Highkey though, buckle up, things are gonna get serious from here-
--
He's baffled by her response. He let her continue to walk ahead of him as he stalked behind, wondering what's suddenly gotten into her.
"I don't know, Tamaki. Maybe the fact that there's going to be underage drinking over there. That's dangerous, don't you think?" True, her tone came out a bit harsh but the invitation had bad news written all over it.
She felt uncomfortable especially when she was after informed that the girl who invited him had a crush on him. She had a feeling boil inside her heart.
Was it jealousy?
She scowls to herself and tries to ignore those feelings as Tamaki walked in front of her,
"Hey, we don't have to drink. I-I just think this would be a good opportunity to mingle and have some fun. Make some new friends, right?"
She stares at him with a deadpan gaze,
"I'm not really hanging out around here to make friends, Tamaki."
"You're friends with me."
"That's different!" She exclaims back at him as the two stand in the middle of the street. Tamaki then hears a buzz coming from his pocket and he takes out his phone.
"It's my dad." He tells her before taking the phone.
"Hey dad?"
"Oh son, where are you?"
"Sorry dad, I'm staying over after school for tutoring. Why, what's up?" He lies but makes it so convincing with his voice.
"Oh okay. Well, I have an emergency and let's just say I'll be out for a couple of days. I'm so sorry this is last minute but.."
He doesn't want to tell his son.
"It's important. Look, in due time I will explain but please take care of yourself when I'm gone, okay?"
"When do I never?" He retorts back with now a shift of tone. He's sad that his dad is leaving again. He can't believe it.
'Actually, I can.' He takes back what he just said.
"I really feel bad, Tamaki, but I like I said, things will make sense later."
"Whatever you say." He mutters.
"Tamaki, I love you. You know that right?"
"Yeah..I do, dad...
Love you too."
His dad sighs in happiness, almost teary eye to hear him say that on the other end.
'Why did he sound like he was going to die? Geez'
He hangs up and Maki is left to wonder what just happened.
"Looks like my dad's gonna be out of town."
The two continued their conversation at the house.
"Look, I know it's weird. My admirer is inviting me to this party but like, nothing's gonna happen. I'll be with Akio and Daichi the whole time. It's no biggie."
"Hm..okay." She seems hesitant.
"If you want, you can come over to see that there's no harm."
She shakes her head, crossing her hands.
"Sorry Tamaki. I don't think I'll go..." She cringes at the idea going to a party. "I think Suki and I will just stay home and watch evening cartoons or something."
Tamaki frowned and noticed how upset Maki is. But to her, she has no idea why those feelings came to her.
She had hope the two would spend time together on a friday night but she wasn't Tamaki's mom. He can do whatever he pleased.
But oh, if only he had listened to her.

Days passed and it's Friday late afternoon.
Maki and Suki both sit on the couch together as Tamaki showcases the different type of outfits he could wear to this party.
She looks up with a cup of water in her hand, legs crossed to see Tamaki in a fashionable, black collar sweatshirt with pants to match.
"How do I look?"
"..."
"You look like an E-boy." She admits and he almost chokes at that.
"What?! How?"
"Come on, the sweatshirt is a dead give away." She settles her drink down. "You know, I've never been to a party but I know you don't have to overdo it."
"H-hey, I thought the button down shirt I tried before was nice.."
"Wayyy too fancy." She complains. "Just be casual."
"How?"
She sighs before getting up her seat.
"Alright, let me help you."
Maki was no fashionista but damn, she chose the right outfit. Tamaki ended up going in a burgundy bomber jacket he had with a casual black shirt with nice jeans underneath. He brought his Chelsea's with him.
He almost felt bad that Maki didn't go with him and his friends. She sadly watched him go, but she also can't help but admire how he looked.
'You look so good, Tamaki.'
She mentally slaps herself after what she said before closing the door behind her. At least, Tamaki promised he'd come at least around 9.pm.
Shouldn't be too long, right?
Things don't always go out the way she wants to though.
Tamaki enters the luxurious penthouse of Akina Tachibana and immediately, he's greeted by disco lights and loud music booming across the house.
Everyone is dancing, snacking or huddling themselves near the punch bowl.
"Oh yeah, this is what I'm talking about!" Akio screams before pulling Daichi to the punch bowl. Tamaki looks amazed by the scenery. The place was grand.
