The light from the window in front of me wakes me up. My eyes flutter open and I'm met with the morning sun. I feel a pair of warm arms wrapped around me and I can feel Matthew's light breathing on my neck. I can't help but smile at his embrace.
He squeezes me closer to him and presses a kiss to my shoulder. The butterflies swarm in my stomach. This is everything I've wanted. I turn around in his arms to face him.
"Good morning, Matthew Gray." My hand reaches up to cup his cheek. My thumb slightly rubbing his cheekbone.
"I didn't think you'd be awake yet." He smiles. I assume he's hinting at my habit of sleeping in too late.
He presses his forehead against mine.
Kiss me, already. Just kiss me, Matthew Gray Gubler.
"You want to go grab some breakfast." He asks his nose slightly nudging my own. Another anticlimactic situation.
"Of course." I say trying to mask my disappointment. His phone begins to ring, and instant dread fills my bones. I already know who it is. I watch at he looks at the collar ID.
"I-I'm gonna take this outside." He sighs and hurriedly leaves the rooms. For a second I had forgotten our complicated situation. I sit up and run my hands through my long black hair. I step out of the warm sheets and reach for my makeup bag and clothes. I walk into the bathroom and close the door behind me. I blink the tears forming in my eyes away.
He's here with you, Lydia. Not his wife. That means something. I finish brushing my teeth and washing my face.
Why won't he kiss me? Does he feel the same guilt I've been feeling? Why did he invite me then?

I cover up my active acne and acne scars with my concealer, along with the dark circles under my eyes.
He obviously must be returning my feelings. Why else would he be spooning me, and kiss my shoulder?
I quickly apply blush and bronzer to make myself a little bit more lively. I brush through my eyebrows with a clear gel.
I can't stop thinking about him calling me beautiful. He looked so sincere. So honest.
I curl my eyelashes before applying mascara. I also run a pink tinted lip gloss over my lips.
Maybe he's scared that his wife will find out. I could understand, but he's not happy. Would a happy man invite another woman to his hotel room? Maybe he's just using me.
I take my pajamas off and and fold it before placing it on the counter. I pull on my jeans and an oversized flannel.
Maybe I'm just an ego boost for him. God, that's so pathetic.
"Everything okay in there?" Matthew calls out pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm just getting ready." I tell him before spraying on my perfume. I open the door and avoid his eye contact as I place my things back into my bag.
"I like that perfume." He mentions.
"Thanks." I mutter before I go to fix my side of the bed.
"What're you doing that for?" He questions and I finally look at him.
"My mom worked as a hotel maid while I was growing up. She used to complain all the time about how people would leave their rooms, so I try to make the maids job as easy as possible." I tell him and he cocks his head to the side. A small glimpse of a smile.
The phone call keeps gnawing at me. Why me? Why did he pick me out of every girl he's come across? Maybe I'm the one that was dumb enough to agree to it.

"Who was on the phone?" I ask without meeting his eyes.
I already know the answer by his silence. I nod my head and sit on the edge of the bed with my back towards him. I feel the weight shift next to me, but my eyes stay starting out the window.
"Lydia, look at me."
I ignore him.
He places his hand on my jaw and moves my head to face him, "Hey, look at me."
My green eyes meet his. They remind me of a hopeless puppy.
"I'm here...with you. I wanted you here with me. Only you, but you're free to go whenever you want to, okay?" His hand moves so it's now cupping my cheek. His eyes are pleading. Maybe I'm dumb, or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic.
"I want to stay." I tell him. He pulls me into a hug. Matthew's hand slowly rubs my back. I'm instantly comforted by the action.
"I'm gonna get dressed and then we'll go get breakfast, alright?" He pulls away and I nod my head. As he gets up I notice something odd.
He took off his wedding ring.

The Silver Mana - Book 1: Initiate
I used to be a healthy, young guy with a normal life - I had a career planned in professional soccer, a girlfriend, lots of hobbies, and loads of fun. Until the accident. Which changed my life. A few years later I had adjusted to my new reality, adjusted to being in a wheelchair, adjusted to having someone take care of me 24/7. And then the world changed. Old people and kids did not make it. And neither was I supposed to make it. But never count me out. If anything, I am tenacious. This new world was different. People could do magic. And there were monsters. And what about me? I had mana as well, silver mana. Which no one else seemed to have. The only problem was, I did not know what to do with it. Until I really needed to. Author's note: This is the rewrite of Silver Mana. The first bunch of chapters (until I will have caught up to level 2 of the dungeon) should be quite familiar to people that have read the original. There are some changes in content, but the story follows the original fairly closely for at least the first 150-200 pages. Most of the changes are in the writing, and some of the details of how things work. A few of the side characters get a bit more attention too. Some general comments to avoid disappointment: 1. The MC likes to swear. If you object to reading the word "fuck" at least once and usually multiple times each chapter don't read the book. "Fuck" is such a great, allencompassing word... fuck that; what the fuck?; fuck me! Fuck! one word, expressing so many nuances. And, frankly, the people I know that use fuck as a swear word.. they often use it a lot. 2. If you are looking for immediate progression, rapid advancement of the story, etc.... read another book. This one takes a bit. 3. I am NOT Pirateaba (who is writing The Wandering Inn) or anyone close to that level of productivity. If you expect to read 10k words every 3 days, or even just once a week... sorry. I've got a busy life. This is for fun, I have no patreon, paypal, anything, so I write when it is fun and however much is fun. Not more. And sometimes that turns out to be a decent amount, sometimes nothing. I have another book (Marrow) so that complicated things - basically I switch between the two whenever the muse strikes me.

Phantasmic Light
The world is corrupt.Nobles and royalty step on the common people. The common people have no choice but to join the military or live a life of poverty. The military is brainwashed to only obey orders, even if it's to conquer and pillage innocents. When living a life of poverty, you're treated as livestock, killed after deemed useless. When a boy summons the power damned by the gods, will he destroy the entire world like they say? Or will he end the current regime and bring about a new era of peace? AN: This is the first time I'm writing a story like this. If you don't mind my poor grammar, weird name choices, and sloppy mistakes feel free to stick around (and correct me please.) Constructive critism is welcome! However please do not just bash my story as I do put a lot of effort into it. I want to make an enjoyable story for myself as well as all of you. Ps: It's time to come back and rewrite the entire thing, since it kind of went off the rails and then I abandonded it a couple years ago. Thanks to my friend for drawing the cover art for me.
