《The Hybrid》Emotions

Alex-
Eight months ago I was worried about passing my classes. Eight months ago I would stare out of the windows in my lonely house and think about how alone my life was. I was never supposed to amount to anything great. Until my pack was taken over. The day all of my family was slaughtered; that was the worst day of my life.
I came face to face with my enemy, Liam. I met my mate, Tyler. After that, the worst thing happened.
I fell in love.
Standing in front of me now, Liam locked his eyes with my cold hazel ones. There was no way he was here. After all of the hating that I had done for the past 3 weeks.
"I've missed your glares, Little Wolf" He spoke smoothly, sending shivers down my body. My heart had blocked him out for so long.
"Go away." I commanded, my breath shaking. He took this as an opportunity to step closer to me.
"You and I both know you do not really wish for me to leave." He leaned in closer to me, his breath was cold and he smelled amazing. He studied me with his eyes in the dark light.
He can't do this. He can't just come back and expect me to melt back into him. Anger surged through me as I put both of my hands on his chest and shoved him roughly away from me. "You're wrong." I growled. I was not in the mood to deal with him.
"The alpha has turned you against me." He scowled as he slowly paced in the darkness. He erupted a sort of glow I had never noticed. He held himself in a new confidence as his figure had grown almost godly. Everything about him invited me towards him. He was a magnet pulling me in. "I feared this would happen if I left you here too long." He observed.
"Tyler didn't do anything." I spat. "I hate you and that has nothing to do with Tyler." I hissed as the words rolled off of my tongue. Sadness spilled onto his features as he looked me over. It was quickly covered by a smug look.
"I do not believe you." He rushed closer to me, pressing me against the wall. I was caged by his arms. He leaned in closely by my ear. "I do not believe that everything you felt for me has vanished." he whispered. My heart raced as I listened to his chilling words.
"Want to know how I know?" He moved his finger and pressed it against my chest, my heart. "Your heart speeds up every time I get close." He informed. A hot blush covered my face. This is embarrassing. "Oh yes, and that cute little blush that paints your face every time."

I squirmed under his grasp, uncomfortable with how easily he could read me. A small layer of my hatred peeled off leaving me flustered.
"What do you want from me? Do you want me to just get up and run away with you, leaving this pack?" I demanded. I searched his eyes for the answers. "What about Addison? Russell? Tyler?"
"Tyler." He hissed at the name in pure jealousy.
"As much as it may upset you, I love him." The words barely left my mouth before I was cut off by Liam.
"No." He closed his eyes in pain.
"Liam-"
"No." He repeated. He leaned closer to me, his eyes swarming with a vivid emotion. He was dangerous. "You can't love him." The pain in his voice broke my heart. He shoved off of the wall and paced angrily.
"Liam I-"
"Save it." He hissed. I blinked away tears that were forming and he was gone. He left me alone in the darkness.
"I'm sorry." I whispered into nothingness as the tears began to pour down.
*******
The next day was filled with darkness. A cloud surrounded the pack, a sadness for the lost ones. We woke up early and dressed in full black. Not a speck of color was showing only out of pure respect. I was dressed in a long-sleeved, knee-length black dress. My hair was pulled up by neat pins and my eyes were shadowed in a somber smoky eye. Small charcoal flats accompanied my dress.
When I glanced in the mirror, my eyes met with a patient Tyler. Where had he been all of this time? Liam had completely broken into this house last night and Tyler was nowhere to be found. I brushed my hurt thoughts aside as I focused on the important matters; the funeral.
I took his arm and he led me down the stairs and into the cloudy outdoors. The weather was brisk but warm enough that the snow was beginning to melt. There was no sun today, however. It is as if the Goddess herself knew this was a sad day.
We stepped outside and were met with the whole mass of darkly dressed people. In the middle of the crowd, several men carried coffins filled with the lost members. Tyler nodded to them and we began our slow sad journey through the forest to the area set up for burial.
We walked in silence for a several agonizing moments. The quiet was the loudest screams heard throughout the long day. Footsteps slowly tromped through the forest as we continued our way.
The silence was pierced by a small melody that broke through the crowd. Others slowly joined in, singing the sweet depressing melody. They all eventually joined in singing this foreign song. They sang of love and loss. It was beautiful.