'If only Maki came..' He felt upset by that but then Akio comes back and grabs him.
"Don't mope that Maki decided not to come! Come on, let's have fun!" He cheers and Tamaki silently nods, coming back to his senses.
Dare by Gorillaz plays as the three boys cheers to one another before chugging the red, suspicious red punch lying near the dance floor.
Most of their faces contort from the sour taste. There was definitely alcohol in it, but it was so strong.
The taste of tingling Vodka stains his lips and he tries to digest the aftermath sensation. He kinda didn't want to drink anymore, but his friends said otherwise.
"Yeah, come on, buddy. Open wide!" Akio forces his mouth open once more and then pools of punch drop all the way down into his system.
Tamaki tries to take it all in as the song plays
Never did no harm, Never did no harm.
It's dare.
"Hey you think that stuff is good. Why don't you try some actual beer?" Another party guest bumps into the group, holding actual beer in his hands.
"Where'd you get that?" Daichi asked loudly.
"Akina's older brother got it for us. Pretty cool, huh?" He laughs before plopping one into Tamaki's hand.
"Oh, I don't think I should drink anymore-"
"Oh come on! What's the point of you coming to this party anyways if you're not going to drink?!" The classmate says with a pout. He then pushes the beer closer to Tamaki.
"Hey chill. He's going to drink it, right Tamaki?" Akio looked at Tamaki who now seemed a bit frantic. But the older classmate simply pointed a finger at him.

"Akina and her brother spent so much money on drinks just so everyone can try. I just don't want him wasting it."
"Okay, okay!"
He gives into the peer pressure.
"I'll do it." He's brave, he thinks and hopes the bottle.
He looks into the hole before taking a small sip.
"Nah, nah, nah. That's not good enough!" The classmate shouts before grabbing the end of it and makes Tamaki swallow it whole.
He doesn't know how he managed to do it but he did. He drank the full beer can and everyone cheered around him.
"Now you're cool, Tamaki." The guy smirks before leaving him and his friends there. His friends drank too and the effects were kicking in big time for these first timers.
"Come on, let's go dance!"
The three danced and danced for an hour, not skipping a beat and jamming to the party music. He moved up and down, almost jumping from all the hype he was feeling. His whole vision slightly blurred a bit.
He found himself coming to his senses when Akina, the birthday girl, finally approaches her in her mini dress.
"Hey Tamaki!" She shouts with a big grin on her face. He finds her hands dangling around his neck as the two began to dance together.
"H-Hey.." He says and she laughs.
"Having fun, aren't we? I saw you from upstairs and I didn't know you were such a party animal."
"I-err, not really." He admits with a slight chuckle and her grin never wavers.
"Haha, you are so cute!" She proclaims before they danced some more. The music resumed, playing loud over them as they sweat and dance together.
A more slowed version of On the Floor plays and things start to go haywire.
Tamaki finds himself waving his hands up and down with her. He spins her around as she laughs in her arms.
He thought they were only having fun as dance mates but she stops them.
Dance the night away
Live your life and stay young on the floor
Dance the night way
"We should have a toast together." She smiles and before he can say anything, she rushes to the drinking table. She grabs cups for them with alcohol in them. She quickly takes something out of her pocket from her dress.
A strange, pink pill that she instantly crushes and puts it in his own drink, but not hers.
She comes back and she gives him the party drink with a drug laced in it.
"A toast. To my birthday!" She says before the two clink drinks. He looks at the liquid and thank god it wasn't as much as the bottle. He drinks it without thinking there was suspicion.
-
Maki looked at the time in the living room. It was past nine.
"Where could Tamaki be? Is he still there?" She wondered and knew she shouldn't stay and think some more. Instead, she takes a sweater and follows the place marked on the invitation card.
-
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor
Tamaki is so out of it. His whole vision has entirely been blurred and he could no longer hear or see anything. Everything was so distorted.
He nearly collapsed but Akina catches him with a laugh.
"Woah, you must be tired!" She says and he still has his head hung down for a bit.
"Mmm..l-leave me alone.." He mumbles as she leans her ear in.
"Sorry Tamaki, I can't hear you..maybe going to my room will be better, huh?" He tries to say something but only seems like gibberish comes out of his lips.
She laughs and takes him to her room. Akio and Daichi watch from afar as they dance,
"Haha, looks like Tamaki is going to get it!"
