Teddy PoV

We were at a family centre on a bloody Saturday morning, I remember that because it was the only day that was available for bloody months.

I personally didn't want to go, because then I had to deal with Megan and her fucking mother, because that went so well last time, I was smart and bought my Nana with me because she was the best option as she would know how to say shit without sounding arsey about it, you know.

"Mr Addams, Miss Grant, today we are all here together to discuss what we want for Rowan, Miss Grant will start"

"I want to have a mother/daughter relationship with Rowan"

"That's a good start, what about you Mr Addams?"

"As long as she has a stable family unit and she's happy then that's all that matters to me"

The therapist/family person looked surprised at what I said, I don't know why she was surprised because at that point I'd been the sole parent raising my daughter, you know.

"That is very mature of you Mr Addams"

"Thank you, look I know that you have to keep a certain amount of professionalism here and all but can you like not call me Mr Addams, that makes me feel so old, please just call me Teddy"

"Sure, Teddy, what concerns you about Megan coming into Rowan's life?"

So I take a deep breath and I began, hoping that I didn't have a panic attack while trying to get how I was feeling across.

"Megan says that she wants to have a mother/daughter relationship with Rowan but that has only come now that Rowan is in full time education, so I think that it's very convenient timing on her part as the hard part of teaching a child the basics of walking and talking are done, also how do I know that Megan's telling me the truth about her wanting to be in Rowan's life when she has lied to me before about parenting Rowan"

"Both are very genuine concerns Teddy, Megan what do you have to say to help Teddy with his concerns?"

I wanted to laugh, now I didn't because I'm a semi responsible adult but I totally wanted to, so I gave myself some brownie points at the end for that.

"I can't really help with his concerns because that won't prove anything to him, and to be honest with you his concerns come from a valid place"

"Wow, you actually admitted that you were wrong, Jesus Christ I never thought that you would do that Meg"

"(Clears throat), how about we hear from Rowan herself"

So then another lady came with Ro, I don't know who she was but I wasn't questioning it ether because we were at a family centre to sort out if Megan is allowed to come into Ro's life, (I was hoping that she wasn't allowed but again it wasn't my decision to make apparently).

"Daddy!, Nana!, I drew our family, look!"

"It's beautiful baby, so who's this?"

"That's Nana with her teapot"

"Of course it's Nana, who else would have her teapot?, so who's that?"

"That's Uncle Georgie"

"So is this you?"

"Yes Nana, and this is Daddy, I'm going to give it to Uncle Georgie because he doesn't have one of my pictures yet"

"Ok, Ro, see the lady in front of us?"

"Yeah Daddy"

"Well she has a couple of questions to ask you, ok"

"Ok"

Ro then climbed onto my lap, holding Nana's hand.

"Rowan, who do you live with?"

"I live with my Daddy and my Uncle Georgie"

"Who is in your family?"

"Daddy, Uncle Georgie and Nana"

"What about Mummy"

"I don't call her Mummy, I call her Megan"

"Ok, so what about Megan?"

"Well no she's not my family, I don't know her very well"

"That's fair enough, will you change your mind if you got to know Megan?"

"I don't think so"

"Is there a reason why?"

"Yes, because she hasn't been in my life until now, and surely if she really wanted to be in my life she would've come back before now but she hasn't"

It was hard not to laugh at what Ro said, but I think that would've made things worse.

"Have you done asking me questions now?"

"Yes, I have asked you all my questions"

"Can we go home now Daddy?"

"We'll go home soon princess"

"Ok"

So it wasn't that much longer, but it felt like an eternity, after it was done, we went on the tube home, as you do.

"Daddy"

"Yeah Baby"

"Why did they ask me a load of questions?"

"Well
