Taehyung sat huddled up inside of his room. It had been four days since his sleepover with Jungkook, and instead of everything being better between the two boys, it all went worse.
He, of course, didn't know about the talk Jungkook had had with his father so he thought the gardener had suddenly started avoiding him with his own intentions. His father hadn't expected this change of attitude to affect Taehyung in such a deep way. His son hadn't been outside or around the house ever since Jungkook disappeared out of his sight. He only stayed locked up in his room, holding sad tea parties and reading books which papers were now stained with shed tears.
Jungkook, on the other hand, wasn't feeling too good about it either. The said words bounced around inside of his head, cursing himself for being so utterly stupid. He promised not to hurt Taehyung, but he was forced to now or he could lose his job.
I want you to stay away from him. I only employed you to take care of some stupid plants. If I see you near him again, I'll be sure to inform your mother about your dismissal.
He sighed with bubbling frustration and kept shoveling up dirt. From where he was standing he could see Taehyung's window and the little shadow of the boy's position on the windowsill. He really wanted to yell out to him and apologize countless of times, spewing out the reason of his ignorance. But he couldn't. And so he kept silent, ignoring the desperate stare he knew he was getting.
Taehyung's father sighed and dropped his pencil on the desk. He couldn't concentrate on his sketching today. Taehyung hadn't joined him for breakfast that day, and neither did he for lunch. His worry grew every passing hour and it had reached a maximum now.
He stood up, the chair scraping backwards, and made his way to his son's room that was next to his. Knocking softly on the door, he wondered what he should say to the boy. But he couldn't come up with anything when a small 'yes' signalized him to enter.

He found the boy sitting on his windowsill, his face turned to look at the garden. Taehyung didn't move, knowing his father had walked inside and was taking a seat on his unmade bed. He really didn't feel like talking and the only person he wanted to talk to was outside, ignoring his presence.
"Taehyung".
The boy didn't budge which made his father sigh, drooping his shoulders.
"You haven't eaten at all today. I'm getting worried you know. The maids are fretting about it too".
His son still didn't give a sign of acknowledgement. The man didn't want to force his son to talk but this situation was getting out of hand. He couldn't let Taehyung's mental and physical health suffer from this.
The deadly silence in the room was broken by a soft sob. Taehyung's father stared at his son whose body was trembling from multiple loud cries racking through his small body. Taehyung had been trying to hold in his visible misery in front of his father but he couldn't keep it in any longer. Maybe it was his father's worried voice, or the fact he felt guilty for making the maids worry for him. Or maybe it was because Jungkook had just glanced at him and immediately turned his back to him, the gesture seeming like a jab into his big but fragile heart.
"H-He hates m-me", Taehyung cried, dropping his face into his hands, "J-Jungkook h-hates me".
He didn't notice the grim expression appearing on his father's face who realized he was the one hurting Taehyung, not Jungkook.
"He really doesn't", the man replied.
Taehyung snapped his head to his father with a frown edged onto his face. Anger was puddled into his eyes, which was a weird sight to the older. He was used to seeing Taehyung happy and content all the time.
"He has been ignoring me for four days on end now. I know I did something wrong that night, but he won't tell me why and he won't talk to me either. He goes out of his way every time I try approaching him", Taehyung cried out with frustration dripping off his words, "He hates me. He hates me. My only friend h-hates me".

The eighteen year old boy broke down into sobs again.
Taehyung's father reached out his hand but dropped it back down onto the bed.
"This is my fault", he mumbled, disappointed in himself.
Even though it was a silent statement, Taehyung had still caught what his father had said. He slowly raised his head and stared at the man on the bed, shock and disbelief swirling in his eyes.
"What did you do?", he rasped out, surprising himself with the anger laced in his voice.
His father sighed and looked down, "I had a reason but I can't tell you what it is. If Jungkook ever decides to warm up completely to you he might tell you what it is. I won't open up about his past but please Taehyung, believe me I had my reasons for doing this".
Taehyung abruptly stood up from his space on the windowsill and glared at his father, "Did you tell him to stay away from me?"
He didn't spare a second from running out when he saw his father nod.
He stormed downstairs, ignoring the maids who worriedly tried asking him what was wrong. He ignored the need to wear a jacket outside and ran towards the apple trees which were nearby his bedroom window. He knew Jungkook was working there, had been ever since this morning.
He spotted the raven haired male resting underneath one of the apple trees, shying away from the burning sun. The male's eyes widened when he caught sight of an angry Taehyung storming his way. He quickly jumped up from his spot in the shadow and panicked on what to do. He decided he would pick up his shovel again and proceed the work he was doing.
"Jungkook", Taehyung stated sternly, standing behind the said man. Jungkook ignored him even though it hurt him knowing the younger wanted to talk to him. He was going to demand answers and the gardener couldn't give him that.
"Jungkook!", Taehyung yelled out desperately, "Look at me! I demand you! I'm your boss too you remember!?"
I'm your real boss here. Taehyung doesn't pay you, I do. So you listen to me only alright? Ignore him whenever he demands you something. He can't fire you, but I can.
Jungkook shook his head and continued his labor, successfully ignoring the younger once again. He recalled what his master had told him four days ago and he never wanted to be fired. So, ignoring Taehyung was now just another part of his job.
"I know my father commanded you to ignore me".
This effectively made the shovel stop moving. Taehyung sighed in relief and neared the younger with careful steps. He gently placed his hand on Jungkook's bare arm and softly squeezed it.
"Please don't ignore me Kookie", Taehyung spoke, a crack in his voice breaking his words, "Father regrets what he did. Please don't ever ignore me. I can't handle losing my only friend".
Before Taehyung knew it he was squished in a painfully tight but warm hug from the older.
"I'm sorry Taehyung".
Taehyung's father smiled, though he still felt hesitant about his son's friendship with the gardener. He averted his eyes from the grinning males and went back to his room to finish his sketch.
