《Changed》Chapter 23

Everyone was moved from Carlos's remembrance of what happened to him.
"I can't imagine it..." Izuku quietly wept. They were back in the living areas of the dorms after the interrogation with Carlos. Everyone sat silently. No one was in the mood for talking.
"He's going to be back," Haley reassured him. "Remember when he said that he was trying again? He's going to break free of their grip and come back to us."
"Yeah," Even Todoroki tried comforting the six. "He has hope now, he can do it. Considering that he was in need of a new injection soon, he should be back in a matter of days."
Izuku smiled a watery smile. "Thanks, guys."
"No problem, Izu." The class had embraced the fact that Izuku was a new person and, true, they were sad that their old Deku was gone, but he would've changed eventually. They just learned to love and accept the new him. He was still Izuku Midoryia.
"Let's go to bed," Jake said. "Today was even more exhausting. Especially for you." He looked at Izuku who just laughed a bit.
"Yeah, I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow." He waved bye and walked to the elevator. The class all said bye to him and watched the doors close, removing Izuku from their field of vision.
"I guess we'll visit Carlos again tomorrow," David said, standing up. "But until then, let's get some sleep."
"Oh, guys." Izuku stopped the class before they left the next day for Carlos's holding cell, I guess you could call it.
"Huh?" Momo quirked a brow.
"The day in the warehouse, there were a bunch of villains behind the people that went in to rescue Todoroki and Haley. What was that about?"
"Oh, kero," Tsu rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. "That."
"Bakugou?!" Haley and Todoroki's eyes were as wide as saucers.
"Shh!" Bakugou put a finger to his lips. "Be quiet. Mina."
"On it." Mina stepped forward and started to melt the chains.
"Is it just you guys?" Haley asked with an underlying tone of sadness that if it was true, her own teammates didn't come to get her.
"Don't worry, dame." Aoyama struck a pose. "We shall rescue you, mon amour."
"Is he always like this?" Haley side whispered to Todoroki.

"Sadly," He eyed Aoyama who was now staring into space and smiling. "Yes..." Haley grimaced.
"Wow, oh look at that." She rubbed her wrists and ankles. She stood up and stretched her back, followed by Todoroki. Their bones popped from the uncomfortable position that they were in for so long.
"Now what?" Todoroki asked.
"We're supposed to get you guys out. Everyone else has different jobs. We have to go before they notice we're here." Mina explained.
"Oh, okay." Haley was secretly glad that her friends did actually come for her, not just Carlos.
"Let's go." Bakugou motioned for them to follow quietly.
"Is that..." Tsu nodded solemnly. They were passing the main room. Sounds of grunting, blasts, and cries of pain could be heard even through the wall.
"Are they going to be okay?" Haley voiced her concerns, while the others preferred to keep their worries to themselves. Even Bakugou looked scared.
"Hold it, kids!" The teens froze in place and slowly turned around. A small group of villains, the remains of Class 1-A, which was basically everyone other than Haley, identified them as a few as one of the many villains from the USJ attack from their first year. So, they were all pretty weak. A few did look new and more dangerous.
"Don't move!" A man held his palms out towards Kaminari who moved to use his earpiece. Ugh, we don't know their quirks... This is going to be difficult. Todoroki inwardly sighed.
"Okay, I'm just gonna-" Todoroki thrust his hand forward and froze all the villains in place, from their heads to their toes.
"Amateurs..." He grumbled. Bakugou just laughed, the class had gotten used to him being more expressive and less closed off. Sure, he was still Bakugou, but he allowed himself to smile and laugh occasionally and didn't always push them away. Like only 95% of the time.
"Only for you, babe." Bakugou murmured in Todoroki's ear, sending chills down his spine. He pecked Todoroki's cheek.
"Now, I'm all for Todobaku, but I think we should wait until we're not about to die." Mina pointed to the crowd of villains approaching from down the halls. Some long-range quirk users were already firing or shooting or throwing whatever their quirk was.
"Good point, Pinky. Let's move." See, he was sorta warming up to others. I guess. At least in terms of Bakugou Katsuki speak.

