《Winter Wonderland》Red Rose Tyrant: part 26

"We will forever be connected by fate...we will never be separated, even my death, nor the afterlife. All eight of us will find each other in the end"
"So, you must be strawberry Rosehearts!~" a female voice called, wearing a winter kimono. A young boy, with red hair, jumped at the voice coming from the Ice shrine in the Kingdom of Roses, a place of worship for the Ice queen.
"Gah! W-where are you? W-who are you...?" he called out. A young girl, appearing to be the same age as him, revealed herself. "Hello! I hope you aren't afraid of my appearance! I took this form to be less scary for you mortals"
"Mortals? A-are you perhaps...the ice queen?" the boy asked. The young girl looked at Riddle with a confused expression. "No. But you can say that I'm somewhat related to her. After all, I'm visiting your hometown for, let's say, a small vacation from work?"
"Are you perhaps, always busy?" he asked. "yep. After all, it's a lot of work. "M-may I ask for your name?" the young boy asked the girl. She smiled kindly and patted his head, "You can't know ones name just yet, for I shall be heading off soon"
"W-wait! Will I ever see you again?"
"Of course. We shall meet again in the future...after all....it is fate for us to meet each other again..."
"Gah!" Riddle gasped a bit, eyes fluttering open. "He's back!" Ace announced. "Well, it's about time..." Yuuna sighed in relief.
"ahaha, We were just about losin' our heads here- figure of speech, sorry- 'cause we thought you might never wake up!" Cater spoke.
"hah....hah....what in the world happened...?" Riddle pants a bit, looking out the maze, looking for a specific female student. His eyes widen at the sight of the destruction he had caused. The rose garden looked like a tornado hit it, or a firenado, because there were some burnt areas caused by magic. Some of Cater's clones were out to clean up the place, and bring life back into the roses and other plants.
"AH, Mr. Rosehearts appears to have regained consciousness. Excellent." Crowley looked relieved as well.
"W-where is Y/n...?" Riddle asked. His eyes widened in shock when he saw her, struggling to stand up, hand on her chest, panting like crazy. She was having a fever, due to exposure to fire for a while.
"Y/n...!" Riddle tried to go close to her but was stopped by Trey. Y/n gave him a smile that she was okay, "Don't worry about me, Strawberry..." she said. Yuuna helped her get closer to Riddle by supporting her. Y/n gave her thanks to the other female.
"She's right Riddle, don't think about anything and rest alright?" Trey patted his head. Riddle took the opportunity to lean his head on Y/n's shoulder, snuggling her like a puppy, making the levia-fae chuckle a bit.
"Yo, that's just the sort of coddling that led to him going nuts in the first place!" Ace shouted suddenly, glaring at the so-called strawberry in the Levia-fae phoenix's arms, "Now the garden is torn up from the floor up, not to mention that we could've died if it weren't for Y/n and Yuuna!"
"Ace...can you read the room?! This is not the time for petty comments" Yuuna scolded the boy, who only pouted. "But Yuuuuu~" Ace whined, hugging the girl's arm

"He's right. It was looking bad for a while there." Deuce said, standing next Yuuna. "And stop hugging her arm..!" Deuce whispered-yelled towards Ace who only mumbled a shut up.
"For cryin' out loud." Grim hopped on Y/n's lap and faced Riddle, pointing a paw at him. "When you humans let that stress build-up, the results sure ain't pretty"
"T-the truth is, I...I really wanted to eat the chestnut tart..." Riddle mumbled, clenching onto Y/n's skirt. He couldn't tell that she was fine as she said she was...
"huh?"
"And I don't care if the roses are white, or the flamingos are pink. And I prefer honey to sugar cubes in my tea, and I like milk tea better than lemon tea anyhow....And after a meal, I want to be the one sitting around talking with everyone..." Riddle continued, lips quivering a bit, speaking in a broken voice.
A tear managed to slip out of his eye, "Riddle....?" Trey began to worry.
Riddle then turned to Trey, "And I really...wanted to play with you and Chenya more, Trey....." Riddle sniffed a little. He couldn't hold up his tears and started to sob, crying onto Y/n shoulder, hugging onto her for the warmth, belonging to his soulmate, that he would sadly have to share with Malleus and 5 others. (Shame, but hey, why not just have all the hot men instead of choosing one?)
He was shaking slightly, as Y/n could only pat his head. "Riddle Rosehearts, in tears....hashtag wow" Cater mumbled in shock.
Ace only grumbled a bit, crossing his arms. "You think a few crocodile tears is all it'll take for me to forgive you?" he spoke, without any sympathy for the boy.
Everyone, including Y/n and Yuuna, glared at Ace. "Give the guy a break, Ace" Deuce sighed in disappointment.
Yuuna just had a dead expression on her face, like the type of face of 'why am I here again? oh ya, I have to deal with a idiot' look.
"I'm sorry, Riddle. I knew you were suffering, and all I did was pretend not to notice..." Trey said, bending down to Riddle, who was kinda still on the floor, hugging Y/n like his life depended on it, who only sobbed more.
"So I'm gonna say what I should have said earlier. Your way of doing things was wrong, and you owe everyone an apology"
"*sniff*....*sniff*... I'm sorry...I'm really sorry.." Riddle managed to choke out, digging his face more into Y/n's chest for warmth.
"I know I've been saying I wanted an apology from Riddle, but now that I got one, y'know what? One stupid "I'm sorry" DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO MAKING UP FOR WHAT HE DID!" Ace screamed at Riddle.
"ACE, NOT NOW!" Y/n shouts angrily at the boy as Yuuna shakes her head in disappointment. "DUDE! Way to be the capital-J! Jerk!" Cater said.
"And proud of it! Have you forgotten how he made me a total fool outta me?! Whoa! Y/n stop throwing snowballs at me!" Ace screamed at the girl, who had another snowball in her hand, getting ready to throw it at Ace again. His stomach was hurting and cold due to the impact of the snowball.
"Have you guys forgotten how he just threw away that chestnut tart we worked so hard on?! That ain't something you can make go away with a few tears and a flimsy "I'm sorry"! Gah!" Ace shouts again, falling to the ground like a baby, clenching his stomach in pain. Y/n had thrown another snowball at him, but it felt like pure ice due to how painful it was. "I think that's enough, Y/n" Yuuna sweatdropped.

