"Are you sure your ok?" I ask
"Yes I'm fine"Mike says
"Ok cause I don't want you to like fall or anything" I giggle
"Don't worry" he says "I've been very well looked after"
This made me blush a bit. It has been a few days since Doll came over and Mike was doing much better. There was a loud knock at the door, making me jump. I walk over and open it, it was Fritz.
"Hi Fritz" I say "sorry about this"
"No problem" he replies with a smile
"Sup Fritz" Mike calls from the other side of the room.
"Yo Mike" said Fritz "how are ya feeling?"
"better" he says
"So where's Jeremy?" Asked Fritz
"He's just getting changed" I explain "he'll be out soon"
I had invited Fritz over to keep Jeremy company while Mike and I went out to lunch. Mike wanted to thank me for looking after him the past week. I told him that he had already thanked me in advance when he saved me from Bonnie and walked me home that night, but he refused and insisted taking me out. We say goodbye to Jeremy and Fritz and walk out to the car. I notice Mike walking to the drivers seat.
"Uhh what do you think you are doing?" I say shaking my head
"Uh getting in the car" He says sarcastically
"No you can't drive"
"Oh come on I feel fine" he argues
"Yeah but you won't when we crash" I argue
"Fine" he groans
We get into the car and I start it.
"So where are we going?" I ask
"Umm well it's kinda a surprise so I'll just tell you the way"
"Ok" I say suspiciously
I pull out of the driveway and Mike directs me to this surprise lunch place. I was excited to see where we were going. After about 15 minuets, we arrive at the small, secluded but finely decorated diner.

"Wow" I look up at the brightly lit place
"I know right" he says proudly "and we will get a discount too"
"What why?" I ask
"You'll see" he teases
We walked into the cute little diner. It was well decorated. A few booths across the walls and tables in the middle. I marvelled at the simple beauty as Mike leads me to the front desk. Mike talks to the lady and asks to see the manager.
Soon a young man comes downstairs and his face lights up when he sees Mike.
"MIKE!" He yells as he ran to him and hugged him.
"Sup Spencer" Mike says ruffling his chocolate hair.
"Spence" said Mike "this is Y/N"
We shake hands
"Y/N this is Spencer" he said "he's Jeremy's cousin."
Oh wow I didn't expect that. We talked for a bit, he was a nice dude. Funny, and much more outgoing than Jeremy. This guy was not afraid to joke around even if the jokes were kind of offensive at times. Like,
"So Mike" Spencer says "what happened to Doll or is this one your side chick?"
I shook my head and waved my hand in front of my neck, signalling him to stop there. But he didn't get the message.
"So?" He pestered
Mike hesitated before speaking again
"Uh, yeah we broke up" he said quietly
"Oh man did you do it or her?"
"Spencer" I hiss "not now"
"Oh is it still a touchy subject?" He says with a smile.
I nod my head quickly and he stops talking. We don't talk much after that so he decides to sit us down. He takes us to a booth near a window and says his goodbyes. The waitress comes not so long after with menus. We thank her and she asked back to another table of people.
I glance over at Mike, he's looking down but not opening his menu.

'Good job Spencer' I thought
"Hey" I give him a small nudge on the shoulder "what's wrong?"
"I don't know" he says
"It's Doll isn't it?" I ask
He slowly nods his head and looks at me.
"Well, let's not get caught up on the past" I say as I open my menu
Mike looks at my and smiles. He opens his menu too and skims through. I decided on (Food of choice) and Mike chose (something else). Mike signals to the waitress and she takes our orders before walking away. I try to think of a conversation to start with Mike but he beat me to it.
"So" he said "what made you chose Freddy Fazfucks as a job"
I giggle at the little nickname.
"Well I have a long history with that place" you say "what about you?"
"Same as you really" he says "although mine wasn't a pleasant one"
"What happened?" You ask
"Well" he said hesitating a bit
"oh you don't have to tell it if its a touchy subject" I say as I wave my hands in the air.
"no, no its ok" he says
"ok" you say
"I don't remember how old I was, but it was when Foxy first went out of order. I loved Foxy, and still do, and was devastated when he went out of order. So dumb little me, decided it would be a good idea to just go and see him myself. I stepped over the line and he poked his head out of the curtain. I called to him and he beckoned me over. I stupidly listened and..."
Mike sat there looking down.
"and?" you ask
Then he did something that I wasn't expecting. He took off is hat/beanie, revealing long lines across his scalp, stitches. I covered my mouth wth my hand and mouthed 'oh my god' behind my hand as he put his beanie back on tightly.
"But i've been surviving just fine without my frontal lobe for now" he says with a smile "although the guys do say that some nights i do act weird like i'm-" he cut himself off
"Yeah?" I say, quite intrigued now.
"eh, it doesn't matter" he says
I sighed and slump back into my chair. Soon enough, the food came and we both went silent for a minute or two while we ate. I tried to think of a conversation other than work, but accidentally blurted out another question.
"So, how long have the other guys been working at Freddy's?" I ask and then mentally face palm.
"Well" he started "Scott was the first to start who knows how long ago"
I giggle and gesture for him to proceed.
"Then Vincent was next, then it was me and i started. After that, Fritz came and I became more of a mentor. But I never really got assigned anyone to mentor until Jeremy joined and we became best friends."
I smile and take another bite. Mike was already finished his meal and was waiting for me. But I wasn't really hungry so I just said I was done. We walk up to the front desk where Spencer was and Mike pays for your meal and his which you highly protested against but he insisted.
We say goodbye to Spencer and started walking to the car. Mike looks at me with a nervous face "hey, Y/N?"
"Yeah?"
"ill meet you in the car ok?" he said looking really tense
"o-ok"
I watch Mike run back into the restaurant and talk to Spencer a bit more. 'Boys' I thought while I roll my eyes. A while later he came running back out and jumped into the passenger seat.
"So there is something i want to show you" he says
"ok?" I reply sceptically
Where was he leading me?
