The bell rang and it was lunchtime. Jake sighed. He's going to eat lunch alone. And he wasn't used to that. He packed his things and then went to his locker. After that, he headed down the cafeteria. He looked around and sighed. No seat for him anywhere.
Then he noticed someone calling him. He looked to see Danny. He smiled and went over to his table.
When he sat there, he was introduced to the rest of the gang.
"Guys, this is Jake Long. Jake, meet Randy and Howard," Danny introduced.
"Oh," Howard grinned, "aren't you that short boy that Randy tripped over?"
Howard and Randy started laughing, which to Jake, wasn't funny. At least I'm not 200 pounds, unlike you. Jake thought. "Guys, this isn't funny anymore," Danny sighed.
"Sorry," he said. Jake snickered and said, "don't worry. I have met much more idiots."
Danny and Jake started chuckling at their inside joke, which to the displease of Randy and Howard.
Everything was fine until 20 minutes later, a gorilla that looked like a cyborg with robotic spider legs came into the lunch room, causing a havoc of distress, amazement, and fear. People started to run everywhere, where as our boys came running out of the cafeteria.
Randy, Danny, and Howard ran in the bathroom, locking the door, then making sure no one was in there.
They were about to transform when Danny asked, "where's Jake?"
"Oh cheese! We left him out there!" Randy exclaimed.
The boys then quickly transform to save their new friend.

The two heroes exited the bathroom with Howard to go to the cafeteria, only to find a red dragon battling the exotic animal.
When some wanted to stay to film the battle, the dragon said, "get out of here!"

Danny can't help but notice that the dragon's voice was the same as Jake's. It must be a coincidence.
Randy and Danny then sprinted into action, trying to beat the gorilla.
Danny tried eco-blasting, which only result the gorilla to have his eardrums being annoyed.
The dragon was battling the dragon, tossing each other around the room.
The gorilla pinned the dragon down with his metallic spider legs. The gorilla then proceeded to choke the red creature, with his large hands. The more the dragon was trying to get free, the harder the gorilla's grip was.
Randy then grabbed the gorilla's neck with his scarf and then threw him across the room. He looked at the dragon and was relieved that he was okay.
The gorilla was furious. He roared as he ran towards the ninja. The ninja went out of the way and let the dragon punch him.
Danny then tried to freeze the gorilla with his cryokinesis. The gorilla was getting free easily. Pulling out each fist and leg one by one. Then Randy had an idea.
He took out his sword and told the dragon to set it out on fire. After that, the ninja started to run towards the gorilla.
He leaped and then slashed his sword on the gorilla's back, causing his metallic spider legs to fall.
It was furious. It was raging towards the three boys. The three boys looked at each other and nodded. They stand in one formation and then punched the gorilla out.
Howard took this as the chance to call the zoo.
"That was awesome!" Randy exclaimed. They looked at the dragon and he was turning to leave. "Wait!" Danny said. The dragon turned towards them and waited for what Danny had to say. "Where'd you come from?" Danny asked. The dragon smiled and said, "I moved here."

And with that, the dragon flew away.
The three boys de-transformed in the bathroom. Then they discussed about the dragon that they met.
Randy took out Nomicon and then read a page.
"The magic that one who carries
Is a friend, here to defeat the enemy"
"How is he not dead?" Danny asked as he was thrown back again. Howard shrugged as he watched Randy drool.
Randy then woke up and wiped his drool. He stood up and dusted himself. "So?" I asked, "what is he?"
"An ally," was all he could reply until the bell rang. Our four boys walked together to class, but Danny was wondering, where was Jake?
The next class was P.E. Honestly one of Howards worst subjects.
The teacher blew his whistle, signing that class is about to start. "Alright! We're playing dodgeball!" the coach said. And luckily, Danny was one of team captain. He doesn't know why, but the class voted for him.
He picked the three people that came quickly to his mind:
"Randy."
"Howard."
"Jake."
And the rest were random.
They were I position. Danny's team was red and the other was blue.
The whistle blew and the game started.
Danny was able to hit three jocks of the other team quickly, much to the dismay of blue team. Howard was hit, thrice. They should've saved their balls because Randy was able to quickly throw four balls in a row and dodge two more. The class was in awe at how fast and agile the two boys were, but the girls kept starring at Jake Long.
Jake was able to dodge every ball that tries to hit him and swiftly made his other teammates shields to cover himself. And whenever he hits, he makes it a powerful headshot. Some even got a black eye from his hit. Danny smiled as he made the right decision.
Not even 10 minutes of the game, the trio were able to hit almost all of the competitors. There were two left. And as they play, Jake can't help but notice something green glowing from the back of the benches.
He wanted to finish the game fast. There was one last guy they need to hit, which troubles Randy and Danny. He grabbed a ball and used Randy as a stepping stone. "Hey!" he exclaimed. Jake ignored him and jumped on his back. He jumped high in the air and hit the last one with such strength, he thought he died from a fireball. That will keep them distracted.
While the class was crowding around him, Jake took this chance to look behind the benches. He saw an emerald glowing brightly. And when Jake touched it, the glow leveled down. Jake could feel mystical energy from it. He kept it in his bag for later.
Randy rubbed his back as Danny chuckled. Randy looked to where Jake was, and saw the emerald he was stuffing in his bag.
Randy grabbed Danny by his arm and whispered, "I think that new kid is hiding something."
Danny looked at Jake and saw him drink water. Danny replied with, "just because he stepped on yo doesn't mean he's hiding something. 'Sides, you told us yourself, he's an ally."
"Well, I'm not always right."
"And you're not always wrong."
Danny gave a smirk, marking to end of the conversation.
"Okay kids!" the coach anounced, "the kids in your team now, will be part of your team until next semester!"
After that, not much has happened. The day went on as usual, but Randy knew something was going on. It must be a coincidence. He let his mind be at peace and shut his eyes. And waited for dawn to arrive to train with Nomicon, in human form, of course.

Journey of Infinite Steps
Science Fiction/ Low fantasy Iliad. Oliver just wanted a job that could keep his family fed, and himself sane. Was that so much to ask for? Apparently. As he instead ends up facing monsters and dodging his way to another world instead. Competent as he views himself figuring out how to reopen a portal back home by himself is defiantly above his knowledge base. Of coarse it would be vastly simpler if he could keep 'getting back home' as his primary goal. 'Staying alive' is unfortunately a far more immediate and relevant goal. I will post any content warnings on a Per Chapter basis. Divisive content will be as skip-able as I can reasonably manage Discord Link will be available for those interested in assisting editing/ coauthoring. Especially character writers/those willing to work out the math/ economies and world building even if only as a wall to bounce ideas off of.-----Full Synapsis contains serious spoilers----- Looking to take care of his family, Oliver finds himself flung into a faraway place. Try as he might, his Iliad will not be simple or peaceful as he'd like. Alas the slow and unending war of Chaos and Order has long memories and longer reach. If Oliver is to make his way back home it looks like He'll have to solve the universe one fight and mystery at a time. Especially as the Laws of Physics shift, often on a per world basis. Hopefully there is still a home to come back to.
