《Cars to Humans》Chapter 15: When The World Seems to End

(Lightning's POV)
I was led into a conference room with several scientists and business men. I parked at the end of the table, and the army vehicle, who I found out was named Marvin, parked across from me. Marvin whispered requests to the servants around the room, and soon many refreshments and comforts were delivered to the room.
"Alright McQueen, spill the information." Marvin demanded.
I shrugged, "What exactly do you want to know?"
"Hmm....well, first off, did you learn any strengths and weaknesses?"
I thought hard about the question, "Well, I didn't really notice any, but I would say a strength is their security. I was taken to two agency's and security was always tight. A weakness would have to be some of their technology. I was tested a few times, and sometimes the results would be wrong."
Marvin nodded. "Interesting. Alright, what about artillery and weapons?"
"They had lots of guns and tazers. I never saw any missiles or anything."
"What about the people? How were you treated?"
"I was, actually, treated very well by one agency, but....."
"What?"
"Well, one agency would capture cars lost in the human world and inject them with a red liquid. This would force the car to stay there in the human world, forever. I was injected, but the good agency I stayed with had another way of getting us home."
Marvin nodded, "Do you remember what the agency's were called?"
"The Human Imposters Agency and the Saving Imposters Agency."

After I gave Marvin and the group information on the human world, I was sent to a training facility. I was to work on getting used to my car again and to work on my military training. War was coming very close.

I was into my second hour of military training, when the facilities doors burst open. It was Sally and Mater. I rushed over to them and snuggled Sally affectionately. She snuggled me back and I pulled away to look at her. She looked like normal Sally, except her eyes were teary and red, and she looked as if she hadn't slept for months.
Mater was his usual tow truck self, and he was here, also, for military training. Mater smiled his buck tooth smile and went over to one of the machines, while Sally and I parked at a nearby table.
"Oh Stickers! I was so worried! What happened? Where did you go?" she asked.
So, I spent the next half hour explaining everything to her, and she just stared at me with her mouth agape. After I explained everything, she gave me a sort of hug and smiled. "Lightning, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. I'm just SO glad you are home and safe."
She smiled and turned away. She stopped and looked back at me, motioning for me to follow her. I shrugged and shook my hood. She drove back towards me.
"Come on, Stickers. Let's go home."
"I can't."
She looked confused, "Why not?"
I motioned towards the training equipment, "I'm gonna fight, Sally."
She looked at me, shocked. "You're gonna...what?"
"Sally, I was asked to fight against the humans. I have no choice."
"Um....okay. Just-Just promise me you'll be careful?"
I smiled, "I promise."

I was, later, fitted with an army paint job. Camo was the base color and I had military badges painted on my fenders and sides. I was equipped with military weaponry and heavy duty, dirt driving tires.

I was given my orders, and I was assigned a helicopter. I drove into helicopter 19 and saw many other military cars. I parked in an empty space and sighed. I was only minutes away from war.
Then, the helicopters took flight, and we were on our way to the battlefield. My tank lurched as I thought to myself.
I was ready. Physically: yes. Mentally: no.
I was acting brave, but, deep down, I was terrified.
Deep down, I was apprehensive.
I couldn't do this.
Not after all I've seen.
Not after all the humans I met.
I couldn't stand the fact......I was going to murder people.
For what?
Just so we can have the planet to ourselves?
Why can't we get along?
The world didn't make sense anymore.
Nothing made sense.
I'm a race car.
Not a military car.
I wasn't built for this.
I knew this was wrong.
But, what did I do?
Be the role model...
or the traitor?

It isn't all fun and games as the Goddess who brought the teenager here has sent him on a mission - to rid the evil forces that had risen in the world and threaten the balance of the realm. Together with his three dragon companions, Ryder traveled across different lands as he found himself involved in the matters of both tragic and entertainingly eccentric individuals. So, if you like How to Train Your Dragon or just dragons in general, isekai adventure stories, and/or a found family-esque story with witty banters and interesting characters, then this is what you're looking for! Note: This is an anthology series, therefore the arcs are not presented in a linear fashion. There will be recurring characters and arcs that continues story threads from previous "chapters", but, for the most part, each arc standalone as a complete story, so you can pick and choose what you want to read. If you watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon series before, it's basically like that.I'm still relatively new in writing, so I would appreciate it if you'll be kind enough to provide feedback!

Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!
