Y/N and Spencer have been seeing each other for a couple of months and Y/N finally introduces Spencer to her daughter.

Y/N fiddled with the television remote in her hand. She flipped through the channels without pausing long enough to watch anything that would hold her attention. At this precise moment, Y/N couldn't really focus on anything. She had been seeing Spencer Reid for just over four months now and she is the happiest she had been in a while. Even her daughter, Amber, who was only six years old, had noticed the change in her mothers behaviour.

The reason why Y/N was so nervous was because it was the day that she would finally introduce Amber to Spencer. Originally, Y/N was hesitant to tell Spencer about Amber at first, most men she went out on a date with previously weren't ready for that type of commitment. Spencer was different. He was happy to sit and listen to Y/N talk about her daughter. Even if it was early in their relationship, Y/N could see herself settling down with Spencer and Amber - although, that was if everything went okay.

Y/N had told Amber about the man who had been making her mother happy. Amber listened intently but she never said anything about it - which worried Y/N. What worried Y/N even more was that she had told her daughter that Spencer was coming over to their apartment today and she had been in her room all day, not allowing Y/N to go in.

The doorbell rang, causing Y/N's attention to leave the television and switch to the door. She let out a sigh before switching the television off and heading over to the front door. She waited a moment, debating if this was the right time to introduce Spencer to Amber. Before she could debate any further, Y/N opened the door and Spencer stood the other side, a smile gracing his features once his eyes landed on Y/N. Y/N couldn't help but smile back.

"Hey." Y/N said quietly, stepping aside to let Spencer in. Spencer looked around Y/N's apartment. He had been here before but Amber was staying at a friends house and the apartment looked immaculate, nothing was out of place. There was now colouring pencils and paper which had many drawings on them covering the small dining table. There were kids toys on the floor, although not in any place where it was a hazard to walk by. Spencer smiled and turned around to face Y/N and his smile faltered slightly.

"What's wrong?" Spencer questioned. Y/N was still nervous and no matter how hard she tried to hide it, it was written across her face.

Y/N sighed and stepped up to Spencer and wrapped her arms around his torso, Spencer's arms immediately wrapped around her shoulders, holding her close.

"Amber has been acting weird all day. I told her that you were coming over and she hasn't left her room," Y/N explained, "This isn't like her at all, she's usually excited to meet new people."

"If you don't think this is the right time for me to meet her, I can go." Spencer said, pulling away from Y/N to hold her by her shoulders, his thumbs rubbing her shoulders in a comforting manner.

"No, stay. It's been long enough. I just want this to go right, because if it doesn't, I don't know what I'll do. I have to put Amber's happiness first and I don't- I don't want to lose you." Y/N said, taking Spencer's hands from her shoulders and holding them.

Spencer went to open his mouth when he was cut off by a young voice, "Mommy?"

Both Y/N's and Spencer's attention was diverted towards Amber who was standing not too far away, her arms behind her back. Y/N immediately smiled and approached Amber, whose eye's hadn't left Spencer.

"Hey baby," Y/N crouched down to be more leve with Amber, "This is Spencer, remember I told you that he was coming over today?" Amber only nodded slightly before she began to approach Spencer.

Spencer crouched down as Amber approached him, "Hey Amber, I'm Spencer."

Amber didn't say anything, she only brought what was behind her back forward so Spencer could see it. Spencer immediately smiled. On the piece of paper was a drawing of Y/N and Spencer with Amber standing in between them. The phrase 'Welcome to the Family' was written in messy writing at the top, some of the words misspelled but that didn't matter.

Y/N walked closer to the two people she loved more than anything and peered at the piece of paper in Spencer's hands and her eyes immediately welled with tears. She looked down at Amber and saw a smile on the young girl's face.

"Thank you Amber." Spencer said, his smile seemed to only get wider as Amber wrapped her small arms around his neck and hugged him.

"Thank you for making my Mommy happy," Amber said, "Are you staying here?"

Spencer pulled away from the hug but his arms were still wrapped around the young girl, he looked in between Y/N and Amber for a moment before answering, "I'm never leaving."
