"Zeldris, come on, I don't wanna miss it!" I said excitedly and pulled him with me. But all I earned from him was a sigh.
"Why do you wanna go there anyway?" he said little enthusiastic.
I stopped walking and turned around to look at him. "You promised me" I said disappointed and dropped his hand. "If you don't wanna go... then we can stay here."
Zeldris looked at me apologizing. "I'm coming with you because I don't wanna let you go on your own. You know Meliodas is busy at the moment."
"I know" I whispered and looked down to the ground. I shouldn't have agreed to Zeldris joining me in the first place. It was a bad idea anyway.
"Yami..." I heard him say my name quietly whilst he took a step closer to me. He took my hand and began to stroke it with him thumb. The rare feeling of this gesture caused me to look up at him again. Why had he been so nice to me lately?
"I don't like the things that you like. You know that. But if you still wanna go and see the fireworks, then I'm going with you just like I promised."
I was thankful for Zeldris' offer but felt like I was forcing him into something that he didn't really like and that was something that I would ask him for. "Thank you Zeldris. But let's just stay here" I declined his offer.
"Are you sure?" he asked me.
I nodded quickly and tried to hide my disappointment. "What's one more to miss? They're the same every year anyway."
Zeldris nodded as well and turned around as we made our way back to the castle. "What's the matter with those fireworks anyway?" he asked after a while of silence, trying to break the silence between us.
"It's the way humans celebrate the new year. They're shooting up fireworks to celebrate the new beginning. Rumors have it that it's either a welcoming to everything the new year brings whilst others say it's to scare evil souls away."
"Right" he huffed contemptible. "As if these lights would scare us at all."
He realized what he had said only a mere second later and looked at me apologizing. But I just nudged his side with my arm and gave him a slight smile.
"So you think you're evil?" I teased him to change the topic. We simply had different views at things but he had tried to be understanding tonight and I didn't want him to feel bad.
But Zeldris didn't answer and just puffed in slight amusement. Once we were back in the caslte, he followed me up to my room. "You sure that you're doing okay?" he asked.
I looked at him with my right eyebrow being raised because he was more talkative than usual and it made me begin to wonder if he was doing okay. "I'm fine, Zel."
"Still you withdraw to go."
"You should be happy. I'm just getting tired anyway. It's all good, I don't need to go to the human world tonight" I lied. Actually, I wasn't tired at all and the thought about spending my New Years Eve in the castle, all by myself, was really saddening. Zeldris turned around to walk back to his own room but I stopped him, by suddenly calling his name but hated, how insecure my voice sounded in that moment. That surely was not a good way to behave near him.

"Yeah?" he asked and turned arount to face me again.
"Thank you for your company" I said with a small smile. We surely got along in a weird way by now but I never got used to him being actual nice to me for more than two words. Another time, he didn't answer me but I felt his arms wrap around me, pulling me into a hug. I flinched at the unknown feeling and being pressed against his strong chest that wasn't covered by his suit and hoped that he didn't notice my fast heartbeat. I was enjoying the hug eventually moments later and heard him say "Happy New Year" whilst he let go of me.
Hendrickson had been defeated for a while. But the fight against him and the new generation of the Holy Knights had caused a lot of damage in the kingdom Liones. More than half of the town itself had been destroyed and many places and buildings had to be rebuild.
Of course, The Seven Deadly Sins are helping just as much as the Holy Knights. Rumors say it is because they feel responsible for the damage but I don't think that it was their fault at all and that someone like Meliodas or the Fox Sin Ban would feel sorry for a war that they hadn't started.
All the reperatures surely took some time but by now it is seeable that the kingdom is rebuilding again and it looks like peace found us again.
One of the many Holy Knights kneels on the roof of a house and puts the final roof tiles on it, which I throw up to him. "Thank you for helping out, Lady Yami!" he shouts down to me.
"No problem! It's the last I could do!" I say and try to sound as confident as possible. In reality, I'm disappointed that there wasn't more that I could've done. Helping the Holy Knights is the only way to feel helpfull. But when it comes to fighting, I'm no big help, which has different reasons. So all that I had done during the war was fighting those, who passed my way and caused damage.
But now, where all the fighting is over, there is much more that I can do, like helping to rebuild homes for those who can't do that on their own, far away from the town, which is in good hands anyway.
"How's it going up there?" I ask the Holy Knight.
"Almost done, thanks to your help! I didn't think we could rebuild this village so fastly."
"If we keep the pace we should be done within the next two days." I say and throw up another tile to him.
"The view from up here is great" the Knight says. "I can almost see the castle from up here."
I chuckle. "I did not know you can see hundreds of miles."
He jumps down from the roof and lands next to me easily. "That's why I said 'almost'" he says with a grin. He seems to be done with the roof. "Are you joining the festival end of the week?"
"Liones is not my place to be" I say. "I'm only here to help out." I take a look around the village and realize that we're one of the few people left. "Let's call it a day."
"You're in for a drink before heading home? We all would be honored."
"Never saying no to a good beer" I say and already begin to follow him to the nearby tavern, where other knights are allready getting drunk at.

I wave goodbye to the men already a short time after downing two drinks and make my way through the dark forest. It's been a long and exhausting day and my body aches from the hard work and I crave for a long sleep in my own bed.
I just should have let my body heal fully before helping the knights out but it's taking a damn long time when I don't use my demonic powers. But I wasn't interested in using them and therefore I now had to face the consequences.

