“Where have you to been?” Letty asked when we walked through the door. I looked up and saw that everyone was standing around the table, which was covered in maps.
“In the driveway.” Dom said when I didn’t respond. When I saw Vince standing over by the table I released Dom’s hand and went over to give him a hug.
“I’m glad you’re ok.”
“He never stood a chance of catching me in that beast, pipsqueak.” Vince said before messing up my hair.
“So, what are we going to do about that guy?” Rome asked bringing things back to the main issue.
“I’m going to make a quick call. You can fill them in if you want.” I said looking at Dom.
“Use my room.” Dom replied knowing I wouldn’t want to be down here for the discussion.
“Thanks.” I said and then ran up the stairs to his room.
I pulled out my phone and looked up the number that I never thought I would use. I took a deep breath before hitting the call button.
“Hello.” I head a male voice ask from the other end of the phone.
“Hey, is Luke Hobbs there?”
“You’re speaking to him, who is this?”
“It’s Amelia, I need a favor.”
“What kind of favor do you need? Your favors normally cause me issues.”
“Jared followed me to LA.”
“What are you doing in LA? The truck you’re supposed to be driving is in Missouri.”
“I kind of ditched the truck the day after I got out.” I said rubbing the back of my head. “That’s not the issue right now though. What can I do about him? He was waiting for me at my house.”
“First you can tell me exactly where you are. Then when I get there we will discuss what to do about that asshole.” I gave him the address and thought for sure he was going to blow a gasket. “I’ll be there in ten minute.” He said and then hung up.
“Shit.” I whispered to myself before opening up a text message and letting Mia know we were about to have a guest. I got back ‘ok’ and then sat down on the bed to wait for the explosion.
I heard pounding on the front door about five minutes later, and waiting for the yelling to start. I didn’t have to wait long, but I was surprised to find that Hobbs was the only one doing the yelling. “Where the hell is she?” I heard Hobbs yell. I snuck out of the room and over to the top of the steps so I could peak around the corner.
“Well hello to you to. How have I been? Just fine, thanks for asking?” I heard Tej say, leaning against the door.

“Cut the shit. Where is Amelia?” Hobbs said looking around the living room. I watched Dom walk over to Tej and place a hand on his shoulder.
“I got this, why don’t you head upstairs.” I watched Tej walk away from the door and up the stairs. I stood to where he wouldn’t see me until Dom, and Hobbs could no longer see him, and when he came into view I already had a finger up to my lips telling him to be quiet. I peeked back around the corner to watch the exchange.
“What are you doing here Hobbs? We’ve been following the rules.” Dom said looking at Hobbs with his arms crossed.
“Amelia called. She said Jared was in town, and she needed a favor. Now where is she?”
“Go back downstairs and into the kitchen.” I said pulling out my phone and sending a quick text to Dom. ‘He doesn’t know the whole story either.’ I said, and watched Dom pull out his phone as Tej walked back into the kitchen. I watched as Dom got an exasperated look on his face, before asking Hobbs into the kitchen.
“Apparently I’m her designated spokesperson for now.” After that Hobbs walked into the kitchen. He followed Hobbs to the kitchen, and looked up at where I was standing before opening the door.
‘I’m sorry.’ I sent before walking back into his room.
‘It’s fine.’ Dom sent back. I sat down on his bed against the headboard and pulled my knees up to my chest. I must have fallen asleep at some point, because the next thing I know Dom was shaking my shoulder lightly to wake me up. “You want to come downstairs now? He’s calmed down.” I nodded my head, and grabbed his hand, as he led me back downstairs, and into the kitchen. Dom sat down at the head of the table and pulled me into his lap.
As I looked at the others they had these looks on my face like they weren’t sure if they should pity me or not. When I looked at Hobbs sitting at the other end of the table I could tell he was still pissed, but he was hiding it well enough no one else could tell.
I sighed before resigning myself to whatever he was going to say. “Let it out Hobbs, I know you’re still pissed.” I said. Everyone looked from me to Hobbs then back again. They turned back to Hobbs quickly when he slammed his hands down onto the table.
“Damn right I’m pissed.” He yelled standing up from his seat. I squeezed Dom’s hand, and he squeezed mine back in return. It was the only outward sign I gave that this bothered me. I reached over with my other hand and snagged Dom’s beer of the table, taking a drink as Hobbs continued to yell. “If you had told me about any of this when it happened, or even when I asked you about it we could have avoided this entire mess. You wouldn’t have had to suffer nearly as much as you did. Yes your parents would still be dead, but we could have pulled you out of the house that pervert lived in quicker if you had spoken up, hell we could even have had Jared behind bars after the first time he hit you. What the hell were you thinking? If you hadn’t ended up in jail that night you wouldn’t be standing here now. You would be six feet under.”

