《Winter Wonderland》The Schemer of the Scalding Sands: part 10

"I still can't believe the Amaryllis trio fled to Octavinelle" Kareem grumbled.
"And they stole the magic carpet" Omar noted. "If the housewarden were to find out about this...Rrgh, what do we do?"
"I think we'd better take this to Vice housewarden Jamil to start with" Kareem suggested.
"Hello, gentlemen" Azul greeted, approaching the students with the famous thieves and the twins. "Mind if we pop by?"
Jade had the magic carpet around his arm as Floyd held onto Yuuna's hand, with Grim in her arms. Azul was holding Y/n hand, making sure to use water magic to keep her cool.
"Good GRAVY, it's hot here" Floyd whined. "Feels like the middle of summer"
"I know right...I was close to having a fever before" Y/n said, having an ice pack on her head to keep cool.
"?!?!" Kareem and Omar jolted a bit, quickly turning around the group, having mixed expressions of surprise and fear.
"You're the Octavinelle guys who gave us a thrashing last night!" Kareem exclaimed.
"What do you want with Scarabia" Omar asked.
Yuuna and Y/n were also back in their Scarabian dorm uniform that changed when they entered the Scarabia mirror.
"Permit me to apologize for what transpired last evening," Azul said, having a look of remorse. "It looked as though you were bullying defenseless animals, after all, we are protective of my darling Angelfish and the twin's little Shrimp~" he cooed. "I stood up for them on the spot, out of the goodness of my heart. But after I heard their side of the story...It became clear to me that the two Amaryllis residents were who had made off with Scarabia's magic carpet and brought my poor angelfish along" man he wasn't even hiding his favoritism.
Yuuna grumbled a bit, not really liking being blamed, but Floyd calmed her down when he nuzzled into her hair.
"Once I realized my mistake, I took personal responsibility for the matter. I apprehended the criminals...And I came here to return the magic carpet to its rightful owner" Azul continued.
"Mhm. You're welcome I guess" Y/n nodded a bit, deciding to go with the flow.
"Rgh...It ain't fair, I tell ya..." Grim grumbled.
The magic carpet waved its tassels in a greeting manner toward Kareem and Omar. "W-well, uh..." poor Kareem didn't know what to say.
"Thank you for the...help?" Omar said, still looking confused
"Guys." Jamil's voice was heard as he came around the corner. "It's about time for morning training. If you're late, Kalim will..." his eyes went wide when he the merfolk Mafia. But really pissed Jamil off was when Azul was holding onto his Jasmine's hand.

"Why, Jamil!" Azul smiled. "Hello there. How are you?"
"Azul Ashengrotto...and the Leech brothers as well?" Jamil asked, observing them "What are you doing here?"
'Pretty skeptical isn't he'
'mhm. It's kinda funny'
"Our home isn't the most hospitable place in the wintertime" Jade informed Jamil.
"So we spend our holidays in the dorm! Aha ha!" Floyd laughed.
Jamil perked an eyebrow. "Wh...what?"
"By the way, where might Kalim be?" Azul asked, looking around for the Sea Otter. "I'm here to return his magic carpet to him"
"Er, ah..." Jamil moved in front of Azul, blocking his path. "If you need to deliver something, I'll take it to him"
"Oh, but I insist!" Azul smiled, stepping aside. Jade and Floyd followed behind, with Floyd still holding onto Yuuna. "This magic carpet is a legendary artifact on par with national treasures. If it were discovered to be damaged later, Octavinelle would be held liable. We can't have that, now, can we?" he smirked. "I would prefer to hand it to Kalim in person and have him assess its condition firsthand"
"Kalim wouldn't care even if it was damaged," Jamil said. "Let me take it off your hands, okay?" he asked, reaching out towards the magic carpet.
"Worry not-" Azul grinned, casually blocking Jamil from getting the magic carpet from Jade. "I won't even ask for my standard twenty percent finder's fee"
"Consider that our way of apologizing for our uncouth behavior towards Scarabia last night" Jade smiled.
"We also brought a seafood pizza as a little present" Floyd grinned. "You wouldn't want it to get cold, wouldja?"
"The point is, I would MUCH prefer to deliver it in person," Azul said, getting the conversation back on topic. "He's awake by now, I trust?" he asked.
"No, really, he's feeling for any...hey!" Jamil shouted when Azul moved past him with his Jasmine flower in his grasp. "You can't just barge in, Azul!"
Jade turned to Yuuna. "Shall we, Yuuna?"
"You'd better keep up," Floyd said, bringing Yuuna along.
"This is so much nicer when I'm not on the receiving end of it..." Yuuna chuckled.
"Yeesh, these Octavinelle guys are so pushy when they wanna be..." Grim grumbled.
"Oh, hey, Azul" Kalim greeted when he walked into the lounge with the others following. "What brings you to our dorm?"
"It seems he is back to normal" Yuuna said, whispering to Y/n with Grim in her arms. "For now anyway..." Y/n murmured.
"Hello there. It's nice to see you, Kalim" Azul greeted back. "Goodness me! Scarabia never fails to impress every time I visit. It's a veritable winter wonderland outside, yet in here, the sun's so hot that it might as well be midsummer" 'I guess this is how my angelfish feels...' he thought. "You would have vacationers coming in droves if you opened up a resort here. It's an ideal location"

