"Having fun?"

Lucius looked up from his work, and saw Earle walking up to him.

"Bill?" he said. "Now, what's a big shot like you doing in a place like this?"

"I need some information," he said, looking at what he'd written down on a paper. "The Wayne Enterprise 47-B, 1-ME."

Lucius didn't need to find it in his files. All he needed to do was to think. "1-ME . . . It's a microwave emitter. It was designed to vaporize an enemy's water supply. Rumor was they tested dispersing water-based chemicals into the air . . . but isn't that illegal?"

Earle avoided the question. "I want all the information on the development of this project. All data, files, backup disks, on my desk right away."

"Did you lose one?"

"I'm merging your department with Archives. And I am firing you."

Lucius paused, left speechless at what he'd just said. It had almost come from nowhere. It wasn't him he was concerned about though. Bruce still needed his technology, and now he was out of a job.

"Didn't you get the memo . . . ?"
