Rowan PoV

It was the next day at school, Bex and I were sitting together in Spanish with Ms Atkins, but I wasn't really paying attention to the lesson, look I know it was not a good thing to do but I had my reasons, reason A) I was already fluent in Spanish so I could just dose for a bit and catch up afterwards, reason B) Bex doesn't ever shut up about anything, so after a while you kind of have to drown her out and reason C) I was feeling dizzy as fuck.

The bell rang, which meant that I now had double Biology with Mr Higgins, Mr Higgins was one of the better teachers there, but before I got to my lesson, I apparently fainted.

I woke up 40 minutes later in the nurse's office, which I wasn't prepared for at all, since I didn't remember fainting at all, I also wasn't expecting Dad and Papa to be there, which I guess was kinda stupid of me, because fainting and then being out unconscious for 40 minutes is kind of worrying for any Parent, let alone my worrisome Dad, Dad was talking to the nurse.

"Hey Papa, hey- wait, why am I in the nurse's office?"

"Well school called Dad and I because you fainted"

"So how long was I out for?"

"About 40 minutes or so"

"Wait, but Papa, I, uh, I don't, I don't even remember fainting"

"What is the last thing you remember Sweetheart?"

"I remember feeling really dizzy in Spanish for some reason, and then I woke up here in the nurses office"

Papa handed me a cup of water, since us kiddiwinks weren't allowed hot beverages in school, which was bullshit in my opinion, because I liked my cup of tea, but there was nothing that I could have done about that.

"Ok, have you drunk enough water today Poppet?"

"I dunno, maybe not, I don't usually drink a lot of water"

"Rowan-"

"I know Papa"

"Well did you sleep at all last night?"

"No Papa, not really"

"Well shit, ok then did you have breakfast this morning?"

"Well I wasn't really hungry this morning Papa"

"Why's that Poppet?"

"I don't know Papa"

When Dad was finished talking to the bloody school nurse, he then sat next to Papa so he could face me, obviously so he could see if I was actually ok, since you know, he had parental feelings and shit since he's a Dad and he at one point was the only parent I had, you know.

"What did the nurse say to you about me Dad?"

"Sweetheart she's sending you home"

"Wait, shit what about my coursework?"

"Bambina, don't worry about it, ok, I've already asked Soph to get it for you, because the nurse was going to send you home once you woke up, now are you ready to go home?"

"I feel fine though Dad"

Dad took the deepest sigh I've ever heard him take, which is saying something since it's me that we're talking about here, you know, the kid that has had a concussion from a fight before and has broken a lot of noses.

So naturally I felt bad that I was the reason that Dad was worried, but I wanted to stay at school, well I didn't want to stay at school, but I felt like I needed to stay at school until home time, but looking back at it now, I didn't need to worry about my grades because Dad did have that sorted for me.

"That wasn't the question I asked you Ro"

"But why is she sending me home?"

"Rowan, do you understand that you were out for 40 minutes after you fainted-"

"I understand that-"

"Kiddo that's a long time to be out for, most people would only be out for a couple minutes"

"But-"

"Don't even"

"Dad-"

Dad then gave me a 'don't even think about fucking arguing' look, which wasn't a look I wanted to mess with so I just went home with Dad and Papa, as that was the right decision at the time, regardless of what or how I felt otherwise.

We were on the train home, and we actually got seats on there, it's such a shocker I know, anyway, we were on the train home because I had fainted, Dad and Papa were worried about me falling asleep.

"Rowan"

"Yeah Dad"

"Don't fall asleep on me, ok, we don't know if you hit your head when you fainted Bambina"

"Ok Dad, I'll try not to"

So Dad lightly shook me every so often, because I couldn't stay awake, I don't think that I ended up having a concussion but Dad and Papa were worried about that being the case, because it's me.
