hinted with a wink.
Oh my gosh! I can't believe you would joke like that!, I laughed at her in my head. She could be very... suggestive sometimes.
"I'm sorry." I heard Liam breathe softly. My head turned towards him and my eyes scanned his face. He wore a solemn expression as he kept his blue eyes fixed on the empty road.
"Sorry?" I cocked an eyebrow at him. Was he apologizing?
"For earlier. I shouldn't have compelled you, I just- you're so stubborn." He groaned. I let out a chesty laughter at his annoyance. I'm stubborn? What about him?
"I'm sorry?" I continued to laugh. My laughter softened his expression and he relaxed a bit.
"I will forgive you if you don't do it again." I finally speak seriously.
"No promises." He gave me a half smile as he continued to speed. "We're here." He stated now serious. His face was cold as he got out of the car and came around to open my door.
I stepped out of the car and was instantly hugged by the freezing winter air. We were back in the SilverMoon pack, Tyler's pack. Liam's car was surrounded by werewolves from Tyler's pack. They all looked at us questioningly. Some shifted back to their human form and changed into clothes while others just stood there glaring at Liam. He was a vampire. Vampires were enemies to werewolves.
Liam stayed close to me as I looked around us at all of the wolves. I could tell that he was clearly intimidated by the crowd but something inside me told me that he could take them all at once. A small gap formed in the crowd of wolves as a man walked through. My eyes met with him and my heart raced.
"Mate." Tyler breathed in astonishment.
The Shattered Circle
Aleyr Frostborn has survived a hundred prophecies of her defeat, breaking each one by slaying the champions of light sent to kill her. Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
