《Her story (Britain x France)》Chapter 2

"Ok then, have a nice day and take care"
"Ok, yes, I'll try...thank you" America had knocked on his fathers open door after getting off the phone with one of the doctors treating his mother, she was awake but unable to have visitors for a while, America had been asking the doctor about alternatives to helping his father, he explained he won't talk openly and he's worried about Britain's mental health
The doctor and America were able to come up with a solution that should help his father deal with his pain, he loved France more than anything and was so worried about loosing her, especially because he blames himself, he tells himself he should have seen the signs that she wasn't ok, that she was incredibly sick but he didn't until it was almost to late, these thoughts were so painful to Britain that he couldn't even say her name out loud without crying like a new born baby
He feels he wasn't a good enough husband to her and that if something goes wrong she won't have many good memories of him, he just wants his wife back safe and sound
"What is it" he said turning to his son
"I just spoke to Dr Croft-"
"Is she ok! What did he say" Britain interrupted
"Moms better but isn't exactly good yet..." America replied scratching the back of his neck
Britain looked down and put his face in his hands, he could feel his eyes tearing up
"But that's not all" America added
"He also talked about way to help yo-"
"I said I don't need help..."
Britain tried to sound strong as he said that but he knew he failed, he knew he was weak and why wouldn't he be "look dad, this method has no communication with me or the others it's just you and this" he said holding up a leather book with a small pin on the inside, the pin was a flag, half Britain and half France

Britain took the book and dropped to his kneesbut when he opened it all he saw was Blanca pages with faint blue lines for writing "what is this for America" he asked rubbing his tears
"I heard you yesterday...spilling out your fear of mom d-... mom not coming home with just bad memories of you, how you just want to let her know you love her still but im telling you know that mom knows dad and this book will help you realise this too"
Britain stared at his son confused "Did your brothers hear me?"
"No just me, they were all watching Aladdin" America replied to reassure his father, he walked over and kneeled next to his dad "this book is for you to write about all the times you and mom had together, like a diary on the past, the doctor says as you write about the past you remember details you had forgotten, I want you to write about mom and I promise nobody will read it, if you wanna share you read it to us, ok dad"
Britain smiled softly at his son "thank you" he said hugging America, it took a moment for it to kick in what was happening and America hugged back, "where do I start tho" Brit said with a small chuckle, he hadn't chuckled in a long time and thi brought a smile to America's face "why not start from the beginning dad, obviously" he said chuckling at his father while patting him on the back
The two stood up and America left the room "I'll leave you to it"with that he shut the door leaving Britain alone in the dark with this new book
He walked to his desk and turned on his desk lamp, he grabbed out an old black pen with small lines swirling around and indented into the pen
"Now then, how we met" he thought back to that day, he thought of all the small details he needed to remember, he looked at his page with a small blush drifting across his face

"I was such a prick back then hehe, what did she see in me..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I remember that day almost perfectly, I was young and had recently joined the world unity of powerful countries, it's an unknown time before any large wars started, my nation was growing and my father couldn't be prouder, I was talking to China about potential plans, see if we could stoke a deal or something "well Brit that is an interesting idea" he said looking at me strangely "but why, what's in it for China" he said referring to himself in third person, I don't know why he use to do that
"Incase something goes wrong, we can build of each other and grow stronger than any country before us" I said, I was such an idiot back then, I should have just enjoyed the peace like everyone else rather than trying to create an army
My oldest friend Portugal noticed that I had put myself in an odd situation with this powerful country and ran over to help me "sorry China, need some assistance from this posh boy right here, Tchau!"
He grabbed my shoulder and forcefully made me leave the situation "hey what the heck" I said upset "your not gonna get through to China, just wait for someone else to open up to our Aliança ok?"
"Fine" I said dusting off my coat and adjusting my tie, then I heard an angel "Bonjour sir, do you know where I can get some-" I turned my head to see a girl just standing there as Greece just walked away "woah" I remember said out loud "food..." she finished saying as she lowered her arm in defeat "she looks sad" I heard my friend wiper to me
I flicked back and looked at him "what are you say" I said crossing my arm "IM not saying anything but you look like your getting pretty defensive there buddy" he said again and I looked away "don't get to attached till you have an actual conversation" he said walking around me to make me look at him, he looked over my shoulder and said
"Speaking of that-"
"Bonjour! Can you help me?"
I spun around faster than a spinning top and looked into her eyes, all countries had the same black white eyes, but hers sparked like snow "I'm looking for some food but I'm kinda knew and don't know where anything is" she said looking down at me, did I forget to say she was taller than me by a decent amount
"O-oh ya sure we can help" I said, I don't know why I stuttered when I hadn't even met her yet, maybe I just new, maybe she knew and that's why she asked me over the other countries, I must have been faxed out because Portugal had to step in "the is Great Britain by the way but we call Brit and I'm Portugal, nice to meet yooooooou"
"Oh mon, I'm sorry je suis France, it's nice to meet you" she said with a smile so warm a bright, it puts stars to shame
I wish I actually thought about he like this back then, I always knew she was pretty but I had no idea I would fall so hard so fast for this lovely girl
"Here France, I'll show you to the food, Portugal you coming"
I said finally breaking out of my embarrassment and back into my confidence and bitterness "oh ya I'm coming" said my friend as the three of us headed to the cafe close bye
((Please not that if any translations are wrong, blame google translator, I'm relying on them, also history is confusing as shit so be prepared for not so historically accuracies, France and Britain especially have a complicated relationship irl so bare with me, I'm doing historical research as I go))
Agenda of the Villainess
As the daughter of a duke, Lady Alicia Senius expected to awaken her latent magical ability during her Blooming ceremony. She was not expecting her connection to the flowers of Fate to awaken memories of a past life, however, and certainly not memories that were somehow inextricably tied with her future. Now, Alicia must find a way to escape the fatal punishment that is the destiny of a villainous noble girl. In doing so, she might even alter the fate of the whole world. This novel is a steampunk take on the otome villainess genre, heavily inspired by the late Victorian era of England and with a system of magic based around floweral circuitry. If that sounds like your cup of tea, why not give it a shot? Updates on Thursday every week.
