《Secret Trio: A New Start (Old and discontinued)》Chapter 17

To Jake, Randy, and Howard, Dash seemed to act weird. He wasn't asking for a battle. He wasn't threatening Danny. Or anything a normal bullies do. In the morning, every time Dash saw Danny, he would say "hi" to him. And in some occasions, Danny would smile at him and wave back. What the cheese?! And in lunch, Danny found some sweets in his locker with a sticky note in the bag that has Dash's name in it. Howard thought it was poisonous, but Danny ate it other wise.
"Something bothering you?" Nigel poked at Jake. Jake glared at him from his back seat. Of all the seats Nigel had to pick, why does it have to be behind Jake?. "Nothing," Jake said as he ignored the annoying poking of his frenemy. "You know you can tell me, right?" Nigel persisted as he continuously poke Jake. Jake grabbed the pen from behind him and broke it in half. He glared at Nigel and then went back to his seat.
Nigel's eyes dulled as he watched Jake's head went down. He most probably was sleeping. He sighed and took out another pen and started to write notes from the class.
Jake was already out of the classroom and was walking down the halls with a folder. "Yo! Jake!" Randy called out. Jake turned to see his friends approaching him. "Aren't we supposed to practice?" Randy asked as he was nearing Jake.
Jake nodded and replied, "I'll meet you guys there. I just have to hand Ron my part for the project." Danny, Howard, and Randy shared a knowing grin. Danny chuckled as Howard grinned. "Okay," Randy said snickered, "we'll see you in the music room."
Jake watched as the three boys walked away, snickering and chuckling. When they turn to the other hall, he could hear them straight-out laughing their butts off. Jake rolled his eyes and continued his trip towards the Chemistry classroom/Laboratory.

He saw Ron writing on a clipboard and staring at chemicals that are bubbling on the burner. "Hey, Ron," Jake greeted as he entered the room. Ron smiled as he watch Jake enter. "Here," Jake said as he gave Ron the folder, "also, thanks."
"Thanks for what?" Ron asked as he put the folder down beside the chemicals. "For letting me do a part," Jake said.
During their meeting in Jake's house, he got an immediate call from Trixie and bailed on Ron. Luckily, Ron haven't finished the whole project and let Jake finish the rest.
Ron just grinned at Jake, "no need to say thank you. Honestly, most people would forget the project completely and leave me to do all the work. So, I should thank you."
Jake slightly blushed, not like it's noticeable for Ron. His hand unconsciously going to the back of his neck. They stood there awkwardly, stealing a few glances at each other. "Hey, Ron," Jake started, "do you want to hang-"
An explosion was heard at the back of the lab. Jake opened his eyes and saw hugging him tightly. He protected Jake instead of himself. He could feel Ron's grip loosen. Until he collapse on the ground. "Ron?" Jake called out as he shook him. Hi heart was racing, he didn't know what to do, "Ron!" Trixie and Spud would most likely be here.
"Jake!" his friends called out.
Then, a lowly cackle was heard in the flames. Jake watched as the flames grew dark in color. And out stepped Dark Flame. The others gasped at the scene.
Dark flame put her finger to her lip as he cheeks looked like they were trying to be cute. "Aww..." Dark Flame mocked, "did I hit, lover boy? I'm sorry."

Jake growled and turned into a dragon. Randy and Danny transformed along side Jake as Howard dragged Ron out of the scene. And he also called for help.
Dark Flame's playful mockery smile turned into a blank stare, "I know you have it, Dragon. Where is it." Her voice, cold like steel. Her gaze as hot as fire.
The trio attacked Dark Flame with their best hits. But Dark Flame just blocked them all without any effort. "You boys think you could beat me?" Dark Flame raised her left hand, and the flames in the background seemed to follow, forming multiple hands made out of the fire. "Pathetic."
Dark Flame outstretched her hand and the flaming hands followed. They soon attacked the boys as they tried to deflect it. Randy can't touch it. Jake can only enlarge it. And Danny can't do any damage to it. One even managed to throw Jake out of the wall.
Dark Flame laughed as she watched the boys suffer. "You boys are utterly pathetic!" she laughed as she enjoyed the show.
Jake braced himself for another punch of the flaming hands, but it ever came. He opened his eyes and saw Nigel, holding a barrier as the flaming arm turned to ashes. Nigel pulled the barrier down and started to recite a spell.
His eyes glowed white and he unleashed a surge of energy that turned the fire Dark Flame made into ash. She growled as she watch her precious toys dissipate. After the spell, Nigel's legs could barely carry him. Jake caught him and set him near a tree. The other boys followed as well.
When they were all there, Dark Flame sent a fireball at them. She flew high in the sky and dropped a bottle that is the color of dark amber. The bottle fell on the ground and released some sort of smoke. The trio coughed it out and then opened their eyes to face a giant black centipede.
It roared as it dug deep in the ground. The trio was preparing for an attack. The ground started to shake and the centipede appeared behind them. Jake blew fire at it, for it to only pass through and head straight for Danny and Jake. Good thing they quickly dodged.
The centipede then dug in the ground again, and reappeared at the back of Randy. Randy took out it's sword and then cut it's head. The centipede's body retreated back to the ground, but it's head was screeching. Until it shrunk.
The boys looked at each other. And was taken aback that the giant centipede attacked them again with a new head. Danny made ice katanas for himself and made Jake a big sword that matched his body.
The three of them kept cutting its head but it seems to keep growing. "I don't think I can keep this up much longer..." Randy said as he rested his hands on his knees. Everything was quiet, then the centipede burst out of the ground just right behind Randy and then was raining down on him with its mouth ready to eat him.

The Arcane Gunslinger
A lazy celestial being's mistake leads to Sergeant William Remington, a decorated member of the Coalition Marines, to be placed into a new body. His old life aboard the Valkyrie, an interstellar destroyer has also been replaced as he finds his new body in an unknown world. Where he learns of magic, skills, the system, helhorses, and slinging lead with ancient revolvers. Initially, he is skeptical of his new norm but the desire to survive leads him to try to earn a living while he figures out what just happened to his life. He's a fighter but far from the elite, a grunt with some experience. But what better way than to fall back to what he's familiar with, weapons and going after criminals and rebels. With the added challenges of monsters. This is my first Litrpg writing. It's a wild west fantasy setting with the MC taking a role as a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world of magic and monsters. Hope you enjoy it. UPDATES AT 3PM EST ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Warning. The story has a slow start because I'm trying to keep my MC realistic. It takes him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, start to make some friends, and really get into the swing of it. I kind of think it's dumb when an isekai's MC manages to blink twice and suddenly adapts to their new world without any sort of struggle or learning period. So not doing that but don't worry Will may be confused and a bit unfocused at first but he'll grow into his own. Also using it to practice my digital artwork... which is far from par but improving. Keep an eye on author notes for maps and depictions of monsters and characters.
