i try to keep in my screaming as i quickly type out a reply.
@valeriedavis: oh my god amanda?? it feels like it's been forever, how are you?!
she responds just as quickly.
@amanda.lilian: i'm good! rumor has it (aka twitter) that you're in brighton rn, is that true?
@valeriedavis: it's true!
@amanda.lilian: well you know... i'm actually in brighton right now too! my manager said i had "business" to take care of down here, might be signing with a big streaming company :o but i'd love to meet up and chat if you're up for that!
@valeriedavis: OMG REALLY? well congrats! that's awesome! and yes i'd love to talk, but we gotta make it soon, i think i'm only here for a couple more days. can we hang out tomorrow? maybe get coffee and breakfast?
@amanda.lilian: yes ofc! i know a really good cafe nearby, i'll send directions now. can i have your number so they're easier to send?

i sigh and smile.
well, turns out i'll be meeting yet another person while in brighton.
i leave the bathroom and see tommy standing nearby, talking to toby.
"hey, you're back," toby says as i approach them.
"yeah," i say, excitement evident in my voice.
"you sound happy," tommy says. i nod.
"i'm meeting up with amanda tomorrow."
"amanda..." tommy rubs his chin. "i've heard that name somewhere."
"she got second place on love or host." tommy snaps his fingers and nods.
"yes! her. she was funny. but she hosted me... anyway what time are you meeting her?"

"no specific time yet... just breakfast."
"okay cool. where?" i click my tongue before answering.
"she didn't say the name... just a cafe..." tommy sighs.
"you never know the details."
"she's texting them to me later!" as if on cue, my phone buzzes and amanda texts me a cafe i've never heard of, telling me to meet her there at 8 tomorrow morning. i show my phone to tommy.
"oh i've been there. it's pretty close to the airbnb. i can walk you over tomorrow and wait for you to finish, if you want." i smile.
"that'd be very nice of you, tommy."
"are you guys done flirting in front of me?" toby asks. i inhale sharply. i forgot he was there. tommy scratches the back of his head awkwardly.
"sorry, tubbo..." tommy mutters. toby laughs.
"it's okay. i'm gonna go over to wilbur, you can join if you want."
"sounds good." toby walks away, leaving tommy and i on our own.
"so..." i start. before i can say anything else, tommy takes my hand and walks me over to the line for arcade prizes. tommy leads me in front of him and hugs me from behind, with his arms over my shoulders and his chin resting on my head, our fingers entangled. i smile slightly.
"we're gonna get more vlog guns to piss wilbur off," tommy says, gently rubbing his thumb over my knuckles.
"sounds like a very tommyinnit thing to do," i chuckle. i hear tommy let out a happy sigh.
as the line gets shorter, we look at other things we can get with our tickets.
"let's get something for everyone," i say.
"everyone except wilbur," tommy replies.
"no. wilbur too."

"but-"
"you got these tickets with his money. it's only fair." tommy groans.
"i guess you're right," he says.
we end up getting two vlog guns, and then small things for everyone else. we got way fewer tickets this time, considering we weren't very good at the games, but it's the thought that counts.
"i can't wait to show wilbur that we got more of these," tommy says, holding up the vlog guns as we exit the line.
"where is he?" i wonder out loud.
"in the rink." tommy points to wilbur skating with niki and toby. i nod.
the rest of the day is filled with everyone fooling around and having fun. by midnight, we are all exhausted and ready to go home. the drive home is quiet, some people even drifting off to sleep. including tommy, who rests his head on my shoulder.
when we get home, i go on twitter to post a little and then get ready for bed. i set my alarm for 7 and eventually fall asleep.

When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.

A young man from early 21st century wakes up in a different world. This world is like a typical setting of an fantasy isekai novel. But it is also not. There is magic, alchemy, magical creatures, different non-human races, peasants and nobles, demons and dragons. But there is also politics, persecution, supremacism of every kind, entitlement, slavery and other unpleasant human tendencies. In short, this new world does not differ much from his old one. However, besides him, there may be others who have made such a strange trip, and awakened into this new world. There certainly have been others, in the past. But more than people and other living things, there have been items. All sorts of items, which are regarded as otherworldly artifacts with unknown danger and power. And he himself is an artifact as well, albeit a living one. Therefore he has use for the powers that be. He is also given a role and expectations to fulfill, to hide his real value. And in all that he still has to make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and find a way back, if possible. Author's note: I write this project mostly in (except chapter 1) in 60-100 page (40,000-70,000 word) chapters, edit them as such and later cut them down for publishing into 7-11 page segments (depending on natural breaks in the flow). Therefore, each chapter may be divided into 10-15 subchapters.