We finally reached our destination, an area in the woods filled with wooden gravestones. The men carried the seven coffins to newly dug holes and gently set them inside the earth. The air smelled of sadness as I heard sniffles through the crowd.
"Yesterday, we lost members of our family. Of our pack." Tyler spoke to the crowd. Soft sobs erupted from women scattered in the crowd. "But do not think that they will go unavenged." He concluded. "Now, in honor of these members, we will all ask the Moon Goddess for their safety in the next life during this moment of silence." Tyler announced. The whole pack clutched their bouquets of flowers tightly and closed their eyes whispering words to the Goddess.
I looked around at all of the respectful wolves. Everyone in the crowd had their eyes closed in respect for the fallen. My eyes scanned everyone until they set on one out f place soul; Liam.
I blinked in shock of the sight, but he was gone when I opened my eyes again.
It's disrespectful to keep one's eyes open in prayer He whispered into my thoughts
Don't lecture me on disrespect!, I hissed inside my head, You probably ordered their deaths anyways.
He has made you think of me as heartless, Liam observed. My men did not kill Tyler's pack members.
Whatever, just leave me alone. I shoved him from my thoughts and bowed my head with my eyes closed.
The few seconds I had in silent peace weren't enough to clear my head. Tyler cleared his throat and gave a small speech about each member lost. My mind wasn't focused.
Everything whipped by and the next thing I knew, we were back at Tyler's house. Seconds had morphed into many moments. I had somehow survived the whole funeral.
"Are you okay?" His voice finally came clearly to my ears, snapping me out of my trance. I looked around us and we were standing in the large living room. It was dim indication that evening was here.
"Fine." I nodded reassuringly. "It's just, been a long day." I scratched my arm nervously.
"I know." He ran his hand through his perfect hair, ruffling it out of place. He was truly handsome, always. "Thank you for being there. It really meant a lot to the pack." He added quickly.
I gave him a small smile and it was returned with a half smile. He turned to leave, to go up to his room and crumble. I grabbed his muscular arm, tugging him back. He slowly turned towards me, his face displaying a solemn expression. "Are you okay?"
"No." His voice cracked out the shattering words. I looked into his deep eyes and I saw pain. I embraced him in a loving hug. "One of my best friends..." He sobbed into me, sounds of pure excruciating agony. We stood there for several seconds while Tyler regained his words and choked out his sentences. "He was one of the seven killed by-by the vampires."
My heart tore in half at this thought. What if Addison had died in that crowd. I wouldn't be able to live on another moment, another second. Addison is my family. I would die for her. I gripped Tyler tighter as I whispered coos and comforting words to soothe him.
After half an hour of comfort, he finally calmed down and I was able to convince him to go upstairs and get some sleep. I told him I would be up soon; I needed food.
Tyler made his slow ascend up the tall staircase as I shuffled through the fridge for something to fill my hunger.
I looked at the chilled continents of the metal fridge: Grapes, casserole, moldy avocado, leftover pizza, carrots. Wait leftover pizza? Yum! I snatched the pizza box from the shelf and slammed the fridge door shut. I quickly microwaved two slices and shushed my grumbling stomach while the microwave took years to finish it's 1-minute cycle.
The microwave finally let out a pleasant shriek, notifying me that my food was ready. I pulled out the sizzling slices and eagerly sat at the bar as I inhaled the pizza.
I sat, content with my meal. The room had grown dark now and it just occurred to me how frightening this was. The temperature had dropped a few degrees as well. I stood from the bar stool, facing the mysterious darkness. A scent suddenly hit my heightened senses.
Liam appeared from the shadows into full view. He looked positively handsome even in the dim moonlight. He wore a black leather jacket and a grey shirt matched with black ripped jeans. My heart fluttered at the sudden sight of him. Why was he here now?
"Liam?" I questioned, slight fear hit me for if Tyler finds out.
"I have come to a conclusion." Liam mutters quickly, almost as if him coming here was purely on impulse.
"And what is your conclusion?" I asked searching his eyes. Panic set in as he stepped closer to me and my heart sped up.
"You're coming with me." He informed, grabbing my wrist.