“Did you ever stop to think that maybe that’s what I wanted at that point in my life? I was never in the right place in my mind. I was always off. Everyone knew I was just going through the motions. Everyone knew there was something wrong with me, even you, but no one tried to help me. The only place I could go and actually feel human was the garage. The only place I felt normal and happy was behind the wheel. I asked you to do one thing for me when they locked me up and tried to throw away the key, and you couldn’t even do that. I know what they did to her. Did you think I wouldn’t find out?”
“Who told you?” Was all he asked as he sat back down, but I could see the muscle ticking in his jaw. He was livid.
“Jen did, no one else in there would tell me anything about my baby. She told me she was too much for you guys to handle.” I said smirking at Hobbs. Everyone was looking at me in shock except for Hobbs and Dom.
“I guess she didn’t tell you then that she doesn’t know the first thing about cars.” Hobbs said standing up. He walked over to where I was sitting with Dom and grabbed my hand pulling me over to the front door. Everyone was following behind us, and Dom ran into me when I stopped on the top step of the porch. Dom was also the one to catch me when my knees gave out and the tears started pouring down my face. Sitting on the side of the road was my baby, a 1970 Dodge Challenger, in plum crazy purple.
“How?” Was all I could say through the tears.
“Like I said she doesn’t know the first thing about cars. When I heard them talking about crushing your car I found another one the same make and model, painted it the same color, and that night switched it out for yours. The next morning they put the imposter on a wrecker, and had it crushed. No one even checked to see if it was the same car, they just assumed it was.”
I walked over to my car, while listening to Hobbs talk. I reached out to touch it, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. What if it was just a dream? What if it wasn’t really mine? What if I am still dreaming? “She’s still just the way you left her. I would start her up and drive her around the block once a week to make sure nothing rusted up on you, but other than that she hasn’t been touched. Nothing has been moved from where you left it.”
“Nothing?” I asked looking at the car like it was about to bite me. I could tell they didn’t understand the sudden change in my demeanor, but all I could remember was that last night in the car. How he had forced me before the race, and just through that thing in the backseat.
“Nothing.” Hobbs repeated looking from me to the car and back to me. When he noticed I was staring at the backseat he walked over and opened the door. When he reached for the handle to set the seat forward I broke out of Dom’s arms and ran back into the house. I didn’t stop running until I was upstairs in the bathroom with the door locked behind me. I knew what they would find in the backseat. On top of the condom was a bloodstained blanket. He always made me bleed when he took me.
I looked at myself in the mirror over the sink. I looked a mess. My makeup ran down my face in streaks. I was exactly what he had made me. I was weak, and nothing was going to change that. I was relying on other people to take care of my problems for me. I was nothing. I screamed at the person staring back at me before punching her right in the face. The glass shattered around me. I turned to the shower and turned the hot water on before stripping out of my cloths and stepping into the shower. I stayed in the shower trying to scrub away the dirty feeling that was all over my body until the water ran cold and was tinged pink with my blood. I shut the water off before climbing out of the shower. I wrapped a big towel around my body before walking through the glass to the door. I knew the glass was cutting into my feet, but I couldn’t feel it anymore. I was too lost in my own mind. I unlocked the door and walked over to the room I something stayed in at Dom’s. I closed the door behind me, and lay down on the bed. I curled up in a ball and cried myself to sleep.

Nowhere to Run
Nina is a young priestess that just started her journeys in the Highlands, in a faraway land. But everything falls apart when greater forces are scheming and unknown men are suddenly after her. She will have no choice but to resort to her wits, make unexpected allies, and navigate her way through unforgiving lands in order to survive. Will she be up to the task? Greetings, reader! First of all, thank you for taking an interest and read my story. This is a story I've been working through all my life. But since I'm a first-time writer, I wanted to start with something small. This is just a small part of something much greater that hopefully one day I'll be able to translate into words as well. I will try to make it interesting as possible but please bear with me. Please understand that English is not my native language, I worked really hard to write in English the best I could. So please if you find any typos and grammar errors let me know. I'll try to upload new chapters as soon as I can. Although I had originally planned to deliver a chapter a MONTH, I think the real estimate would be a chapter EVERY 3 MONTHS since I also have to earn the daily bread. Cover picture made by me. The background picture is from Google but I modified it enough from the original. The story is also available on Wattpad, Inkitt, Scribblehub, and Webnovel.

I will go back and edit book one’s chapters after I get book two finished. If you all want to point out the errors in the earlier chapters I will gladly edit those things ASAP)