Moments after, Maki blazes into the party room and finds herself so lost from all the flashing lights.
She drives in until she bumps into someone.
"Hey, you're Tamaki's friend!" She exclaims when she sees now a drunken Daichi.
"Y-Yeahhh." he hiccups. "Maki time!!"
She flinches when he wraps an arm around her and he brings his smelly breath into her ear.
"I-iii was hoping you'd come. Y-You're soo pretty. "
"Where's Tamaki?" She asked and he laughs.
"Ohhhh, I think hhhe's getting railed by Akina upstairsss."
Her eyes widened and she immediately pushes him away to go find Tamaki. But he grabs her wrist before she can leave.
"Noooo stay with me, please!" He whines. "L-Let's have some fun!"
And then,
his hand comes at her from behind and he tries to smack her below, but she forcefully grabs him by the wrist and snaps it.
He screams out loud and before he knows it, his body is thrown down to the floor.
"Sorry but not sorry." She seethed her teeth before running from the crowd and up the stairs she goes.
She looks into the rooms and no one yet until she comes across the last room.
"TAMAKI!" She screams before hitting the door down.
The strawberry blonde gasped and pushes her knees up from the floor, with her teeth close to her teeth.
Maki froze in her spot and gasped at the sight.
She witnessed the young girl briefly trying to pull his pants down.
Tamaki was unconscious on the floor with his shirt stripped away. He could not tell the girl to stop.
"What the heck are you doing?" Maki asked the girl and the girl began to tremble in fear.
"I-It isn't what it looks like!" She screams at Maki.
"I think it is.." Maki shoots back before going to poor Tamaki, who slowly opened his eyes.
He murmured few words but none of it made sense.
She leans closer.
"S-S-sorry.."
"Fuck Tamaki, why weren't you careful?!" She asked but the boy could not register what he said. He was completely wasted.
"Y-You're not going to tell anyone about this, are you?" Akina asked as Maki pulls him up. He rests his arm around her shoulder, trying to stay up.
"Maybe." She looks at her with a threatening gaze and the girl out of being scared, lashes out at Maki.
Maki grabs her hand quickly and with her leg, she kicks her down to the bed.
"Don't even try it." She roars with frustration before taking Tamaki out of this hell hole.
The whole way, Maki was lecturing and screaming at Tamaki who only took in a few words what she said. All he knew is that she was pissed.
She plops him down to the couch with a trash bin nearby. She forced him to lay on his belly before he threw up into the bin.
It was a disaster but even though Maki wanted to kill Tamaki for not being careful, she had to care for him first.
"It's okay, let it out!" She instructs as he threw up more and more. Suki watched in disgust before leaving them alone.
"S-S-sorry *hic* I wasn't being too careful." He admits before laying his head on the side.
"Ugh, that girl tried to take advantage of you! How did you or your friends not get the signs?!"
"I-I didn't think.." He only says.
"Oh, you think this only happens to girls? Think again, Tamaki!"
She found herself exhausted from lecturing him. After he threw all of that garbage out, Maki placed a blanket over him.
She was going to try to make a hangover treatment she found on the internet minutes ago..
"M-Maki...thank youuuu." He slurs at her and she just looks at him.
She tries to leave but he calls out once more.
"M-M-Makiii...
I-I like you."
She lets out a 'tch' before walking up the stairs.
"Yeah I think I like you too, dimwit."

My Girlfriend, the Necromancer
The power of the Orb cleaves the skies and shatters the earth. It heralds the advent of a new era, one where humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain and we must rise to the challenge when faced with our own extinction as a species. I could hardly care less. All I ever wanted was to love my Allie, to grow old and wrinkly by her side as I held her hand before taking my last breath on this green earth. To have our love echo through the ages, an ode to the last great love story on the planet, one that would endure the end of humanity, the breaking of the world, and even defy the dread summons of Death itself. It’s said that when the gods unleash their fury upon mortal kind, they grant their wishes. Well, crap. This is a gritty end of the world survival story with modern fantasy/romance/game-like elements in it. The main focus will be character development while stats and menus are there as a fun vehicle to empower the imagination. This is a work in progress and I deeply appreciate any helpful suggestions, so please don't be shy with input! Currently posting at least one chapter per week.

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
