《RWBY: Batman Begins》Chapter XXX

Weiss slowly faded back into consciousness.
She was inside the Batmobile as it drove at high speeds down the road.
"Stay calm," a gruff voice spoke.
She turned to see Batman driving the vehicle beside her, and the effects of the toxin quickly came back.
"You've been poisoned," he added.
That didn't help. Her condition worsened at that information.
Bruce wished he hadn't said that. His social skills didn't exactly improve after years of isolation. But that didn't matter.
Batman swerved the Batmobile to avoid a vehicle.
More officers spotted the vehicle, and gave chase.
"I'm on him!"
The officers swerved around the same car Batman avoided.
The Batmobile sped forward, and swerved away from two cop cars attempting to block the road. The cops behind him drifted to follow.
Weiss was panting even faster than before, and Batman did his best to calm her.
"Breathe slowly."
But she looked out the right-side window, but the lights were a blurred flash that increased her terror.
Batman turned onto the sidewalk, crashing through a bus stop, and riding onto the highway.
A police bullhead passed overhead, shining a spotlight over the Batmobile.
"Hold on!" Batman said.
Two units and a bullhead drove behind the Batmobile as it made a left turn. More units turned a corner, and Batman was surrounded on both sides of the street. He made a quick left turn, and drifted into a parking lot, the police vehicles following.
"What are you doing?!" Weiss shouted.
"Shortcut."
He arrived at the top of the parking lot, and backed up between two parked cars.
"Air One to ground, block that ramp!"
Batman drove out from between the parked vehicles at the wall. Police vehicles surrounded the Batmobile.
"He's got no way off that roof."
An officer climbed out of his car, and spoke into the loudspeaker.
"Turn off your engine! Step away from the car!"
Batman pressed a few keys on the controls.
"Trust me," he said, knowing what was about to happen would scare her.

"" a voice came from the computer.
Weiss pushed against the wall of the Batmobile as the seat moved to the center, and pushed forward into an open space. He was in a position as if he was riding a bike. He activated the missile launchers, and blasted the opposite side of the wall. He drove past the confused cops, the bullhead trying to keep track of him.
Batman boosted the Batmobile, Weiss gasping and shutting her eyes as they drove off the parking lot, and landed on the next rooftop.
"Who is this guy?!" an officer shouted into the radio.
The Batmobile sped over the roof, the officers shouting at one another on the radio.
"Where is he?!"
"He's on the roof!"
"What street is he taking?!"
"He's not on a street, he's flying on rooftops!"
Batman boosted off the roof, and landed on the next one over. The massive, tank-like tires of the vehicle destroyed the roof, crushing the tiles atop it. The Batmobile rode to the other side of the building, and boosted off, back onto the highway.
Batman turned off the weapons systems, and returned to a seated position.
He drove down into the underground subway road, police vehicles swerving to catch up.
Batman swerved into an exit road, and cops closest to the Batmobile drove directly into the pillars dividing the road from the exit.
With a few more cars down, Batman drove through a pillar back onto the main road. He sped the Batmobile up, avoiding every pedestrian vehicle, while Weiss covered her eyes in panic.
An officer was listening to the voices through the radio, seated in his police vehicle nearby.
"At least tell me what it looks like," he said, right before the Batmobile sped past, with multiple police vehicles on its tail.
"Nevermind."
Free of civilian vehicles, Batman sped up, with Weiss slipping out of consciousness.
"Got him," an officer said as he and another vehicle blocked the Batmobile's path.
Batman spun the vehicle, causing Weiss to gasp, and the other vehicles to swerve in surprise and confusion. He drove through the roadblock, and the officers followed as soon as they realized what had happened.

With a few button presses and switch pulling, a hatch opened below the Batmobile that released explosives on the road.
"Coming right up on his butt!" an officer said, before his vehicle road over the grenades.
The tires exploded, and the cop car spun out of control.
Batman drove onto an exit road, and a cop sped straight into the divider, flipping into the air, and crashing onto the road.
Batman returned to weapons mode as the Batmobile road back onto the highway, and drifted left and right to avoid civilian vehicles.
A bullhead shined the spotlight onto the Tumbler from above.
"We're tracking suspect vehicle, heading west on 9-17!"
Batman returned to a seated position, turned off the headlights, and the Batmobile came to a sudden stop, escaping the spotlight, and becoming invisible in the night.
The cops immediately panicked at losing sight of the target.
"Air One to ground."
"I lost him!"
"We've lost visual. Exit is blocked. We'll loop back to check the frontage road."
"" the computer said in the Batmobile.
Bruce turned to look at Weiss, who was panting, and staring out the window.
He reached out to touch her shoulder, no longer using his disguise voice.
"Stay with me," he pleaded.
She spun back to look at Batman. Even through the fear, she recognized that voice. It wasn't intimidating. It was far more calming than the voice he had been using earlier.
And those eyes . . . she couldn't be afraid of those eyes . . .
The effects of the toxin were still there, but from the look on her face, he seemed to have calmed her down slightly.
Batman looked back out to the road now that the police bullhead had pulled back to look for him. A cop noticed the silhouette of the Batmobile.
"What? There he is!!!"
The moment he pointed out the Batmobile, Batman turned the headlights back on, and drove onto an exit headed for a highway. The cops followed immediately, calling for the bullhead to come back.
Batman made a sudden turn, bursting through the divider back onto the main road, leaving the cops swerving to comprehend what had happened.
He drove through a gate headed for the forest before anyone could see him. He was getting to the cave, and the antidote wasn't too far. Just a little longer.
Bruce looked to Weiss, and saw her staring out the window, growing more woozy by the second.
"Just hold on!" he said.
But the world was becoming a blur for Weiss, and she didn't have any more time.
The Batmobile was driving towards a cliff, with a waterfall on the other side. Batman reached to press the boost button, but was distracted as he saw Weiss' eyes roll into the back of her head, and she wilted over in her seat.
"WEISS!!!" he screamed.
Realizing how close he was, he pressed the boost button, and drove over the cliff, through the waterfall, into the Batcave.
Bruce parked the vehicle as quickly as he could, before pressing the button to lift the windshield. He unbuckled himself and lunged out of the Batmobile, running for the table where he kept his equipment. On the top was a container left by Lucius, which contained five syringes of the antidote.
He pulled out one, and hurried back to the Batmobile to Weiss. He pulled off her bolero, and lifted her arm, injecting the antidote into her body.
Panicking, Bruce reached for her neck, feeling her pulse begin to slow. But it didn't come to a stop. She was alive, but unconscious.
He sighed in relief, lifting Weiss out of the Batmobile, and embracing her in his arms, letting the tears fall.
For a moment, he'd thought he had lost her. Despite everything he had been through, it was the most terrifying experience of his life. She had brought herself into his war, and he almost failed to save her.
He thanked God he'd saved her . . .
