《Broken (Jughead x reader)》Part 3

When he stopped he looked at me and said "Honestly, I think you're the most interesting person I've ever met." I blushed at that. No one had ever called me interesting other than when referring to how strange I was. Not that me being strange didn't have anything to do with why Juggie was calling interesting, but for the first time, it sounded like a compliment.
After that we went to somewhere that neither of us had been in a long time. Jughead's treehouse. We climbed up and we sat and kept talking. It was so easy to talk to Jughead. He was someone who finally understood how exhausting other people could be. How socializing could bring your mind into dark places that could otherwise be avoided. We sat and talked of hours. We began to trust each other very quickly and about 4 hours later he had told me everything. His mom and sister leaving, his dad being a serpent, and finally, him living at the drive-in.
"You live at the drive-in?" I stared at him in disbelief.
"In the projection room." he said quietly, looking away from me.
"Juggie, you have come stay with me."
He turned back to face me, "No Y/N, I'm not just gonna drop in on your lives."
"I don't care! Come drop into our lives! If not Archie's and my dad's then at least mine. Please Jughead, I can't let you live at the drive-in 'cause in case you haven't noticed it wasn't exactly built for a human being to live in."
After a lot of convincing, Jughead agreed to come stay with me in my room for a couple of nights a week just so he could have the comfort of a proper bed and a proper meal in the morning every few days.

That night he came back with me and he climbed in through my window, which wasn't that hard because my room was on the ground floor. This was something I had chosen because in my mind, if a criminal came in during the night, they would most likely assume that all the bedrooms were upstairs and wouldn't bother looking around downstairs. I've always been a very paranoid person.
When Jughead came into my room, he looked around. I knew what he was looking at. My room had strings and contraptions all over the walls and the ceiling. The ends of the strings lead to handles that were placed near my bed and the door. Each handle was a different colour. Pulling them would do different things. Pulling the yellow handle next to my bed would open the curtains. Next to the yellow one was a purple handle which would turn on my radio. There was another purple handle next to my door that did the same thing. The blue handle would turn on my light, the orange handle would turn on the lava lamp in the corner of the room and the green one would open the drawer under my bed.
"What are all the strings floor?" he asked, his eyes following them, looking to see where each of them lead.
I proceeded to explain the colours and what each of them did.
"So you spent all this time building these contraptions so you could be lazier than usual?" he laughed, "When did you build all of this?"
I laughed at his comment on my laziness, "During the night. A little while ago when I wasn't doing very well. I couldn't sleep and I felt wasted just lying in bed so I would get up and start trying to make things that would make my life a little bit easier."

He gave me a sad look. I hadn't told anyone that, not even Archie, who knew most of what I had gone threw. After that we talked a little bit more, laughed a little bit more and finally got in bed. I forced him to sleep in my bed with me and I could tell he didn't want to because he knew that I was a very touchy person and that I would want to cuddle. Which is exactly what I did, mostly to frustrate him. When he protested, I told him that I needed to be cuddled up with something to sleep and that he was better than a body pillow and that he "needed to stop being so square". After what was a lot less convincing than I thought I would have to do, he gave in and let me wrap my arms around him. He was tense but after a few minutes he started to relax.
It was nice lying here with him. I could tell that he was getting used to this and that maybe he was even starting to enjoy it. Of course, me being the stubborn little asshole that I am, I had to disturb our peaceful silence.
"You are so enjoying this right now." I said, smirking at him.
"You just ruined the moment!" He laughed.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK TWO: One Cold Trail)
After their fateful misadventure in the mountainous Norther Reaches of RUNDAO, a dark new threat to all of RUNDAO has been revealed to the mercenary band of THE CREEPING BAM and their newest member, half-orc bandit SHAYLINE SWIFT-KILL. Returning their hard-won cargo to THE SILVER ORDER in their city stronghold in BAVAT, they find their well-deserved rest will have to rest – half-elf wizard GAEL FOXTAIL’s father has disappeared while performing an investigation in the coastal city of UNTERMER, and it’s up to our motley crew to find him. As a son of Untermer, wily bakaneko thief ART OF SHADOWS is the perfect choice to lead the way, but he has ghosts of his own to face as their investigation brings them into the orbit of the THIEVES GUILD. But there are daker forces at work here, and as they uncover a dark conspiracy and form an uneasy alliance with a trio of tough sellswords with their own stake in the game, led by dwarven warrior THELGAEWYNN FROSTFORGE, the Creeping Bam begin to suspect this may be connected to that unfinished business they started back up north … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