Without another word, the group of teenagers sprinted down the hallway, opposite of where the villains were already gaining.
"Over here!" Tsu ribbited. They all dashed for the end of the hallway, narrowly dodging the attacks.
"Quick, Todoroki, make an ice wall!" Bakugou ordered. Todoroki waited for everyone to pass the corner and he froze a wall of ice blocking the villains from the students.
"Whew," Kaminari wiped his brow. "That was cl-"
Someone tackled Kaminari from behind. Forcing him to fall to the ground.
"Kaminari!" Mina cried. Bakugou moved to blast the attacker, but Todoroki pulled him back.
"What the hell, Sho?!"
"You can't," Todoroki gestured to the villain and Kaminari wrestling on the ground. "You might hit Kaminari." Bakugou reluctantly backed off, but his face was still full on concern and worry.
"Get the hell off me!" Kaminari grunted. They traded blows, but the attacker socked Kaminari in the mouth, dazing him. The person quickly pulled him to his feet and had him in a headlock with a knife pressed to his throat.
"You move," The man growled. "And your friend dies." The teens eyes were wide and Mina choked back a sob.
"B-" Bakugou tried to fight his anger.
"Got it?!" The man pressed the knife deeper into Kaminari's neck. A thin line of crimson blood snaked down his throat. Kaminari winced at the slight sting, his eyes begged the others to do what he asked. He wasn't ready to die, yet.
"Fine." Bakugou sneered, but you could see there wasn't any fire behind it.
"Come here peacefully. Don't do anything suspicious." The others begrudgingly shuffled forward, hands up. The man smiled, showing his yellow teeth. Kaminari inwardly shuddered at the man's breath.
"Good. Now," The man jerked his head in the direction of the ice wall. "Melt that." Todoroki slowly walked forward and activated his fire quirk, melting the wall. The villains behind it sprang forward and tackled Todoroki the second the wall was down. Bakugou snarled and moved forward.
"Nada," The man applied more pressure on Kaminari's neck, more blood trickled down his neck. "Don't move." Bakugou took a deep breath but stepped back, eyeing both Kaminari and Todoroki.
"Good, now, let's go see how your friends are doing?" The teen's eyes widened as they were shoved forward and slowly walked back to the main room in the warehouse. They grimaced as they saw all the brutal fighting. Kaminari glanced at Bakugou and Todoroki. The three boys silently made a plan. Bakugou tapped his foot once, Kaminari readied, twice, Todoroki clenched his fist, three times.
Kaminari activated his quirk and the man behind him fell down, spasming, Kaminari grabbed the knife and started fending off the other villains. Todoroki, in the meantime, had frozen the people holding him, encasing them in blocks of ice. He engaged with hand to hand combat with the villains next to him, and was slowly winning. Bakugou had sent small explosions to stun the people behind him then proceeded to either punch them in the face or knock their feet out from under them, then hitting them in the head, effectively knocking them out.
Within seconds, all the villains were either frozen in ice, frizzing with electricity with cuts, or unconcious on the floor with slight burns.
"My, oh, my," Aoyama exclaimed, striking another pose. "Good job."
"Yeah," Haley looked at the three's work. "Not bad, but look." She pointed at the fight in the air. Well, it really wasn't too much of a fight anymore.
"What's happening, kero?" Tsu asked, confused on why Izuku wasn't attacking.
"Carlos is controlling him..." Haley whispered.
"But, kero, didn't he escape Shinsou's control?"
"I mean, I don't really know," Haley admitted, still not removing her gaze. "He didn't really tell us much about his time at UA."
"But, he can do it, right?" Kaminari asked, worried.
"We can hope..." Haley muttered. Her eyes widened when she saw Izuku's fingers twitch.
"No! Fight it!" She called out. All the attention turned to Haley, she didn't care. She wasn't losing another friend.
"FIght it!" Kaminari yelled after her. Cheers of encouragement surfaced from the others, even Bakugou, though he would never admit that.
They saw a flash of gratitude in Izuku's eyes and his forehead scrunch in concentration. Seconds later, a scream sounded from him throat. Carlos clutched his head and beams shot out of Izuku's body in all different directions. Everyone ducked to avoid being hit.
Once the dust settled, the teens and adults could all see Izuku holding an unconscious and cuffed Carlos in his arms. Cheers sounded out and filled the once silent air.

In The Maw Of The Gods
Synopsis Lilly Harper was always the type to keep to herself. She struggled to make friendships and so, she simply opted not to. That was why moving to the coastal town of Wilham didn’t bother her. She wasn’t leaving anybody behind and she certainly didn’t expect to be making any friends any time soon. However, when she starts hearing about the school’s “Magic Club”—a group of weirdos who claim that magic is real, she can’t deny that she’s slightly intrigued. Then without warning, she suddenly finds herself wrapped up with them. And what if they aren’t crazy? What if magic is actually real? And what if it’s because of that magic that something more powerful than they could ever conceive of is drawn to Wilham? I plan to follow a release schedule of Tuesday/Friday. Average chapter length will be 4,000 to 6,000 words and I will be using multiple POV's quite often. Also to note, while I am flagging the story with content warnings, I am only doing so because there are specific moments where it will be needed. Overall, the story will be relatively tame and I plan to put extra warnings at the beginning of chapters that it applies to. Thank you to everybody who decides to give my story a chance and I hope you enjoy it!