"Wow. I ain't never met anyone who was better at holdin' grudged than I am." Grim grumbled, cringing down on Ace's body.
"Then...then what do you want me to do?" Riddle asked, looking at Ace who was in pain. Poor guy.
"You know...ugh...I don't got a birthday coming up anytime soon." Ace mumbled, groaning in pain a bit. He looked like he was suffering from period cramps.
"huh? What are you talking about?" questioned Deuce.
"So..." Ace stood back up, "I demand a do-over for the unbirthday party! Except for this time, we ain't gotta do squat. This time, YOU'RE the one who brings the tart! And no getting Y/n or Trey to make it for you! Do that, and then things are square between us" Ace said, while Y/n helps Riddle stand up, being a bit wobblily due to her fever.
"Except you had lots of help making YOUR tart" Y/n pointed out.
"Just admit you want a tart" Yuuna sighed.
"Quiet from the peanut gallery! What do you say, Riddle? We clear?" asked Ace who looked back at Riddle, who nodded in response, "Yes...we're clear"
"Ah, yes. Compromise is a beautiful thing. I believe that concludes this matter" the headmaster said.
Y/n would smile warmly. She felt a bit lightheaded from her fever, wobbling a bit as she helped clean up the garden. "Y/n? Are you alright?" Yuuna asked, causing everyone to look at her.
"Yes...I'm f-" Y/n wasn't able to finish her words and fainted.
"Y/N!?"
"MY ROSE!?"
Y/n had opened her eyes to see that she was in the infirmary. She felt two different weights on both sides of her head. She sat up to see a sleeping Riddle and Malleus sitting on the side of her bed, reading a book.
"Huh? What are you guys doing here?" she asked. Malleus turned away to face her, and place a hand on her lap. "You're finally awake...I thought you won't be able to wake up.." Malleus mumbled, placing a kiss on her forehead.
Riddle shifted a bit, opening his eyes to see that Y/n was awake, "M-my rose! Are you alright?" he asked.
"I'm fine you two. How long was out?"
"It's been only 3 hours. You scared me, my rose...why didn't you tell us that you had a fever earlier?" Riddle asked. Malleus looked like he wanted to know as well.
"Well...I was more worried for you, Riddle." Y/n chuckled a bit. Malleus and Riddle both gave her THE look. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry" she laughed. "How about I sing you a song to make up for it" Y/n suggested, using her magic to summon a magical keyboard. "Alright, darling" Malleus nodded as Riddle was eager to hear her sing.
Y/n smiled and began to play
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
"Now you must be strong, even if you feel small"
Y/n started off, grabbing Riddle's hand, intertwining it with her own.
"Cultivate... your pain, into poisonous walls"
She sang, turning to Malleus, giving him a small head pat between his horns, causing him to lean into her touch.
"Channel grace and poise with a fire in your eyes...
Soar away...like a butterfly"
Riddle gasped at the sight in front of him right now. Y/n had used her magic to summon butterflies made from light, and fly around the room. Malleus was memorized by how beautiful her magic was.
"Show your smile, your charm, so that nobody knows"
Y/n says, twirling her hands to make the keyboard float to the side, using her magic to have it play itself. She then moved her hands above her, causing some illusion magic to show a scene of two females. One had was hugging another, who seemed to be dying.
"Underneath your veil, there's an anger that grows..."
The scene morphed into a female, fighting a monster with a warrior fan. Riddle watched in awe, as Malleus knew what Y/n was showing. It was memories of her past...500 years ago.
"There are countless ways that one can show their strength...
so I'll fight my own way till the end"
the female in the illusion made of ice crystal began shedding tears while fighting monsters who dare cause such harm to her loved one....who died in her arms.
"Fly, for their sake
Fight through the pain
Just a small touch will taint"
Riddle seemed to look back at Y/n, who has smiling sadly as she moved her hands a bit to show another scene.
"Smile, hide away
For all the lost...
It won't be in vain"
The scene turned into a female piercing her sharp fan into a large monster, causing ice rose vines to sprout. The female was covered in the blood of monsters. Suddenly, Y/n had used her magic to have another voice sing along with her
"
Now you must be strong, even if you feel small"
Y/n sang, taking her pearly white phoenix wings, bringing Riddle and Malleus into a hug. Riddle stared at Y/n with a blushed face, admiring her angelic beauty. Like a butterfly in a spider's web...Malleus smiled as well, leaning his head towards her until his horns touched her own.
"Cultivate your hate...into poisonous walls
You have grace and poise with wisteria eyes
Soar away, like a butterfly"
Y/n kissed Riddle's forehead, while she had Malleus's head on her shoulder.
"Grow, heal the pain
Nurture each flower
And you will flourish
Fight, fight again
Don't let them win
Be strong til the end"
Y/n sang the last note. Riddle gave compliments, leaning into her icy warmth. Malleus looked proud of her future wife.
"Wow...your voice reminds me of the famous singer, Rebirth" Riddle smiled. Malleus looked at Y/n, and she did the same. Y/n let out some soft giggles. "Since your my soulmate, you have the right to now~"
Riddle tilted his head in confusion. "huh? Right to now what?"
"I shall tell you something about Rebirth that no one, except for Malleus and lady Lillia, along with my mother and servants up in Permafrost know. Rebirth...is actually me" Y/n revealed.
Riddle looked at her in shock, "what?! Y-your telling me that, Rebirth...a famous singer, having more fame than Vil and Neige Leblanche, is you?" Y/n nodded. Riddle looked really excited since he was a big fan of Rebirth, the only celebrity that his mother improved off. And now he is here...becoming her future wife...AND one of the Kings of Permafrost...
Riddle asked Y/n to sing another song, and Y/n happily obliged. She even had Malleus help with the magical illusions she showed.
(Btw, the illusions she cast are like Sprite's ability in the Marvel movie "The Celestials")

