《Whodunnit? Murder On Mystery Mountain》12 Trail Of Blood

Summer, Zayne, Greer, Cole, and Jericho followed Lana into Trinity's cabin. It seemed completely normal. The bed was not touched, the shelves were not cluttered, even the kitchen was barely used. Nothing could have hinted at a murder. The group stepped into the cabin and Lana retreated out the front door. She sat below a window and listened to their voices from above.
Cole was not going to play around with this investigation. He wanted this over with and done. How hard could it be to find clues? The only answer he got was the wind outside, whipping the windows open and shut. Behind him, Greer picked up a fallen glass. "Could this be important?" Cole turned to her. "It could." He said, examining it.
In the next room over, Summer and Zayne were searching. "No sign of a struggle." Zayne said, putting down a fuzzy pillow back on the couch. "This is such bullshit." He sat down, putting his face in his hands. "We're just gonna die." Summer walked over. "You can't think like that. A person who gives up will never win." She quoted one of the most famous camp Redwood quotes. "Just keep your head up. I know it's hard."
Zayne nodded quietly and the resumed their investigation. Summer almost fell over in shock. "Oh my-!" She pointed to a small rear window. It was cracked open just enough, almost enough for someone to slip through. Zayne shot up and together they looked at the window. On the sill were spatters of blood. The blood was dried and the deep shade of Summer's blouse. "Look! It trails!" Zayne pointed down to where the blood was spattered in drops that led to a small clearing.
Summer and Zayne flung open the window, jumping out and following the trail of blood. "Should we tell them?" Summer turned to look at the open front door of the cabin. Zayne looked at her. "I will. Go find out where this leads." He raced back into the cabin as Summer ran into the woods. The blood spatters were disappearing in smaller and smaller drops till there none left and Summer stopped.

The others shot out of the woods in that moment. Jericho's eyes followed the blood to where Summer was standing. "Wow. Why does it stop here?" He stepped forward. "And where was she taken?" He looked around, expecting an answer. A loud pant suddenly breached the silence. Lana ran into their view, out of breath. "You can't just leave!" She shouted. "There are rules."
Lana had tried to chase them down. She knew this could not be good to the killer. He or she would be furious. Zayne held up his hands. "We had to follow a lead, sorry if that inconveniences you." He said, rolling his eyes. Cole jumped to her defense. "She's just doing her job. What's the big deal?" He walked to where she was and stormed off. The group dispersed.
It was Greer who saw the black glove, resting on the beaten path. She smiled to herself, proud of making the discovery. The killer probably left this very glove by accident. Unless Trinity had been wearing gloves but Greer highly doubted that. She was used to getting what she wanted and this was no different. Greer stood up and pocketed the glove.
