《It's All For You》12 | reality

After I got inside, I made myself a sandwich and devoured it. Then I fell asleep instantly.
I woke up the next morning and called Gina.
"Hey, girlie," she answered, yawing. "It's so early."
"It's eight," I informed her.
"Exactly! So early."
I laughed. "Okay whatever. Can I come over today?"
"Yeah! Of course."
"Like right now?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah! I'll get my mom to make us breakfast. Come over."
Seeing Gina and her mom Jenny was the best thing I've done all week.
Jenny made eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, potatoes... I was in heaven.
"How's Grace?" Jenny asked in between bites of her delicious pancakes.
"What?" I asked, completely out of it. I was currently chugging my orange juice.
She laughed. "Your mom? She's on a business trip Gina tells me."
I nodded. "Oh, yeah. Sorry. Um, yeah she's doing good." She did text me on my way over here, saying stuff about how she's been so busy. "There's not a lot to say."
I finished up the last of my breakfast and Jenny came up behind me, rubbing my shoulders.
"Want seconds?" She grinned.
I laughed. "No thank you. I'm so full."
"Good," she said and grabbed my plate.
Gina pulled me up to her room after.
"You know," she said sitting on her bed and I did the same, "I love you and your visits, but why so early?"
I shrugged. "I don't know...I guess I just needed a reality check."
She looked confused. "From what?"
I wrung my hand together nervously. "From...Foster. The boy." I don't know why I didn't tell her his first name.
"Ooo, I finally get a name. Do you have a picture? I want to see!" She was grinning.

"No," I laughed. "I mean, we've just been together these past few days. And I mean like together."
"You've had sex? Because if you did you know you have to tell me all about it."
My face flushed. "No! It's just I feel like I'm living in a world of just him and I can't breathe."
Her head tilted to the side a little. "I love when I'm with Peter for like four days straight. I literally can't get enough."
Yeah, but that was a regular relationship where both parties told each other how they felt. And one of you wasn't involved with drugs.
"It's just, our time together makes me confused. He drives me crazy."
"Tell me about it," she encouraged, holding my hand.
So I told her. I told her about all the things Florencio does that makes my skin heat up, how he acts and about how I slept in his room. Just not about who he really is.
Gina listened tentatively. When I was done she asked, "are you guys dating? Because even I'm confused by this...relationship.
"I don't know... I mean I know I'm attracted to him. I know I like him." I shook my head. "But I can't trust him. What if he's using me, G? I don't want him to...leave."
The conversation I had with Natalie crossed my mind.
"You're cute. Maybe he'll take care of you. But if he disappears after you guys fuck, don't be shocked."
Had he done that to Natalie? She was beautiful and walked like she owned it all, so if he left her, what's the difference with me? I was surely much easier to leave.
"I'm gonna use the bathroom," Gina said, snapping me out of my thoughts, "we can watch a movie after, okay?" She left the room and I reached into my pocket for my phone.

I hesitated to click on the unsaved number and open a conversation with Florencio. I closed my eyes and clicked.
My fingers quickly typed the burning question I had and I pressed send without even thinking.
"Oh my god," I whispered.
The text read, have you slept with Natalie?
I turned off my ringer and put my phone back in my pocket. It was too late now and it's not like I could have said, "Ha! Sorry that was meant for someone else!"
This was insane. I wasn't actually concerned. How could I care for someone like him?
Gina walked back in and I said, "I think I'm going crazy."
She laughed.

The rest of my day with Gina was filled with movies and her moms delicious cooking. I didn't check my phone at all.
Driving back home though, I did see my phone screen light up. I recognized the unsaved number.
I answered it hesitantly.
"Hello?" I answered softly.
"Honey," Florencio said and I shivered.
"What do you want?" I answered, trying to sound annoyed.
"I'm at your house."
I sucked in a sharp breath. "Why?"
"I wanna have a sleepover."
I pulled the phone away from my ear and hung up.
I felt like such an idiot for letting Florencio get this close to me. And for driving faster.

Nobody's Way
Foreign Thorn: Book 1 For eight centuries, the people of Isla have wanted for nothing. The Creator, Maere, uses Her power not only to keep them healthy and fed, but also to map the direction of each person's future Path - their vocation, role in society, and even the partner they'll spend their life with. In a world where infighting once threatened the very survival of humankind, the old texts say that Maere personally stepped in to help guide Her creations to harmony. All is not well among the people of the northern lands, however, as Jian discovers when she receives her own long-awaited Path. The Creator has chosen to favour some towns, but not others, leading to anarchy and unrest in the east, and fierce distrust between the neighbours who enjoy Her protection and those who don't. After many nights of disturbing premonitions, visions of a face uncannily familiar to her, and a voice beckoning her to "Homeland," Jian decides she needs to find answers for herself. She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play. Madrigal and Jian aren't sure if Quinn can be trusted, but they're certain he knows more than he's letting on...

Uke in hand, Wesley made his way to the local branch of the Bard College to pick up a few levels and hit the road to travel the new world. For a while its all magic forests and incredible sights, but as time goes on it seems more and more likely that Wesley is actually one of these "prophesied heroes" that the lore on this world is full of. Fortunately for him, whatever Dark Lord he was supposed to duel didn't seem to get the memo and the world seems to be at peace. So it's probably nothing, right? This is the story of Wesley's adventuring party as they do their best to get him to fulfull his destiny. A power-hungry [Rogue], a slightly evil [Cleric], a [Mage] that just wants to go home, and a [Lord] who just wants to study the blade. Hopefully destiny is on their side, because the gods seem content to watch them struggle. Author's Note: This story should update once per week, but it might update more. "Reality is different than a story or a game." That's what my best friend used to say to the otaku me all the times and I myself knew full well that it's true. Well, that was until now... Why you ask? Let me ask you instead, what if you woke up one day, remembered your past life, then found out you are a harem member of a RPG game? The harem MC is childhood friend A and the main rival is my brother B. Hah! And that's just the beginning! You are mistaken if you think that's all.
