《Marrying the Capo》Chapter Four

I'm still floating on what happened yesterday at the De Lucas' mansion. I still can't get out of my system how he told me his fucking rules.
"First, I don't like meddler person especially about my things and anything else. Second, I don't like inquisitive, third, I don't like people who betray me or cheat. And lastly, you must follow everything I say. I don't like disobedient people because when they don't obey me, I'll fill their skulls with bullets. There's no exception to this so you're also involved. Is that clear? " I just nodded in fear.
"As clear as sun."
"Okay. Then we're good."
I just sighed in the car. I was so close to University I didn’t know what to say to my friends. I didn't show up for Layla's party yesterday, I still won't be able to show up next week which is Cally's birthday. I no longer knew what reasons I would tell them. I'm running out of excuses with my friends. I was hesitant to tell them about my marriage. But what can I say? They're my friends and nothing will escape from them.
Plus, my bodyguards. "Ma'am, Mr. De Luca wants to talk to you." The bodyguard handed me his phone, which I immediately took.
"Hello."
"Ms. Evans, how's your day?"
I rolled my eyes to his question.
"It's fine." I answered sarcastically.
"My mother is inviting you to dinner tonight. I'll fetch you later."
"Am I the only one?"
"Did I say anything else?"
I just pouted on his answer. He's so mean.
"I have to go. See you later."
"Ni-" I looked at the phone when I heard the busy tone. That man is really rude. I would have said more but he ended it immediately. I handed the phone back to the man then went back to meditation.

We soon arrived at the University. I immediately saw Layla, Cally, April, and Shay at the gate. Layla is holding make up and grooming herself. Cally is talking to Shay, it's probably about their boyfriends again while April is busy on the phone. Before I got out of the car I first looked at the bodyguards.
"Can you not be too close to me? I just don't like that."
The three nodded. I just smiled then went out and met my friends.
"Hi."
"Where have you been, Sandra? Our eyes almost popped out as we waited for you yesterday. You're such a bitch." Layla immediately complained to me. Okay, I hate her drama.
"I'm sorry. We did something as a family. It's important." I lied. Not sure if they'll buy it.
"I hope you just called us or texted us." Cally held my arm and dragged me into the gate. I guess, they buy it.
"I hope you can go to my birthday. I'll really slap you if you don't." Cally threatens me.
"Actually Cally-"
"What? You can't come because you have something important to do again? What is it? You weren't like this before Sandra. You always go with us to parties. Is there something you aren't telling us? Tell me, Sandra."
The four of them looked at me. Waiting for my answer. I looked at my three bodyguards who were just behind me but a few feet away. I turned to them again. "You see those men." I pointed to my bodyguards. "It happens." Their eyes widened then came closer to me.
"Did your Dad receive a threat again? Why didn't you tell us right away?"
Yeah. They know about it. What can I say, nothing will escape from them.
"I'll tell you later. Let's go."