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

Contact Through Voided Lenses
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Edit: Fixed some inaccuracies in the synopsis. The void is a vast unexplored ocean filled with various wonders and dangers all waiting to be explored by those brave enough to travel and record. Many souls do find themselves brave enough to face the vast distances, the various risks to personal safety and do the hundreds of task required on a craft. However, at times the void itself can be boring with absolutely nothing to do but as time pass and more and better technology is reached, things got better. The various trips got faster, communications became faster than light and you can be home to see your loved ones after only months now. Through the various planets whether rocky or gaseous, the various stars whether small or giant, the various systems both eerily similar or completely alien. As part of an expeditionary scientific exploratory survey craft, one could see that the void offers no reprieve from all the discoveries and wonders. At times, it can feel empty and silent where no soul can hear you scream and at others it can be overwhelming with sudden phenomenon that can overwhelm the brightest of minds. The void itself is a truly fascinating ocean where one must chart the various islands or drown in its deadly tidal waves. But the question still remained no matter how you try to hide it in of itself… is there truly other intelligent life out there? Are we alone in this ocean? Those very questions still haunt the minds of those on the crafts themselves as they brace for every jump ready for the unknown and the known. Many would try to explain that yes there is other intelligent life out there whilst other still say no after 2 centuries of continuous flight out of the home system. Still, those are questions that bury deep in the minds of the crew and those at home as the voidcraft jumps to a system with a single yellow star orbited by 8 other planets with one crowning blue jewel being the 3rd closest with its 5 oceans and 7 continents, a planet called Dirt which is inhabited by a primitive species called Humanity. Hello, author here and this is my newest dive into writing particularly for the Writathon currently in progress being my first one. I hope you give me story a try but in case you still want more information on what you’re getting into, below are some pointers about the story itself. First Contact: CTVL is a story about a first contact scenario between an advanced alien civilization and a slightly more advanced modern day humanity on their planet called Dirt. Characters: The story will take place mainly on the perspective of the alien visitors themselves though there will be human POV characters who will show how the rest of humanity react through media and forums. Action: It won’t be an actual alien invasion but you have to see for yourself how well first contact went. Sci-Fi: I will be very forward here, I WILL bend the rules of physics in order to add in parts of the plot and there WILL be parts that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Theme: It will be a brooding story talking about the futility of pe… Just kidding, it’s mostly wholesome stuff to be honest here. Alien: The aliens themselves will… actually why should I tell you, you have to go and read it to find out what the aliens are though I will draw a few things here and there to aid in the process. Extra tidbit: If you are a grammar nazi or someone who really wants a realistic scifi story... this story is probably not for you at all. Anyways, that’s pretty much all I can say before I spoil something major of the plot itself, the story is slice of life so make sure that type of story is what you like because I am terrible with anything else as I found out, anyways, have a good time everyone and good luck to the other Writathon participants.
