Now what? I couldn't think of anything else that I needed to get done. I guess I could clean up a little bit... Nah. I'm too lazy for that. I eventually decided to just go on a Steven Universe marathon. I opened my laptop and began watching the show.
Just as Peridot ran into Steven's bathroom, my phone buzzed. It was, of course, Mike. It was just the classic "what r u doing?", so I replied telling him about it. It eventually turned into me telling him all about my obsession with the show. He ended up recommending something called "Gravity Falls". I wasn't really into any of the Disney cartoons these days, but apparently this one was different than the rest of them.
Right as I resumed my marathon, I heard a voice from behind me. "'Sup?" It asked. I jumped out of my chair, the laptop falling from my lap. Shit, if that thing's broken...
It was Vincent. "How the hell did you get in my house?" I asked, trying not to scream. "Hmm. I have my ways," he replied. "Anyway, I heard that you had the day off. I decided to drop in for a visit."
"Vincent, get the fuck out of my house!" I yelled. He then proceeded to take the Freddy plushie off of my bed. "Hey, this is the gift the company gives new employees. You actually decided to keep it?" Vincent said, looking smug. "Yes. I love stuffed animals. Get out." I said. Vincent's usual shit-eating grin only grew wider. I pulled out my phone and quickly typed in, "Vincent in my house help" to which he replied with a shrug emoticon. Shit, he didn't know where I was. Wouldn't really make sense if he'd known where I lived.

Vincent jumped on me right as I read Mike's reply. I squealed and tried to writhe away, but his legs held me there pretty tightly. "Hmm, Mikey's been texting you? What's this about Steven..." he trailed off.
Once he was satisfied with reading through the conversation, he handed me back my phone and let me go. His grin looked a little more sincere. "Personally, Amethyst is my favorite," Vincent said. He then decided to...jump out the window.
Figures.
I let Mike know that I was alright before I once again resumed my marathon. He asked where I was, and I sent him the address of my shitty apartment building. I invited him over to watch Steven with me, and he agreed on the condition that we would watch Gravity Falls as well. Fine with me.
I leaned out the window that Vincent had jumped from. The purple man was nowhere in sight, but there was a note left on the windowsill. It simply read, "Bird Mom approves" in purple crayon.
What the hell?

Armored
600 years have passed since the fall of civilization. The earth went through massive changes and core beasts now reign supreme. All that still exists of mankind are ruins and a scattering of walled cities. Festering pits of the worst humanity has to offer, protected by "knights" clad in a mech-like technology called armor. Nobles rule over everyone, little more than warlords. The middle class wants to make a buck and become nobles. And the rats want to survive. But everyone wants a piece of the ancient technology lost to mankind hundreds of years ago. Find one piece and it could change your life forever. For better or worse. This is my second attempt at a story. I haven't been writing for more than 3 or 4 months all combined. I hope to improve as I go. This is first and foremost a learning experience for me.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