The week passed by quickly and I sit on the roof of a church in a town that is nearby the kingdom Liones. The firework sends thunder-like sounds and breaks the silence of the night. I just have to lift my head to see the colorful lights but instead, I just lay back and close my eyes because I don't really feel like watching them.
But the firework is a wonderful reminder that all the fighting is finally over and everyone lives in peace again. Just the thought of a human, or in Hendricksons case, a druid, drinking demon blood on purpose still sends cold shivers down my spine. How could he ignore how dangerous this had been. There's a reason why demons were nothing but a rumor for hundreds of years. You shouldn't deal with them. And I think I am the best one to know.
flashback to 5.000 years ago
"No... Please don't" I whined and felt the dark thoughts surround me and an immense power coming from inside me. I wasn't able to handle it anymore, wasn't able to hold it back. Black and purple shadows began to surround me and circled me like a hurricane. I heard loud noises and knew that this immense power was destryoing everything around me.
I shouldn't have given into my feelings...
Another loud crash was hearable and I opened my eyes again, trying to see through the shadows but all I could see was the thunderstorm that I was trapped in.
Why was I here? Why did my Mom send me here?
I need help. Someoneone save me, please. I fear I'm not going to survive it this time.
Suddenly, I feel a hand on my shoulder from behind and turn my head in surprise. How was it possible to someone to break through this storm?
My gaze followed the hand, down the arm and up to the person it belonged to. A strong, blond boy stood right behind me, his dark purple eyes staring at me sternly. There was a demon mark on his forehead that reached down to his right eye. I had heard about demons like him. But being in front of him was a lot more scarier than I would've imagined. His presence alone made me shiver and I was unable to do anything else than stare at him with desperation in my eyes.
His gaze lasted on me for a few moments and when he was sure that I wouldn't look away, he began to speak in a very deep voice. "You need to calm down."
"I don't know how" I cried out. "How did you come through this?" I asked him and let my gaze wander to the storm that was now surrounding the both of us. It seemed like the destroying power didn't affect him at all.
Suddenly, the unknown person knelt down and strengthened his grip on my shoulder.
"Don't let the power rule you or you won't stand a chance otherwise. You're stronger than it is."
We locked eyes again and I began to get lost in the depth of his dark purple and sightly black view and it somehow managed to calm me down, which I didn't even realize in that moment. My thoughts emptied and I felt my fears vanishing and suddenly, the thunderstorm around us began to lighten up.
Before I even knew it, the strong power I had felt inside had disappeared, just like the storm around us. What was left was all the damage it had caused.
My eyes wandered along the chaos and back to the boy. The dark sign on his forehead became slightly lighter and his facial features softened. "Well done" he said proudly, a warm smile on his lips. He stood back up and reached out his hand to help me up. "Are you okay?"
"I guess" I breathed out and took one more look around me. Trees had fallen, the meadow looked like it was burned and there was not a single sound to be heard anymore.
"Don't worry about it" said the boy when he realized what I was looking at. "The nature will recover. It can't be destroyed that easily. I'm Meliodas, by the way."
"Yami" I introduced myself and we began to have a little smalltalk. After that, he offered me help and and I found myself in front of a big castle shortly after. I stopped instantly. "Not going in there!" I said.
"Don't freak out. It's just a castle" Meliodas shrugged.
"I heard that there's just one castle in the demons world and it's where the Demon King lives."
"Rumor really has it, huh? Don't worry, that old man has left the castle long ago. He's not in there, trust me."
When Meliodas realized that I still wasn't comforted, he put his hand on my shoulder once again so we had to lock eyes. "His ego wouldn't fit in that building anyway" he joked. His laugh sounded cheeky and enjoyable and I relaxed instantly. "See, I knew you would trust me" he continued and I nodded before he led me through the giant building.
"Hey little brother!" Meliodas shouted and pushed open another big door, practically pushing me inside. A wide grin was on his face. "We're having a new roommate!" Meliodas then turned to face me and his grin grew wider. "Zeldris is a special one."
Just like he had heard us, I heard a new voice speak up. "You should really stop bringing strays with you. They end up as dinner all the time!" The person laughed and his voice was even deeper than Meliodas'. At first, I couldn't see who it belonged to but that didn't matter because I gave Meliodas a shocked look but he just laughed and nudged me in the side.
"He's joking" he whispered.
Finally, the person walked around the corner and I could see who it belonged to. A younger lookalike to Meliodas appeared but his hair was raven black and less messy than Meliodas' blond hair. He wore a black suit that relieved, his for the young age well-trained, chest. He had a demon mark as well, similar to the one Meliodas had but it was right above his left eye.
I shoot up from my sleep and the memories fade. My heart races and the demonic powers inside me go crazy, like they're trying to break free. The dark power begins to surround me but it doesn't come from myself. My body heats up and within seconds, at least that it what it feels like, my clothes are soaked from sweat.
Where did this power wave come from and why do I still feel it? Never before has a dream caused something like that. But to be honest, I haven't had a dream about the demon world in a very long time and this memory was surely no nightmare.
No. This feeling doesn't belong to me dream or else it would have vanished already. But if this feeling doesn't go away it means nothing but trouble.
And the longer it stays, I tend to know where it comes from.
What if they're back...
Suddenly, I feel fear rising inside me and I know that there's only one person that can help me.
I have to find Meliodas as soon as possible.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
