《Mindlessly Wandering (Shinso x Reader)》Chapter 8

Why is he out there? Is he waiting for someone?
I watched the boy curiously and with a bit of concern, he shouldn't be out there.
Panicked, I opened the door and went out there.
I put my hand up against the wind and did my best to make my way towards him.
What am I doing?? My feet just started going towards him!
When I got to the side walk, I was drenched. It was cold, and with the wind blowing the rain in my direction, I wasn't feeling super stellar.
The purple haired boy appeared closer and I started contemplating if this was okay.
Fighting against the wind, I finally made it to under the bus stop. Shinso had his earbuds in so he probably didn't notice that I was here. I put my hand on his shoulder and he flinched out of surprise.
At first he gave me a weird look, then his face partly lit up. He took out his earbuds.
"(Y/n), right? What are you doing out here!?" Shinso shouted over the wind.
I shrugged my shoulders then grabbed him by the wrist and made a following motion.
"Woah woah woah, where are we going?" He asked, all I did was gesture to the apartment building behind me.
He looked up and caught on.
"You live there? Is it really alright?" He questioned.
I nodded my head and pulled him up the stairs.
Somehow I messed my footing up and slipped. I was about to fall and hit the bottom of the stairs, but Shinso grabbed my wrist and pulled me up.
However, he fell in the process and hit his knees pretty hard on the concrete.
"Are you okay?" He asked me.
Am I okay? What about yourself?
We continued on until we were finally inside.
"What were you doing out there?" I asked.
"I was going to get groceries, but the storm rolled in faster than expected." Shinso explained.
I just nodded my head and then the room was filled with silence. Then I remembered he fell on his knees while trying to help me out.
I looked down and saw he had bled through his pants.
"You're knees," I pointed out. Shinso looked at me then down at his knees.
"Ah, I guess I hit them when I fell. Nothing to worry about though, it's just a scratch." He said.
But it was still my fault...
"I can heal them..." I mumbled.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"I said I can heal them for you." I repeated awkwardly.
"What do you mean? Is it your quirk?" He asked and I nodded my head.
"You're not much of a talker, are you?" He said.
I just shrugged and he sat down, so I assumed he was going to let me demonstrate my quirk.
I walked over to him and knelt down, then I pressed both of my hands on his knees, and transfered the injury to myself.
"Woah, pretty cool. That'll come in handy."

I just nodded my head. I guess he didn't figure out I don't exactly heal people.
"Let me get you some dry clothes." I said getting up and hiding my knees at the same time.
He doesn't need to know about it...it doesn't matter anyways.
I quickly placed bandaids on my knees and grabbed him a clean t shirt from my drawer.
Since they were big, I thought they'd fit him just fine, however the pants I have won't fit him. So I ran into Aizawa's room and borrowed a pair from him.
I walked back out and Shinso was where I had left him.
"Here." I said holding the dry clothes out for him.
"Oh, thank you...where's the bathroom?" He asked and I pointed him towards the right direction.
I should probably tell Aizawa...
Hopefully the phones work now..
I then went over to the phone and dialed his number.
The phone rang, and then Aizawa finally picked up.
"(Y/n)? Is everything alright?" Aizawa answered.
Thank goodness it's working now.
"Yeah...and uhm.."
"I'm sorry I can't make it home, I know you don't like being on your own, so first thing tomorrow I'll be there." He said.
"Well, I'm not exactly...alone right now."
"What do you mean?"
"A kid I met at the entrance exam was stuck outside so I let him in." I explained.
"Oh, I guess that should be fine...wait him? Who is him?" Aizawa questioned.
"Shinso...Hitoshi Shinso."
"Just...don't let him do anything to you please. Boys can be dangerous, and stupid."
"Okay."
"Did you eat anything today? Other than breakfast?" He asked.
"No, I slept for most of it." I answered truthfully.
"Since the power is back up, you should be able to heat something up using the toaster oven. If you need help, ask Shinso, I'd also like to talk to him. Can you get him for me please?"
"Mhm,"
I then walked over to where Shinso was now sitting and handed the phone to him, he took it with a confused expression.
"Hello?" I called after the girl handed me the phone, and then a voice I knew very well started to speak.
"Alright, if I find out you've done anything to (y/n)-"
"Eraserhead!?" I shouted in surprise.
"Y-yeah..."
"Oh my god! No way, I'm your biggest fan! I remember running into you at the hospital, and now I'm talking to you on the phone?"
"Alright let's calm down-"
"I didn't know you had a kid...and to think I know a lot about you-"
"Shinso." He interrupted me.
"Sorry..." I apologized.
"It's fine, just please make sure (y/n) eats and please don't try anything on her."
"Got it, you can count on me sir."
"And don't make it weird."
"Okay." I said.
"Alright give me back to (y/n) please."
I turned to the girl who was leaning against the wall, and handed her the phone, she took it and held it up to her ear.

