《Here comes Teddy》The thing about Santa... (Fourty-Nine)

Teddy PoV
It was the beginning of December, which meant that everywhere was playing Christmas music and every kid was talking about bloody Santa Clause.
I was standing at the school gates waiting for Ro to come out of school, which I did most days, it was cold as fuck outside, I mean it was so cold that I actually wore a hat, and I really fucking hate wearing hats, because they fuck my hair up, you know.
Ro then ran out of the school building and ran to me, I crouched down and held my arms out for a hug 'cause I knew that we both would've needed a hug in the weather we had.
"Hi Daddy"
"Hey Baby, you got everything with you?"
"Yep, it's right here in my bag"
"(Chuckles) okey dokey then, let's go home"
So we traveled home, and Ro was extremely quiet all the way home, which was unusual for her, because Ro talks a lot, since she's an Addams.
We were home about 5 minutes, and I had started on dinner, when Ro asked me a question that would change the way most people look at Christmas forever.
"Hey Daddy, can I ask you something?"
"Sure Baby, ask away"
"Daddy, if Santa's real, why would the way he works be different in every household?, that would only make sense if he weren't real, I won't be sad if you tell me that he's not real"
"He's not real, Rowan Sweetheart, how did you even figure that out?"
"Tammy asked what everyone wanted for Christmas because it's that time of the year"
"Hmm hm"
"And then Simon said he wanted a bike but he couldn't ask Santa for one because it was over 50 quid, and then everyone else started telling him that Santa doesn't work like that, Daddy are you mad at me?"

"No, why would I be mad at you Princess?"
"I don't know"
I decided to move away from the topic of Santa, since that probably would've lead to disaster had I pushed it onwards, that and I wanted to process the fact that Ro actually figured out about Santa.
"Have you got your homework out Sweetie?"
"I'm doing it Daddy"
"My cleaver girl"
"Daddy"
"Yes Buba"
"What's for dinner?"
"Well, if I don't burn dinner, it'll be spaghetti bolognese, if I burn dinner, it'll probably be the chippy"
"Ok Daddy"
I was watching the spaghetti cook, because before I had mastered cooking, I couldn't cook spaghetti to save my life, and I somehow managed to set my hand on fire.
"Daddy, why's your hand on fire?"
"My hand's not on-, shit shit shit!, where's the fucking tea towel?!, why did I put it by the fucking sink?!"
So I managed to put out the fire on my hand with the tea towel, though I was impressed that I didn't burn dinner.
"Daddy"
"No no no, Baby please don't cry"
I cupped Ro face so it would make it easier for me to dry her tears.
"But Daddy you could've died"
"No no, Sweetie, Daddy's ok, I'm ok, I promise Buba, the worst thing that could happen now is that I have 3rd degree burns on my left hand, probably would've been way worse had you not spotted it Sweetheart, (kisses forehead), my cleaver girl, ey?, now let's have some dinner and forget this ever happened"
"But what about your-"
"Daddy's hand fine Darling, ok?"
"Ok"
So I picked Ro up and walked to outside Georgie's bedroom door, just to tell him that dinner was ready, then I knocked on the door.
"Hey Georgie"
"Yeah Teddy"

"Dinner's ready"
"Alright, I'm coming Teddy"
So we all then had dinner, we were all quiet while we ate, we then just chilled for the rest of the evening until Ro went to bed, then Georgie started asking me questions.
"Teddy"
"Yeah Georgie"
"What happened to your hand?"
"It caught on fire-"
"What?!"
"Georgie I wasn't paying attention to where I placed my hand while I was watching the spaghetti"
"So how did you realise that your hand was on fire?"
"I didn't, Ro was the one that saw my hand was on fire and freaked it"
"That probably explains why you both were quiet at dinner"
"Yeah"
"Did something else happen today Teddy?"
"Well, Ro figured out about Santa"
"How?"
"Well her class was talking about what they asked Santa for, and a boy said that he wanted a bike for Christmas but he couldn't ask Santa because he it was over £50, and she put the pieces together after that"
"Where was the Teacher?"
"I don't fucking know Georgie, I didn't ask her that, because after she told me that, she thought I was mad at her, so I left the subject alone"