"You don't say?" Kalim cheerfully smiled. "I don't really have the savvy business stuff, but thanks for the kind words!"
"At any rate, I'm here today because I caught your magic carpet. I'd like to return it to you" Azul said, giving a hand signal to Jade who released the magic carpet upon seeing the signal. The carpet flew around the lounge once Jade let it go.
"Really? It ran off again?" questioned Kalim, who looked at the carpet flying around. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that"
"Oh, it's no bother at all" Azul said, being humble.
'Is the blossom of humility taking over now?'
'Humanitas would be too busy to do so if that were the case'
'true...'
"By the way, is Scarabia having holidays in the dorm this year?' asked Azul.
"Yes, that's right" confirmed Kalim. "Is Octavinelle doing the same?"
"Why, yes!" Azul beamed. "Fancy that! In fact, what say we take this opportunity to improve relations between our dorms?!"
"Wha...?!" gasped Jamil.
"It seems there are many things to be learned from Scarabia's unique studying style that was apparently adopted this winter" Azul said, continuing.
"That's right!" Kalim cheered. "I would be positively honored to host Octavinelle's housewarden here in our dorm as we did with Y/n-chan when she arrived!"
Avaritia shouted.
Jamil gritted his teeth towards Avaritia's words. "...Kalim, I recommend against this," he said, crossing his arms.
Y/n perked her head to the side, knowing that this red flag was up.
"Aw, why?" Kalim asked, tilting his head.
"The whole point of our current training regimen is to catch up to the other dorms" Jamil reminded. "If we invite the housewarden of one fo those other dorms to join us, we're showing the enemy our hand"
"Just admit that you don't want them here..." Y/n mumbled quietly. Yuuna seemed to have heard as she let out a chuckle.
"Oh, please. He's hardly an enemy. Besides, didn't you invite the Amaryllis residents and their housewarden as well?" Kalim asked.
"Well, er...yes" Jamil sighed in defeat. "Look, Azul. I'm saying this for your own good"
"You're absolutely right, Jamil. Other dorms are always going to be, on some level, our rivals in the grade standings. More so when Amaryllis gets more students" Azul smirked. "I'm afraid we'd best take out leave, boys, Kalim, Jamil, best of luck with your training," he said as he turned around before letting out a sigh. "Back to spending yet another holiday stuck indoors in the dead of winter, just the three of us. It's unavoidable, I suppose..."
"ANd after we worked so hard to capture that magic carpet and bring it back..." Jade said as well.
"And it made a huge mess outta the Mostro Lounge in the process" Floyd continued.
All three of them let out a big sigh. "Alas...."
"Layin' on the guilt trip a little thick there, don't ya think?!" Grim exclaimed.
"But we can join you guys, but unfortunately, I must stay to help train these mortals," Y/n said, going along with guilt tripped.
"Such hard work..." Yuuna sighed. She was also going along with it.
"Not you too guys!" Grim yelped.
"My poor angelfish...if only you were less busy" Azul whined, pulling Y/n close and giving her a deep kiss.
Jamil let out a noise that seemed similar to that of a hiss.
Jamil gritted his teeth.
"Not so fast!" Kalim shouted.
"Here we go..." sighed Jamil, a little relieved about Kalim's intervention.
"Azul is one of the top magicians in our whole school. I think Scarabia would benefit greatly from having him and Y/n over! After all, Y/n scored the highest out of the entire school and is Camelius herself!" Kalim said, having a bright smile. "Besides, turning away esteemed guests out of hand would bring shame upon the Asim family name, especially if the guests were of royalty"
"Why, Kalim!" Azul and Y/n turned around, their moods doing a 180.
'bipolar much?'
'oh be quiet'
"What a kind and generous (pure) soul you are! Naturally, I would be more than happy to share any insights I have with you" Azul and Y/n both said in unison.
"They're talking in unison...." Yuuna sweatdropped a bit.
"That's weird and creepy..." Grim shivered.
"The two of us will be happy to assist with cooking and cleaning" Jade added.
"Yeah! We do it at the lounge anyway, so we're pretty good at it" Floyd grinned.
"That would be great!" Kalim smiled. "And it would ease Jamil's workload"
"I don't NEED any help...Ugh, forget it. You're not listening to a word I say" Jamil sighed.
"All right, let's get ourselves ready for some special training!" Kalim suggested. "It's your dorm versus ours, Amaryllis can be the ref. Put your things away and come to the courtyard"
"Certainly" Azul nodded. "Do go easy on me, Scarabia gentlemen. heh heh heh..."
Y/n let out a sigh. "Back into the fountain, I go"