"Okay...bye..." She said quietly and hung up.
She then walked over and placed the phone where it belongs, and then sat on the couch.
Since when did Eraserhead have a kid? She doesn't look like him...she kind of acts like him...hmm
Maybe she was adopted? Or she could look more like her mom...
I must've been staring because (y/n) was starting to look more and more uncomfortable.
Then it hit me.
That hair...and eyes...could she be Cataclysmics daughter?
I really shouldn't ask, it's none of my business...but then again, I'm just curious.
I studied the girl one last time and then went to sit next to her. She automatically scooted a bit over to get some distance between us.
"Hey, are you...Eraserhead's real kid?" I asked. She shot me a look of confusion as if she didn't know who Eraserhead was.
"You know...Aizawa's real daughter?" I asked again.
She slowly shook her head.
So she's gotta be Cataclysmic's kid.
"Aizawa...Aizawa says he's my dad." She said quietly.
"That's awesome that you have such an amazing hero for a dad." I complimented.
"What do you mean?" She asked with a black face.
She doesn't really express herself now does she?
"Eraserhead is one of the best pro heros ever, he's my number one hero." I said.
She just hummed and averted my gaze to stare at the floor.
Looking at her from this angle, it looks like she hasn't eaten in forever...oh that's right! Eraserhead wanted me to help her find something.
"You hungry? I asked, and she just shook her head 'no'.
"Well why don't we find something to eat anyways? Okay?"
She just sat there and stared at the floor, so I got up myself to go and find something for her.
I could probably just make a quick bowl of noodles for her, then again, I'm kind of hungry myself so I'll make some for the both of us.
"And...finished. Hey (y/n), I made some noodles, but I made a little too much..." I said placing the bowls down on the counter.
I heard soft footsteps make their way over and sit down.
"What's this?" She asked as I slid a bowl and chopsticks her way.
"Don't tell me you've never had noodles before." I said sitting down next to her.
"I haven't had much of anything..." She said quietly.
"Well, I guess I'm glad to be here for a new experience with you." I tried my best at a smile, but it felt so unnatural to show someone kindness.
I was never really shown kindness myself because of my quirk. Everyone constantly tells me I would make a great villain, I don't want to be a villain.
So I'll start here and show them I can become a great hero.
I watched as (y/n) slowly ate her noodles, and I swear I could see the smallest sparkle in her eyes.
"Thank you for the food." She said and continued eating.
I smiled to myself, but then shook it off.
Why did that coming from her make me feel like that...?
I went back to eating shortly after.
. . .
We both finished our food and (y/n) took our dishes to the sink to wash then real quick.
"Sure you don't need any help?" I asked, and she just nodded her head.
I decided to go and sit down on the couch and wait for her to finish.
As I sat there, I remembered her during the entrance exams, and what I said to her.
That wasn't very heroic of me...I should've waited for her to explain.
(Y/n) came back in after she finished, and sat down on the opposite end of me.
Guilt was chewing at me as I looked at her. Finally, I gave in.
"Hey, I just wanted to say sorry for how I treated you during the entrance exams..." I blurted out.
She looked at me surprised that I had apologized, her (e/c) eyes looked almost lifeless as they widened.
"It's okay, I can see why it would be unfair..." She trailed.
"No, I should've waited for you to explain instead of walk away."
"It wasn't your fault, you had to go." She curled her knees up to her chest and hugged them, averting my eyes.
There was a brief moment of silence as we both gathered words to say.
"So then, why didn't you do the physical part?" I asked, curious to know the reason why.
"Well for one, Aizawa didn't want me getting more hurt, and wanted me to heal and get back to a healthy weight..."
Come to think of it, she does look extremely underweight for her age...
"And he wasn't sure if I could handle it mentally..." She added.
"But then...how are you going to get in? If you didn't demonstrate your quirk properly, how are they supposed to know which class you go into?" I questioned.
"I was put in based on recommendations." She said.
"Recommendations? Is your quirk that amazing?" I asked in surprise.
It's just a healing quirk...isn't it?
"Well, I have duel quirks...I'm able to transfer someone's injury, and I'm able to destroy things with my other. I don't like that quirk though..." (Y/n) trailed and hugged her knees closer to her chest.
Transfer...? I thought she just-
I glanced at her knees, they had bandages on them and they definitely weren't there before.
"You transfer the injury to yourself? Is that what you did with mine? Had I known, I wouldn't have let you. Knowing you would hurt yourself."
"...I'm sorry..." She whispered and hid her face into her knees.
This girl...she's hiding so much away...I know those feelings.
I may not have been through whatever she has, but I've definitely felt those feelings she's portraying before.
Just what did she go through to make her fall this far down?
